Recently hired Dura Guard for a sand and seal of my pavers. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND this company as they do the bare minimum, crew is not knowledgeable and professional, and the end product is far less than satisfactory. Owners tend to lean on and blame their so-called supervisors who they claim have been doing the work for a minimum of 4 years, which means absolutely nothing. One can live an entire lifetime "doing it wrong!" In addition, they do not stand by their service or warranties. You'd come out better ahead in a DIY or handyman scenario. Lesson learned: If a contractor quotes you a job on sealing from mere satellite imagery without physically coming out to assess your needs, or does not have a legitimate/physical place of business that you as the consumer can walk into to address your concerns.... Don't use!! Had 2 men come to do my Pavers, around patio and pool. Supposedly did the full job. I had just bought the home and wanted it to look good and be sealed. It was done the last of July, This is November I'm still trying to get all the sand out of my pool, Pavers are not sealed, now some are loose and some have Weeds & Grass growing between them. read more

I hired Dura Guard back in May to resend and seal my brick pavers. When the job was "finished" in June in under two hours, I discovered there were several bricks on my front walkway that were not set or secured. After many ignored phone calls (and they have yet to answer the phone when I call) and emails, I finally got them to come back out to fix those loose bricks on 10/23. The two guys were there less than a half hour. I was told to let the bricks set. But the next day I discovered that every one of the loose bricks were STILL loose!! Two more phone messages have been left with no call-backs. So, after six months, I am still waiting for this paver job to be completed and for my warranty to be honored. Their customer service is non-existent and their warranty appears to be worthless!! read more

Compared to other paver sealing companies I have used in Florida, I have never had a worse experience regarding the sealing of new pavers. The work performed by Duraguard doesn't hold up well, less than a year. Previously, when living in another Florida county, I had multiple positive paver sealing results with other providers. Have tried to contact Nick about warranty on my $4300 job and I still haven't heard from him after several messages. The sealant was applied less than 2 years ago and there is nothing left. It definitely does not hold up well. My pavers are completely exposed. read more

Don't waste your money. Had my lanai pavers & front walk done about 3yrs ago and just finished my quarterly job of having to clean them and flush all the debris from joints. When I initially called them to do the work I was told that my cleaning days were over and that I could now sell my power washer. How do you fill nearly 600 sq' of joints with 1 40lb bag of joint sealer ? Called Nick after job was initially done to tell him that I wasn't satisfied. Was told that they want satisfied customers and would come back and make it right (3yrs ago). Never seen nor heard from them again. My husband and I got our pavers done in May '2020. After only a couple of months, we noticed how much they were fading and some staining. We reached out to them regarding our concerns. It took them over three weeks for them to respond stating "Dura guard does not guarantee any level of shine, sheen, or luster. Please review the second page of your original quote where this is clearly stated." They completely disregarded my concerns regarding the stains even though I provided pics to support my claims. It's very frustrating when a company does not stand behind their work. We believe, if our pavers were properly sealed, we would not have staining. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We hired them to clean and seal out patio. They have power washed it so hard they have put pits in my pavers and the smaller pavers are all sunk down. I contacted the company and they sent 2 guys out to repair it. The workers said they were told they were only there to fix 10 pavers, they said "your whole patio needs fixed" and we can't do that. They claim it was installed incorrectly, then why didn't you stop cleaning it when you saw you were damaging it. The owner refuses to have it repaired. read more

