Took my bike in for a tune up and dropped it off. It had been a few years since I'd ridden it and it needed some TLC. The tires were also low. They filled the tires that day to see if either tire would leak by the time they would work on it. (Pickup was scheduled out about a week.) One of the tubes did end up needing replaced, which they did. A couple of days before pick up I was talking to them on the phone about any other potential issues with the bike, and the gentleman was very professional and helpful. He told me about an issue he had observed when the bike was in the lowest two gears, but said that if I didn't ride the bike on those settings it shouldn't be that big a deal for now. Since I don't ride on those and am on a tight budget, I appreciated that he wasn't trying to push an extra sale by making the issue out to be worse than it was. I'll probably get around to having it fixed, but it's not a top priority for me right now. When I got the bike back it felt well tuned and good to go. The guys here were great. read more

Holy cow these guys are the best! I came in needing new boots (and later realized skis) and they were so knowledgeable and willing to help me get the ones best suited for me. They helped out with pricing within my range too. I was leaving for a ski trip the next day and had come in around 4pm and they had everything done by the next morning so that I could go on the trip. I just arrived from China and was uncasing my bike when I realized that I had neglected to pack the tools to reassemble my rear cassette on my MTB. These dudes did a great job. After assembling the bike I also realized that my rear derailleur had snapped into two pieces during transit. They had my derailleur in stock and helped me out with that and a new chain on the spot. They were super professional and I would highly recommend them in the future to anyone needing a new bike or repairs. read more

My husbands bike needed a tube up and new tires, when he dropped it off the people were not nice but not rude. But when we went to pick up, the guy said $126 but my husband thought he said 1,260. The guy then replied with "you could of got a way nicer bike for a grand." Simply pit we will not be going back. read more

Have you ever been biking while wearing a parachute? Well, apparently I have. My bike was creaking and and was dragging ass. Dropped it off for a tune up and it now rides like it's brand new. No noise, smooth shifting... I don't remember it ever riding so well (Bogus Basin Around the Mountain was amazing). Full disclosure I had to wait to get it in, but they are busy because they are good. It's worth the wait. These guys also tuned up my sons 20" bike. I love that they took a lot of pride in working on a kids bike that looks like it's been to hell and back. Guess it beats working on a bike that's been collecting dust. The past year or so I have finally dived into the world of mountain biking. Finally committing to bettering myself in the sport I quickly out paced my ancient GT despite upgrades to the bike and picked up a new hardtail I have also been upgrading. I had been looking around for a solid place to take my bikes for service, repair, and upgrades. Most of the places I went were good but just felt like they were falling short. I have taken my bike here for a few things and have been very pleased with the quality of work. Really great bike shop. I never had anything more than a $300 mountain bike so I went there to inquire about something better. The sales person was patient in explaining everything to me and got me a great bike within my budget. I didn't feel pressured to spend more. I went back for a tune up and they did it free of charge. When my bike tire hits a goat head in the middle of a ride out in BFE, these guys are johnny-on-the-spot with friendly flat repair. I've been stranded out this way on my bike a few times. And no, I don't want to add the weight of self-sealing tubes or a repair kit to my bike. Call me Spartan. Or masochistic. I love the pain of being stranded. But not really. That's why I love the super friendly and helpful staff here at Idaho Mountain Touring. Good selection of bikes and accessories. May not be as cheap as Walmart or F Meyer, but at least you can get expert help! read more

It's always nice to find a place where people make things personal and truly care. The staff that helped me and my daughter on Saturday were fantastic. They took the time to answer all of our questions and show us some basic bike maintenance as well as show me how to use my existing bike rack. I needed an adapter for our bikes to hold them safely on the rack. Something the place I bought it from never told me. Not safe. What I loved best about this store is they didn't try to sell me anything. They were all awesome. read more
