I went here twice in on week. First visit no issues so I came back second time I orderd 2 rolls waited 30 min and they have not even started making them. I having a limited time for lunch I asked for a refend. The girl gave me a reciept for a refund but sounded like she was not sure it would go through. I look on my statment 3 day later I see refund that was one cent off then a another charge for the same amount. The web site is beautiful, and the menu intrigued us, so we decided to give this a try on a trip into South Carolina. But the building seemed a mistake: it is in a former fast food venue, painted a kind of orange. We were afraid we'd be facing some microwaved stuff, or something like a mall food court, based on the building. Don't let it fool you. We tried the Shumai and Gyoza appetizers, which were excellent. We then shared a beef with udon noodles entrée. We were surprised to see it not served as a soup, but it was an enjoyable and tasty experience...and a large quantity, we had to get a to-go container. While you order at a cash register, your food is brought to your table. You also bus your own table. Again, the web site didn't prepare us for this kind of experience; if it had promised table service explicitly, I would have dropped a star. But don't let the extra personal responsibility stop you from enjoying some wonderful Japanese food. We would definitely eat here again. read more

This is a great place to stop in and get a quick cheap sushi roll. My hubby really enjoyed his sushi and it was fresh and served quickly. I wanted vegetable sushi, but their menu only offers 1 veggie in a roll. They were happy to make a special roll with 3 veggies for me and it was out just as quick and really excellent. Oh and did we mention super cheap, friendly, clean!!! Now we have somewhere to eat when we are in Rock Hill for sushi. :) read more

Weird little spot within a fast food building. Was hoping for fast food-like prices, but they are similar to what you would get at a sushi bar. Good sushi, but not too many fish choices. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It's clean, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and the food is GREAT! I believe we have tried just about everything on the menu. My daughter is the sushi eater and she raves about it. The price is perfect so when my 3 teens beg to go I usually don't turn them down. They love getting the Japanese soda in the cool glass bottles. I had the rock hill roll and terki chicken with fried rice and shrimp sauce. It cost about 17 bucks. I personally though the sushi was overpriced for the amount I received and this is coming from someone who lives in charlotte, has worked at two Japanese restaurants and has dated a hibachi chef. With that being said the terki chicken was pretty good. It's your typical express Japanese look and taste but you get a lot! If anything is worth it I would say the entrees. Cheap for a big portion! Like others it's easy to write off Ichiro because of it previously being in a fast food restaurant. I have had the hibachi chicken for takeout on my lunch break. Each time the food has always been hot and everything tastes great. For some white rice is not a big deal, for me its sliced bread. Rice is always great,some restaurants you can immediately tell the rice was cooked hours ago and kept in a warmer. This isn't the case at Ichiro. I had more than enough food. The veggies I had tasted as if they were not rinsed well. It had a very "gritty" texture to it. Shrimp sauce was not great.

I had no idea what I was driving up to after seeing the positive reviews on Yelp. I guess for what it is (fast food sushi and hibachi grill) it does the job. The sushi was very poor quality but is dirt cheap. The hibachi items are good sized portions but lack flavor. The restaurant itself is a counter order place which explains why it looks like they took over a failed fast food joint. I will only return if in was in the area for a quick lunch when I'm looking for a healthier alternative to fast food read more

We're from out of town, so weren't sure what to expect, but sort of a sushi meets fast food, the prices were cheap, the menu is fairly full, though not with all of the sushi items you might expect at a larger place. My steak was chewy and my sushi was soggy and my shrimp tasted fishy. My husband enjoyed the teriyaki chicken. Overall, Not impressed.