He owns the largest paver sealing company that I know of, with their 15-20 green trucks always busy. So Book NOW! Dura Guard paver sealing On July 3 2021 Dura Guard sent 2 men to seal my 3 car garage driveway and my pool area. I have used them before so I did not think I would have so much trouble with them. The day they came the weather report stated it would rain hard most of the day and I advised them of this fact. They said they knew about the rain and there would be no problem as long as it keeps stopping. It rained so hard that the screens filled up with rain and you could not see out of them. I kept checking with them and they kept saying no problem, and that the job would be just fine. Well, after a few days went by I noticed sand all over my front door and door jams, and black spots on the door itself. Also, there was missing sand in some joints. They claimed that the rain off the screen cage did it. Ultimately, they fixed the problems after coming back 2 times. After about a month I saw sand all over my driveway, but none on my pool area. Furthermore, none of my pavers were sealing water like they said it would do and like their "You Tube" advertisement said and showed their product UreSeal H2O sealer prevents water from penetrating the sealed paver. When I told Nick Smith, the owner, he said," No way it says that." I told him he had at least 2 YouTube videos stating that. He kept saying I was mistaken and that was for another product. Then, at the end of our talk, he said he would take the videos down and that some pavers hold the sealant better than others. He never took the videos down. His ad today 9/3/2021 states (Why chose us over a competitor or sealing your pavers yourself?) and goes on to say... We have a fully stocked armament of chemicals and products on each truck that will be able to remove any stains, rust marks, oils, vehicle fluids, efflorescence, old failed sealant and just about any other imperfection or impurities from your paver, concrete or travertine surface. While most companies offer a 1-year manufacturer warranty, we offer a solid 3-year warranty that protects you and your investment you're making into your pavers. Rather than referring you to some big box store, nationwide manufacturer that will do nothing for you if there is a product or workmanship issue, you can call us with any warranty questions you have, and a Dura Guard supervisor will handle all warranty issues on site. Well, they could not take out 2 stains I had, and stated all the sand that is all over my driveway is normal and he would be worried if their sealer after a few weeks prevented water from penetrating the pavers and beads up even though his videos state they do just that. I spoke to 2 members of the UreSeal H2O research and development, Mark and Chad Ward, who both state that the sealer does seal and prevent water and other fluids from penetrating the pavers and should do that for at least 2 years and up to 6 or 7 on some pavers. You can tell when you need to have it done again when it stops beading, which means it stops protecting. Which means it should be beading after it is applied. I spent a lot of money and got no beading, no protection, and lots of sand on my driveway. I do not want a free anything like he says most people want. I just want what the manufacturer stated that the product does, if done right and what Mr. Smith's videos claim. Please check his YouTube videos. Concreate cleaning and sealing, and Should you seal your pavers. They both boast about how well UreSeal H2O beads and seals not my words, his. As you can see by Mr. Smiths replay he is lying. He never came back and sealed my driveway many many times, he only redid it once and he never redid my pool area because it did not need redoing. As for the marks on the door I never said it was not their fault. I have never threaten him about anything and never never asked for anything free or that he would be bared from Timber Pines. As you can see he lies lies and keeps on lying and never address my review like what the manufacture told me about all the sand on my driveway and the lack of beading. Mr. Smith states that it should bead for 3-6 months , I advised him about a week after the job that I have no beading. I invite him to come to my house and tell me to my face that someone has come to my house 14 times over the years and that I would have him removed from entering the community if I did not receive a free coat and do you think anyone would believe you came and redid my pavers regularly every few months like you stated. Not only would you not do it, I would not even need it or want it. Why don't he just send a rep. from UreSealH2O over and let them decide who is right. I would retract my complaint if they agree in writing with Mr. Smith. read more

They removed stains from our new paver driveway. We had to wait 3 days to see what the finished product would look like and we love it. Dura guard paver sealing did a great job cleaning and sealing my brick paver pool deck, and brick paver driveway. The owner was very knowledgeable and informative and delivered everything as he promised me. I wanted the wet look and it richened my brick pavers and added a nice shine. Their non slip additive worked just as the owner promised it would. The brick pavers are not slippery at all, even around the pool deck. I am very happy with their work. read more

I typically do my own stripping and sealing of pavers as I am very particular about quality. Due to time constraints I decided to look around for a company to do the job. On a Facebook ad I saw DuraGuard and was impressed with how organized they came across and the steps used in their overall process. I requested a quote and I got a very comprehensive list of things they perform and for the first time getting services done, before asking for it, they proactively sent their insurance information along with the quote. I added a few services to the overall quote and scheduled the job. They were on time even raining they were able to perform the pressure washing items and watching them I could see they put detail and care into the quality of work they provided. Each step of the way they evaluated the work area with me and informed me on anything particular I asked for. The quality of the job was outstanding and they even did the front driveway at no additional cost! If you want quality results I highly recommend Nick Smith of DuraGuard and his team!! read more

I expected more from Dura Guard. I thought I did my homework and chose the right company to seal my paving stones on my lanai and pool area. I watched all their videos on YouTube, as to why you should hire Dura Guard for your paver sealing project, "they are different from everyone else" and Veteran Owned. As we have two nephews both actively serving in the military, we decided to support our veterans and called Dura Guard to make an appointment. When I called, I was told that they could figure all measurements via satellite technology, and later received an estimate of over $1100.00. In October 2019, Dura Guard came out to seal the paving stones. They pressure washed, re-sanded with professional grade 4 grain silica paver joint sand, applied 3 HEAVY coats of commercial grade sealer, and added Shark grip non-slip additive to the pavers on my lanai and pool area. We were instructed not to walk on the pavers for 48 hours, instructions my family and I followed. When I was able to walk on the pavers and inspect the work, I noticed my pool was full of sand and debris from the sealing work. I also noticed that there was hardly any sand between the pavers. I called and explained what I saw and expressed that I was very unhappy with the job. Dura Guard apologized saying that their pool robot was broken on a previous job, and to send in photos of what was happening. About a week or so after sending the photos, a Dura Guard crew showed up with an unprofessional attitude, threw sand all over the pavers, and Re-Sealed them again. When I inspected the work this time, I found my pool was once again full of sand and debris. At the time I let it go as the pavers looked good. It has now been a little over a year and I have multiple lines of missing sand between the pavers, as well as mold and moss growing. I called Dura Guard to explain my situation and what was happening, knowing that they had a 3 year warranty. They told me to take and send photos of my pavers for them. I received this as a reply to my photos: "Thank you for the photos. Your pavers are looking about where they should be after a year. Mold and mildew does grow, there's nothing that stops that here in Florida. And the little bit of sand loss you're experiencing after 1 year is about what should be expected." Since I am new to Florida, I asked my neighbors if they had experienced similar situations with their pavers. I was shocked to hear that my neighbors had their pavers sealed over 2 years ago, and their pavers looked cleaner than mine. I reached back out to DuraGuard to explain to them that the mold and mildew growth was caused by there being no sand at all between the pavers. DuraGuard has a 3 year warranty which states it "warrants all residential applications against defects in workmanship or material failure such as cracking, peeling or turning yellow." First, my issue isn't covered under their "warranty" because it is mold, which is not on their very limited list. Secondly, even if mold were to be covered, I would then have to prove that the damage came from their subpar workmanship. Thirdly, even if my issue were covered under their warranty, I would still have to pay for the full cost of materials to fix the problem, although the company would graciously provide labor and waive the trip charge to fix a mistake they themselves made. Lastly, any re-sealing automatically voids their warranty so if they were to come out under their warranty and re-seal, the warranty is now null and void. On that note, by messing up the first time, the second time they came voiding their warranty. Perhaps they do it intentionally to not have to pay out warranty claims? I was offered the two following options: "The first option is where we just soak the area down with our weed and mold inhibitor. This option for your size deck, being as close as you are to our office, would cost $100 which is really just the labor and material cost. The second option is pretty much re doing the entire job, with only 1 coat of sealer. Where we would Pressure clean the surface, flood area with weed and mold treatment, touch up any sand joints missing sand, and seal with 1 heavy coat of sealer. That 2nd option will cost $600." Even if they had offered to do it for free.... THANKS BUT NO THANKS. If the job had been done properly to begin with, I would not be facing these issues so soon. TL; DR: Nothing is covered under their warranty. The little that is covered requires full payment of materials. They do subpar work, are extremely unprofessional, and ended up costing me more to have the job completely redone. Would not recommend. read more

