With all of my plans cancelled, I thought it'll be fun to spend time with my wife and get my feet/hands done since she's always making fun of me. It was great that I was greeted with warmth and had everything explained to me (it was my first time) which calmed any concerns I had. Nora is absolutely amazing, and I've now been 3 times and it's something my wife and I can do together as a date. The spa is extremely clean, with a plenty of openings. I like that I can relax, enjoy great conversation while maintaining the hygiene and appearance of my hands and feet given how much I work outside. I was unhappy with my local nail place, so I decided to try V Spa, which is a short walk from my office. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. The tech (I think her name was Na Na) did a GREAT job on my powder gel mani and was so sweet. Strangely, about 2 hours after I got home, the powder chipped when I was opening a container. I went back the next day on my lunch break to have it fixed, and it was corrected quickly (by Gigi) and no questions asked. The staff remembered by name from the day before. I heard good things about this salon so I decided to give it a try. The first time I went right before a trip. Asked for a gel manicure and they convinced me to get some expensive type of gel for chrome type nails. $200 later, I regretted it because the nail shape and design were so bad, I wanted to take them off. I thought well maybe the manicurist was having a bad day, gave them a second chance. I went last week just before another trip, spent less but one week later my sns manicure looks like a 5th grader did my nails. The shape is horrible and most have already cracked. I was there about 3 weeks ago and frankly did not post because I waited to become more objective. I had a spa pedi and gel nail manicure done by 2 different technicians. The nail technician was nice but gel nail chipped and one fell off completely after 1 week. The pedi technician was actual unkind and rude. I have primary lymphoedema. It is not extreme and I take care of my feet. However the top of my foot swells. She snickered and made fun of me because my foot is sensitive too extreme hot.I get pedis pretty frequently and I never ever had an issue. I actually teared up and asked her why she was huffing and puffing. I get that the technician is a person and her signs had little to do with me. But she was just so unkind even when I asked her what I did wrong. I have been going to Vspa since it opened and this experience together with last in which my powder gel nails were thick and looked horrible ( requiring another nail tech in Europe to remove before wedding I was attending) means I will be looking elsewhere for services. Edit: since I have gone here for many years, I went in today for a manicure. The manager greeted me warmly and Angela, who is sweet did a great manicure. I had a massage as well. They also reached out before today and made no excuses but just apologized. I was happy I went in and with a business that acted so professionally in light of a bad review. Go. To. Tony. This spa is amazing. I got a sea salt spa pedicure for $60 just because I wanted to be pampered and tony did his thing. It included a sea salt scrub, skin masque, hot stone, 30 min foot massage, and 10 min body massage - not including the already amazing massage chair. The spa pedicure also has their own section away from everything else for a true, relaxed, spa experience The whirlpool system is supposedly pipe less which I don't understand the full concept but it's supposedly cleaner. They did put a plastic bag around the tub, which only confirms the cleanliness, but the jets still comes through for the water massage. Tony was very careful and thorough. The 30 min massage took me to bed lol and any little request I made were accommodated. All the tools were freshly opened from their individual plastic wraps. His massage was excellent and I felt like he really cared for my little toesies. I definitely recommend and would return again. Thank you V Spa!!! read more

I went to this nail salon for the first time today, and never again. It was HORRIBLE. I never go anywhere with less than a 4-star rating on Yelp, but I was in a rush, it was close by, and clearly I didn't read Yelp first. I started with a "spa" pedicure and I use the term spa very loosely. It was rushed and not at all relaxing. I also got an SNS manicure. The girls were so rough in filing my nails, my cuticles were nearly bleeding. My left thumb had to be fixed not once, but twice before I ever left the salon. The only good thing in my $99 of treatments was the massage I paid for. That was wonderful. As I was leaving, the owner pushed me that I had to tip the girl who did my pedicure. When I get good service, I am overly generous in my tipping. There are so many nail salons in the area. I cannot emphasize enough, do not go here!!!!!!!!! read more

Every time I use this nail salon I am massively disappointed. The quality of the manicures and pedicures is substandard at best. But probably the most frustrating issue is that, no matter what time you make an appointment, and how you bend over backwards to accommodate their timeframe, they always make you wait 15 minutes to a half hour. Who has that kind of time? I am a repeat customer times 100 and no matter how many times I go they blow me off and make me wait. I will never step foot in there again. read more

