The main dishes are very flavorful...sometimes a bit aggressive with the long cut scallion and zucchini but I can't complain about that. The sushi is fresh and has the basics. Awful experience, let me start by saying we have been here in the past and it is usually decent but the lady at the front with the short hair was not only rude to us but rude to the server. We came at 2:40 and she said dinner prices even though the website says 3:30 which we have gotten in the past we said okay whatever but then we waited almost an hour and a half for our food and when we mentioned that it took extra long she said too bad then brought the bill with a 18% gratuity charge forced on us it was almost 70$ for 2 people even though the front says only for parties of 5 or more. We were so pleasantly surprised that they had an all you can eat option that they serve (currently priced around $22 / person for dinner) vs a buffet style. Everything always comes out hot, fresh, tasty and timely! Staff is always friendly and attentive. The restaurant and bathrooms are always clean. Definitely worth eating here! We have eaten here before, but it has been a couple years. I believe they have redecorated since then. It is a nice restaurant with plenty of warm wooden decor. We were sat quickly, drink orders taken and delivered promptly. We decided we would do buffet, and everyone filled out the sheet. I didn't think of getting pics, but we selected 6 different dishes, with several qty 2 or 3 (for buffet you get a sheet and each person adds a line for each dish they would like, which is then delivered and served family style). Hot and sour soup may well have been the freshest I have every had. Salad was crisp and inviting. Our palates were getting warmed up! When our entrée's showed, all the food was delicious, and very fresh. As an example, the sweet and sour chicken was not rubbery like is common with a buffet, and the Rangoon was crisp and tasty. 4 of us went and had plenty of food for the price. We all got the lunch buffet and it was definitely worth the price. We all left very satisfied and full. We were very confused when we walked in thinking this was a traditional buffet. Buy pleasantly surprised to have it explained to us that for $22.95 per plate you could order off of the buffet menu and the food was made fresh. My wife started with the Godzilla roll, I had 4 pieces of sashimi, chefs choice, white tuna, salmon, mackeral and ahi tuna. Then clear soup, shared 4 pieces of crab Rangoon, and chicken lettuce wraps. I then picked a spicy tuna roll that was very much delicious. The main course was chicken pad Thai for me and hibachi chicken with vege fried rice for my wife. Both hot and delicious. We each had a couple bottles of Sapporo to round out dinner. $67 before tip, excellent dinner. Ryan, our waiter, was very attentive. Lately we've ordered take out more than dining in so my most recent experiences being reviewed are take out. Overall I'd totally recommend ichiban, but would note this is not a fancy Chinese restaurant despite the prices. Sushi is delicious. Basic maki rolls are on the smaller side, but specialty rolls are definitely filling. Crab Rangoon is a favorite is as the gyoza. Unfortunately my last gyoza order was way overcooked. It's the first time I've ever had that experience so I'm not putting a ton of weight on it. Delicious fried rice. With or without a protein. Lo mein isn't super flavorful in my opinion, but it's not greasy or dried out like other places so I still like it more than certain buffets. read more

ALL YOU CAN EAT SUSHI! Only $24 per person... Every. Single. Day! (Except Tuesday's when they're closed). This means you could literally try every sushi roll on their menu for only $24 or mix it up with a soup, specialty rolls, sides, and dessert. Out of all of the rolls featured, I highly recommend the Magic Roll. Not only is this roll cooked, so it's safe to eat for those afraid of raw fish, but the taste combination is perfect. I always like to drench my sushi in some spicy mayo for added flavor. Although Erie might not be the most popping city, it sure knows how to sell some good sushi. Spacious inside, fast kitchen and service, and indoor seating only is available. 15/10 read more

I had given this place five stars some time ago, but once I came back for a visit recently, I had to come back here and chop off a couple stars due to some changes. I went here with friends for dinner the day after Christmas, and the place was hopping -- so much so there was a twenty-five minute wait for a table. We decided to wait and at least they were true to their word in that it was just about twenty-five minutes. That was not where the stars were deducted, though. I remember from a couple years back that the dishes you get from the all-you-can-eat buffet service were pretty small excepting the full sized specialty sushi rolls -- but the waitress indicated that the dishes were "pretty big," as if trying to downsell us (particularly me since I was the only one with the memory of this apparently, and so I ordered my money's worth). Granted, they could have changed things since I last was here -- maybe they did start serving larger portions -- but I bravely stuck to my guns (bravely, because, unlike before, they warned you they would charge you beyond the buffet price if you left too much uneaten food, a point that crept the score down). Lo and behold, they had the same tiny portions after all excepting the sushi, so I was the only one who ate their fill. You could theoretically order more, though they implicitly discourage this by taking your menu card away after the first round, and my hungry companions were too bashful to ask for more. It is worth noting as well that the food quality was worse than I remember it (excepting the sushi again, which was quite nice) -- the other dishes were mostly mediocre or, as in the case of the teriyaki chicken, pretty bad, what with their serving a dried out, sliver of chicken under a smathering of sauce, a clear downgrade from the succulent slice I remembered from a couple years back. What really gets my goat, though, is that they raised their prices from the original $16.99 to $20.99 per person. So not only do they discourage you from ordering much food, and that food is of worsened quality anyways, but they will also charge you even more for that honour. Too expensive for a buffet where you have to wait to be served, anyways, so I would not come back here except to take advantage of all you can eat sushi, as that is still a good deal. read more

I ordered General Tsos for delivery and Doordash got the food to me very quickly but what i got wasnt very good. The chicken was pale, soggy, stringy, and very chewy with the sauce all pooled at the bottom. This place is a great AYCE asian restaurant. Its not buffet style where they have the food under heat lamps. Its where you order on the menu and they bring it out from the kitchen fresh each round. Their sushi and rolls to me is worth their dinner pricing. Some things I tried Sexy Girl Roll, Tuna sashimi, Red Dragon Roll. My favorite of the rolls they have are the Sexy Girl Roll. I can order that all night. The quality of sushi s very acceptable for the price you pay. I have eaten all grades of sushi from AYCE, to market price style sushi restaurants, and honestly I rather go to AYCE types of places to get my moneys worth. You can order stuff from the kitchen which I thought it was going to be small dishes, but they come out like almost full orders instead of little pupu style which I would prefer because it allows you to try a lot of different things and don't waste if you don't like it. It seems that they add a lot of fillers like veggies etc and not a lot of protein. If they cut down the fillers and used the same amount of protein, it would be fantastic. Some favorite dishes I tried was Rock Shrimp, and Teriyaki shrimp. The time I went dinner was $17.99, but I herd from a friend that went a couple weeks ago from writing this review, he said that the pricing actually went DOWN for dinner which is unheard of. I rarely dine here especially since i live West of Erie, however when I do come here to eat (once or twice a year) I've never had any serious issues. The staff's hospitality is lacking to a 3/10 on average and the food nowadays is inconsistent with some dishes tasting great and others, not so much and leaving you with a stomach ache. The staff's hospitality has significantly decreased since I last visited almost a year ago and the food hasn't improved. They don't greet you, speak formally with you, or even use manners when speaking. I understand that for foreigners working in America, its harder to properly communicate, however just setting things on tables and leaving the guests to situate their silverware, their plates, and a passive aggressive attitude towards the guests for the whole visit is unacceptable. They accused my friends of trying to steal our "All you can eat" meal when they separately ordered an entree for themselves and didn't share any of it. Hopefully next time i visit, quite a while from now lol, the staff will have switched out and the customer service and food will improve because some of the food here is genuinely enjoy!