Although I had an issue with the initial application workmanship in regards to sand levels in the grout lines, they did send a crew out out twice to address it. The owner even contacted me to personally to assure me the job would be completed to our mutual satisfaction and pointed out some things I can do to make sure the pool deck sand doesn't wash out in the future. read more

Unreliable, I would not recommend. We had confirmed a date for roof cleaning with Duraguardfl and we pulled all other work crews off the job site and had property cleared for Duraguardfl to do their work. They had told us first appt was 2.5 weeks out so we waited 2.5 weeks for the date to come. They did not show up and when we called them he made an excuse that they had scheduled us for the following Monday which was a lie and would have been 3.5 weeks. We had confirmed the appointment and I stressed to them how important this was and our concern with never having used the company before and he had assured us they would be there and then after his false promises and waiting 2.5 weeks they failed to show up. This job was alot last October. Pool area, two long walkways, and triple car driveway. Although when doing the pool area, there was a moderate amount of sand that went in the pool, I was informed ahead that this would happen so I purchased a leaf catcher for my bottom cleaner and lined the bascket with a womans knee high stocking. WOW!! that took are of that and saved my filter although I do ot think it would have messed anything up if I did not do that. My pavers had not been cleaned or sealed in 4.5 years. They guys did an awesome job. I was somewhat picky and due to the pavers being so "needy" for sealant and thirsty, I asked that one of the sidewalks be done one more time. I asked that they do it at their convenience and within two weeks they did and it came out great. My pavers look almost brand new!!! These people from the owner to the receptionist (Norah) who by the way is awesome...are so nice and accommodating. I am very happy and am actually scheduling for a re-do of two areas due to septic area work and fencing work taking a toll on my walkway and driveway with traffic, wheelbarrows, mud, fencing materials and lots of people.. I was impressed with Dura-Guards website & their process, however, I was disappointed with the techs that showed up. I had the lanai & walkway cleaned & sealed but I had the same issue as Steven D's review, 9/11/2018-I wonder if same techs. Sand levels low or not filled at all, especially with walkway. They did return, same techs, and did a good job on walkway, however, when I walked lanai with them I was told "we're done". And yes they were! He left my lanai got into the truck & left. Other dissatisfaction's - I'm not sure what their definition of a soft scrub for screen lanai is but all that was done was a power wash on high without any regard to plants outside lanai - took all the leaves off 2 poinsettia plants. Also, my front door has to be repainted as whatever they did cannot be cleaned and caused significant discoloration. Lastly, I was glad to see they used a pool cleaner in the video, however, they did not use it until I inquired. As a result, I am still cleaning sand out of the pool because the cleaner was not in long enough. Maybe my expectations were too high for them but with so much competition out there that I would expect small local business to provide professional service and attention to detail, however, this was not my experience. Stay away from this company! 3 yr warranty is a joke. Used them in April 2018, paid over $4000 to have pavers sanded and sealed. Horrible job! They did not treat for mold or weeds prior and never put an ounce of sand down. Spoke with owner Nick who bold faced lied to me and said they used 860lbs sand. He also accused my wife of screaming at his crew. Both total lies. I watched the whole job and asked about the sand and was told it was not needed!!!! When I called Nora she kept talking over me and making excuses. They sent someone to look at it and take pictures, the guy told me it looked like a"before" picture!!
