There are two camps when it comes to sushi on the west side of Madison. Little Tokyo or Nagoya…read more I tried this location of Little Tokyo for the first time tonight.... The restaurant is beautifully appointed there is no disputing this is the nicer of the two. BUT when it comes to the food I am solidly team Nagoya. For example... Nagoya's rainbow roll has tuna, salmon and yellow tail. The slices of fish are adequate. Little Tokyo's rainbow roll has two pieces topped with just avocado a piece with shrimp and two pieces of tuna and two pieces of "white fish". It also comes with eel but I requested that to be left off. This white fish seems to have skin left on and was not pleasant to taste..... the slices of tuna were so thin that they were almost see through... we also had bang bang shrimp and I am comparing them to Bonefish's bang bang.... I did not care for the bang bang. I felt like I was eating Sysco fried shrimp ... I was hoping for a light tempora battered shrimp but that was not the case.... After tonight.... I remain solidly on team Nagoya

He's personable and likes to make jokes all while serving others. This was my first time visiting this establishment. It's a nice intimate size where there could be no seats available if it's a busy night. But it seemed like a slow night when I went so there were plenty of seats available. I also noticed that people were doing togo/pickup orders. Once I was seated, I placed my order for their Thai Tea, Crab Rangoon, and Pad See Ew (2 medium spice). While I waited on my food, I sipped my tea and noticed there was some nice jazz music playing in the background. This really helped calmed my nerves & senses as this is the kind of vibe I was needing. The Crab Rangoon was SO good! And the Pad See Ew was delicious too. The 2 medium spice was just right for me. This will likely be my new goto spot for Thai food when I'm in Jackson. Just a nice, cozy restaurant where I can enjoy my meal in peace.

The peanut sauce needs more lime or spice to it. * Panang Curry: 5/5 * Thai Zapp Soup (Chicken): 4/5: Plentiful and taste delicious but the chicken slices are not tender enough for me so will get tofu next time. * Mango Sticky Rice: 4/5: Fresh with perfect amount of ripeness. Part of the sticky rice was hard but the rest was soft and right amount of coconut cream.

The location was decently decorated and seemed to be clean and it wasn't too noisy for our table of four to eat and have conversation without competing with neighboring tables overall, a fantastic experience, price and value were definitely good. After looking over the menu, I was impressed with the selection of meat and vegetables included in the buffet, more than similar Korean buffets I have been to. I also liked the number of available sauces to further season the food. Service was fast and efficient. We were seated quickly and our drink order was taken and filled shortly afterward. Staff was really friendly and helpful when we had questions. Soon, our order of meats and veggies arrived and the cooking began. The containers tend to take a fair amount of space on the already small tables so keep that in mind if you order a wide variety of meats. We had to stack the containers as we cooked the meat but the server removed them pretty quickly. One really neat feature of the tables I enjoyed was a plate warmer at each seat location, at least in the booths. That helped keep the cooked meat warm while waiting for the other cooking food to complete. Very nice touch. I will definitely return the next time. I'm in town.

It includes cooked starters such as rice, noodles, spicy chicken, spring rolls, wontons, gyoza, etc.. and many protein and veggie options to cook yourself. The beef bulgogi and flank steak were awesome! Shrimp was nice and fresh. The meat is already marinated, but there is also a spice and sauce bar in case you want to take it up a notch. I put a mixture of green onion, minced garlic and cilantro on the beef **chef's kiss**. Note: Other than the short rib, they give you a hefty portion of meat per selection. I suggest maybe ordering 1 or 2 meats per person and if you want more or to try something different later, request it at that time because there is a $13 per lb up-charge for wasting food. Price for the all-you-can-eat buffet is $30.99pp (at the moment). Yakiniku does have lunch specials, value packages for groups, bento boxes, and options if you don't want to cook yourself, but that is really part of the experience and it's super easy. Ambiance is family-friendly, good for groups. Overall, I loved it! A few things that I think would provide a better experience: - If the servers clean or switch out the grill like at other KBBQ spots once it gets dry or too charred. You could probably just request this though. - Different tongues or handlers for each meat instead of one since you're dealing with raw meat (and maybe some sanitizing wipes at the table).

My niece is crazy about the corn dogs here. But I thought my niece was saying hotdogs, but the sweet girl at the counter helped me there, sweetly saying corn dogs. So there's a funny part: I don't think I took a picture of this. But don't let this change your mind. So, I got the corn dog with the sausage. The corn dog was so good I forgot the sausage was supposed to be inside. The amount of cheese is insane, love it. The bread and the outside of the corn dog are something to write home about. It takes a lot to eat this corn dog and I'm loving every bite. But toward the very end, I bite something, and I'm like, what is this? I looked at it, holding it up, and it's the sausage. The sausage is at the very end; it is no bigger and no longer than your baby finger. So don't go there thinking you will have a full sausage. But you would probably be like me, so carried away with the taste of the corndog and forget there is supposed to be a sausage. I brought this up to my niece, and before I could finish, she told me the story, hollering and laughing. I must add, its a charming place too!
