Ichiban is a solid choice for well-rounded Asian fusion food. Most recently, we ordered a few regular rolls, chef special rolls, a tom yum soup and a general tso chicken entree. Most of the specialty rolls are priced between $11-$14 but the cheaper ones only come with six pieces rather than the typical eight. Ichiban gets bonus points for only charging $.50 to upgrade any roll to brown rice. Considering most other places are a buck a piece for the same, that can rack up the bill pretty quick elsewhere. The general tso chicken was a welcome addition to our dinner and came literally doused in sauce...plenty extra to soak up the included rice (white or brown) that comes with most entrees. Ichiban is ultimately one of the best places for all you can eat sushi. They have an awesome selection of sashimi, kitchen items, and rolls. The possibilities are endless. They give you generously thick cuts of sashimi unlike most places, and it tastes fresh and delicious. You have to order the salmon and the yellowtail as well as the eel and the squid. I recommend trying everything. The specialty rolls are also very nice. The ichiban roll is probably the best because it has a little bit of everything. Went here New Year's day. It was my group of 4, and 2 other tables. It took a while for the lady to come get out order. We did all you can eat. It took, not exaggerating, more than 40 mins for us to get our sushi. The other two tables got food that they ordered after we came. While the food was ok, not the best sushi i had (I would not get the Spicy Tuna), the service itself was enough to not come back. Of the ones I've tried (and there have been a bunch) I'd say only Sushi Republic in NHP is as good or slightly better. Price is a tad higher than others particularly for lunch but they do deliver a solid product. Rock shrimp appetizer was outstanding, not the tiny shrimp you get elsewhere these were a nice size, expertly fried and very tasty. I'll start by saying this is more of a 3.5, but its a little mixed. First impression was skeptical. Tucked in the corner of a run down strip mall my hopes weren't too high but after walking in I was pleasantly surprised. Nice interior, lots of seating, & friendly staff. Initially I was impressed with the sushi, the first few bites were fantastic and easily had me thinking this was going to be a no brained 4 star review. BUT as I was working through the rolls one of them had a "stringy" rope like material sticking up. I pulled it and it just kept coming eventually leaving a big hole in the sushi and a super gross feeling in my stomach. Immediately lost my appetite but (luckily) I was 80% through my meal so there wasn't too much wasted. This really turned me off and because of it I most likely won't return. Hubs is not a fan of sushi so we order from Ichiban because of their varied menu. He loves the General Tso chicken. I, however, prefer sushi. Looks like this is an all-you-can-eat place but they have an a la carte menu too (which I ordered via Uber Eats for pickup). Probably 3.5 stars for food, but rounding up for the value of the lunch specials (good selection of $10 bento box options that come with soup, salad, fried shumai, and California rolls). The veggie mix that sat under the meat (zucchini, broccoli, and onions I think) was good. The fried shumai were very good - good flavor and cooked well. Liked that the outside skin was slightly crispy. Liked the California rolls, probably because the avocado was good. Initially was going to get the three-roll combo lunch special ($12) but the rolls you could choose from were more limited than two-roll combo ($9), which was disappointing (no eel avocado roll).. so I had to get the two-roll combo. Picked eel avocado and crispy spicy salmon. Avocado was nice and creamy but the eel was a bit hard which was strange - not sure if it was just crispy skin or just hard. Waited about two minutes for someone to seat us...seems the guy at the bar works there and had just ignored us. Not impressed at all. The lot/strip mall is super sketchy but we thought the pizza place was decent next door. So we tried it. Will never go back. Mt Fuji is down the block, go there. The sushi was fishy smelling which in my experience isn't normal. The rolls were not tightly rolled in fact quite loose, some rolls open so you couldn't really grab them with chop sticks. I visited a few times and I have to say that the first time was great. It was comparable to a better version of sushi village. However, you cannot use any coupons or even claim gift card check in offer when you do all-you-can-eat option (even though there was no disclaimer on either when you dine buffet style. Fine, we let it go as we were with a big party. Then few days ago on Sunday, we went back. They took out eel from both their sushi and sashimi area. Wish that we saw it before sitting down. Last month we put the order for everyone in 1 time, we didn't get everything we ordered. I asked the server, she said we ordered too much make sure you finish before order another round. I LOVE this place. Whenever I am at my moms house for dinner time, we usually order from here. The last time I went here was for my birthday and we got sat down right away, with six people and a baby. The waitstaff is always polite and sweet and gets the order a few minutes after we sit down. This place's location initially deterred me from walking in, as it is in the corner of a fairly dilapidated shopping center; however, I am grateful I didn't judge a book by it's cover, as the food was excellent! I asked for contactless delivery due to covid and the driver waited at my doorstep and wouldn't leave because he said I didn't pay him. I had to then show him that I tipped on the app. I'm not sure if he wanted to try and scam me into paying twice because at first he said I needed to pay for the entire meal and then he switched it up to just a tip that wasn't paid. We found this place out of desperation after being at the car dealer all day with friends and we were all starving so I hit up my handy dandy Yelp to find an AYCE sushi spot close. This place had good reviews so we made a run for it. We showed up on a Monday night about 5:30pm and the place was empty. Not one diner. I immediately had second thoughts but we had friends following us and only had an hour to eat and get back to the dealer so we couldn't turn back now. The staff was friendly enough and the place is nice and comfortable. The food came promptly and it was good. The vegetable rice is the best I've ever had. It's filled with vegetables and very flavorful. The sushi rolls themselves had very little rice and I appreciate that because I usually pick half of the rice off each roll because I'm not big on rice. I didn't enjoy the texture of the spicy tuna mix and 2 others with me agreed. It was just a bunch of mush and it was difficult to eat. Many of their special rolls had cheese which I don't eat so didn't try them. One of our friends had the salmon plate from the AYCE menu and said it was really good. It looked like a meal in itself.