I have been going to vspa for years out of convenience. All my friends always have bad experiences but I have always continued going back and thought highly of them. After going yesterday to get my gel polish removed and getting a regular manicure and getting charged $25 was absurd. First of all, the gel that was being removed was done at V Spa three weeks prior was powder gel that looked amazing the first three days and then the bright color quickly faded into this yellowish color. Which also happened to my friend a month before...I don't know what's going on with their powder gel but it seems to quickly lose its color fading into yellow. The whole process of taking off the gel and getting a regular manicure was over an hour long as well. I used to go all the time for a regular manicure and was fine paying $10 for a quick manicure but $15 is ridiculous especially when they do an ok job (depending on the woman you get). Also, $25 for a pedicure? No thanks. With the constant increase of price and less than average service, I will be going elsewhere from now on. read more

Well the name of this place IS rather deceiving as the two other reviews will tell you but luckily I went there for a mani pedi under the recommendation of my mom. We went in about an hour before closing and it was still pretty crowded. One thing that freaked me out however was that when I entered there were three African Americans getting their pedis in one section and then there were several Caucasian women getting their nails and feet done in another section and for some reason I immediately felt like I was standing near a colored only water fountain and should look down at my feet while making my way to the back of the bus. Sure enough me and my mom ended up in the back and while my mom got started with her pedicure, I had to wait for manicurist. They sat me at a station with food on it, looking generally unclean. The main woman was a little curt and when I got up to pick a color, she had someone come over to the station and just picked up my bag which for some reason while in militant black woman mode, really ticked me off so I grabbed it from her. (the woman who was sitting down wasn't even getting her nails done, just waiting with another woman who was. Finally I get my nails done...the girl was alright and worked relatively quickly. I got a french manicure which was neat but unremarkable. My pedicure felt nice when she added the scrub mix and the lotion but the pedicure itself felt a little half-ass. In the end my legs felt silky smooth but my toenails had seen better days. I think I would only be back in there to waste some time while waiting for my Grimaldi pizza from next door. read more

I stumbled across this place while dining out. I wanted a set of tips with regular polish . I asked the woman for a price and i was sent to another woman and was told to sit down . I told both employees that I would sit as soon as soon as I'm given a price. The first woman told me that the second woman will explain to me . I told them both what I wanted and I'm not going to sit until I know what my bill would be . Money wasn't an issue but I think I have the right to know what's expected of me. Finally the first woman tells me that they don't do regular polish on tips. I politely thanked them and did not sit . I waited for my friend to get a pedicure . Meh. I should have known I was in for it when one of the male massage therapists sat down to do my manicure. By far, one of the messiest manicures I've ever had -- streaks and bubbles in the application of the polish, polish all over my cuticles, and the most ridiculously shaped nails (I had to ask the guy to re-file numerous times). In some ways, V Spa still has the open loveliness of its original owners. However, since it no longer offers hair services, the front room is now an extra manicure room. Furnishings are sleek and comfortable, with creamy leather pipeless pedicure chairs that give a massage rivaling that of some human hands. The chairs are fully accessible, with armrests that slide back and forth to accomodate large or disabled clients, and seats that go back far enough to handle the tallest client with long legs. V Spa does a great job of spreading clients out--there's plenty of room, so if a group comes in to chatter and gossip, they can often be set up in their own room. I like that. The salon offers an array of pedicure and manicure options. I've tried the basic pedi, as well as the honey princess pedi, and can report that both are divine. My tech, Peter, is precise, careful, gentle, and quiet. My husband, who is squeamish and sensitive about pedicures, sits quietly in Young's chair without a peep, other than when she's finished and he spends 5 minutes praising her work. One of the things I like about this salon is that techs and clients are paired...so I always get Peter, and I don't have to explain my preferences every time. Waxing services are carried out with equal precision, and I can report that my session yesterday left me clean, smooth, and unirritated. My skin is ultra sensitive and wimpy, but whatever Peter used, I left the salon without a bit of swelling or redness. V Spa often features special pricing, so it's best to call or ask. In general, though, a regular manicure is $10, a regular pedicure is $20. There's a menu of upgrades available. At my last visit, I observed at least five women going for the aromatherapy pedi--and in fact, the minty, lavender scent wafted over to my chair and enhanced my honey pedicure perfectly. Both Essie and OPI polishes are available, with a smattering of China Glaze and Dante bottles, too. Don't find a color you need? The polish selection varies in the front and back rooms, so be sure to check both.
