I've been to many nail salons over the years, but about 10 years ago, I decided not to go into the city where I usually got my nails done and instead tried Iconic Nail Salon in Rockville Centre -- and I've never gone anywhere else since! I am not big on giving reviews but when the service is overall bad, you have to warn customers. Iconic Nails is not a friendly place. The bad attitude is condoned by the owner and trickled down to its workers. I used to come here often because they not only do nails, but have a separate room for massages. I had a mani and pedi and massage all done by different people. When waking up from a one hour massage, I used their ATM to get money and pay as well as tip. I returned back several weeks later and was reminded by the owner I had not tipped one of their people last time. I was a bit shocked. I did not realize I missed one out of three people when tipping. It was an honest mistake. When did tipping become mandatory? I stopped going there until most recently. I witnessed a customer pay for her service when done via phone and walks out. The next thing you know is that the worker is running from across the salon and runs out the door to get her. She was at least 50ft out the door. The customer had forgotten to tip and was brought back in so she could tip. She was so embarrassed and apologized for the distraction and tipped. I'm officially done coming here. I was so turned off by their behavior towards customers regarding tips. What if she was dissatisfied with the service? I was drying my nails when this happened and had a massage scheduled after. Both my sister and I cancelled. They were upset and said rude things in their language. We tipped and did not get a "Thank you." So rude. Please don't come here. Go elsewhere. This place is worst and horrible place. Was rushed had to tell them I wanted clear nail polish she wasn't going to do it if I didn't ask for it. I had to request it smh. She was trying to force me into a package and when I declined from it her and her friend said something in their language and she started the work. She was aggressive I will not be back. Also force tip on you when you pay say cash tip only. I'm like okay the service did not deserve the tip. Racist establishment watched them treat other individuals better and give them better service. Update: Since my first time going to Danny, I remained loyal and continue to let him do both my nails and pedicure. Unfortunately, as of recently, I will not be going to Danny. He recently did my nails and pedicure. He finished my pedicure fairly quickly. I do not get much done for my pedicure (no spa pedi or scrubbing the bottom of my feet), so when he finished quickly I was sort of happy because he usually takes almost an hour. When he got to my nails though, I realized he was rushing. I could even feel the heat/sweat coming from his hands as he held my fingers. Long story short, the job was horrible. Do not waste your time going here. The worst pedicure I've ever had in NYC. Nasty and rude. The girl I had was rough and she was digging into my skin. I had to tell her she was too rough. If you don't get spa pedicure they don't care about the service given. I was on the phone with my friend and she said to me "your done already?" Their also racist. It's the inconsistencies for me. Sometimes I go and they do an amazing job. More often than not lately the job is poor to say the least. First of all I have stopped letting them do my nails because they drill so deeply I suffer through a very painful experience. Last time i went both toes were filed crooked. When i cracked one I went to get it fixed. The job was poor. They gave all kind of excuses but in the end i left with streaky polish that did not match the french manicure I had. Also no lotion or anything. The guy abruptly walked away as I was speaking. A week later the polish job is cracked up. Horrible! read more

Horrible service. My friend and I went for pedicures just because and unfortunately stopped in this place. The man that did my feet was extremely rough. Messed up my nail polish 2x (two separate nails) and I lost top coats because of that. Had smudges of nail polish on my toes that I noticed after leaving. Wiped off all lotion from my legs with a smelly towel. They weren't even busy. Extremely disappointed and I'll never go there again. And yes we both paid $23 each for "regular" pedicures (should be called "cheap" instead) plus $3 flip flops and a tip (which I'm mad about but I know too many ppl in the service industry to not tip). I splurged one day and settled in for a$60 spa pedicure. When I say splurge, I mean, that week I was eating leftovers and hoping my car could sputter along on a quarter tank, FYI. Walk in, gray Sunday morning, not too busy, awesome. Cozy massage chair + luxurious soaps and creams and exfoliatiants + Now this lady tells me I also get a 25 minute leg massage. They close at 7 and usually they always take me before closing because she always say if you make it before 7 you get serviced. Well today was different when I got there. She said she had to leave so I mentioned to her that I really wanted to get my nails done because I get married tomorrow. She said in Vietnamese "I don't give a f*" or "I don't care, I'm not getting married" and everyone who understood her started laughing. I have pretty sensitive skin and never get facials because they're too rough but Wendy was great from start to finish and my skin was glowing when I left! Wow, just had the worst experience here. I only one more star since Nicole the manicure lady is great, but other than that they are always rushing, rude, & don't care about the healthiness of nails. I came in with UV GEL set (which my nails were long & growing out of) & instead of soaking, they used a tip nail to rip my nails off after I told them I would like to choose the length of my nails. I had no length left after they ripped everything off and they also cut me! They down played it, still rushing & when they attempted to file my nails they were filling skin - that's how short my nails were.. they couldn't even make a shape for me. Now I have to start the process of growing my nails all over. They didn't even have time to finish the process of proceeding with my nails, & quite frankly I am glad we didn't go all the way so I didn't end up more disappointed than I already am. As I walked out, one lady said - sorry, next time. Next time what? .. no one even offered me a band aid - I had to ask for one & they continued to count their money after handing it off. Very annoying experience, since I already have a Go-to nail salon called FRESH NAILS in West Hempstead which is amazing & an overall better experience. I was gonna rave about the cleanliness in here until I noticed the dead roach on the floor. Other than that I love the modern look of the place. A rainbow of colors to choose from. Plenty of eaterys nearby. The absolute best part is that they use brand new tools on me. Freshly unwrapped from the packaging. Got a regular pedicure with Callus remover and it felt like a spa pedicure. Didn't feel "basic" at all. One thing I didn't like was that the waxing room is double occupancy. I received a holiday gift of a 60 minute hot stone massage. Jenny was the masseuse and she did an excellent job. She worked so hard on a couple of stubborn muscles that it hurt; that's the sign of a good massage! She used a variety of techniques, which I really appreciated. Jenny also asked, from time to time, if I was comfortable, which I appreciated. The room is quiet, low-lit, and spare, but clean and warm. The only negative I encountered was that the staircase down, and hallways leading to the massage room are pretty dark and, since no one gave me directions where I was going, I, being a first timer here, felt it was a little off-putting. I have been going to this nail spa since before the current owners bought it. I can only tell you that it just keeps on getting better. My gel manicures are always perfect and last a good 2-3 weeks. All the technicians are well trained, courteous and willing to please. I always get complements on my nails. The pearl spa pedicure is to die for and gives you 10 minutes of foot massage. Once you get it you will never get a plain pedicure again. I have recently been getting my eyelash extensions here and have been very delighted with the results. The lashes are carefully applied and look natural. I have experienced many other places and chains that offer eyelash extensions and have found Iconic to be the absolute best hands down. These are me and my mom's nails after only one week. She got the powder gel and I got acrylics. Her nails started chipping within the day. The quality is just not what it should be. I don't know if they use old nail products or if they purposefully do a bad job so you have to come back sooner. But these were very expensive for what we received. Acrylics last me one month literally anywhere else. We will definitely be going elsewhere. Maybe if you go try the regular gel polish but these were a no go. read more
