So despite some of the reviews I read, I decided to check out this restaurant for lunch. The staff was nice and attentive but our waitress did a couple of things during our visit that everyone at the table was uncomfortable with. The manager came out to our table apologized to every party at our table and finished waiting on us for the remainder of the time we were there. In customer service a manager never wants to deal with a situation like this but I feel that he did a great job and left everyone at the table satisfied that he cared about our experience there. With that being said this was not my favorite hibachi meal but it wasn't the worst one I've had either. I'm not complaining because every restaurant has their own twist on the hibachi experience. I'm also not saying that I didn't enjoy the food. I'm just saying I like some of the flavors at other places better. The restaurant was nice and clean and although our server upset our entire table, I do feel that the manager more than made up for her poor choices. Ultimately I left A happy customer at felt like I had gotten what I paid for. read more

This establishment used to be a family favorite but after ordering on my husbands birthday and a particular female waitress having no problem displaying rudeness and trying to sell me burnt cold wings ....no thank you on spending no more money there. No stars if I could. read more

You would never know that this place used to be a Mexican restaurant! Nice Japanese-style décor, and a cool bar and sushi station. Several hibachi grill tables, as well as regular booths. We were seated at a hibachi table, and while none of us ordered hibachi it was cool to see all of the tricks that the grill master at the table next to us was performing! They have a pretty extensive menu - aside from hibachi you can order bento boxes, sushi rolls, and custom 'Chef-inspired' dishes/entrees like what you would order at a typical Asian restaurant. They have a nice assortment of protein choices to pick for your main event, whether it's a regular dish, bento box, or for hibachi. I ordered the satay Chef-inspired dish, and chose veggies as my main event. I was happy that for $12 I got a cup of miso (just okay, mostly just salty), a little salad with a gingery vinaigrette, and the sautéed veggies with white rice as the main dish. The sauce was supposed to be a Thai-style peanut sauce, but it was kind of blah. Not much peanut flavor - mostly like a light teriyaki soy sauce. I also ordered a shrimp tempura sushi roll, and it was super tasty! My sisters both ordered bento boxes, and they looked awesome. They also included soup/salad, but the box itself had stir fry veggies with sauce, their protein choice, white rice, 2 big shrimp tempura, some small dumpling/ball things, and a California sushi roll! It looked beautiful and was a lot of food. One of the protein choices was shrimp, and they were MASSIVE. They did not skimp on the shrimp! They have a nice drink menu with specialty cocktails, wine, and beer. Only a few sake choices, but plum wine is only $5. Our server was SUPER friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 7pm, and there was barely anyone eating here. I really hope they are busy enough on the weekends and other days to stay open! A solid choice for hibachi and sushi on the west side. I would like to come back and try some more items before committing to my opinion, as I'd probably pick 3.5 stars if I could. Nice hibachi lunch deals! read more

The service and atmosphere were great, but the food was just so-so. The salad dressing was very watered down. The soup was good. Everything that was cooked on the grill was really either really bland or too salty. Before I tasted them, I liked that they gave you both noodles and fried rice, but after tasting them, I was unimpressed. Both were extremely salty. Then the vegetables and entree (shrimp and scallops) came, and they were both bland. I tried both sauces that came with the meal to make them more appetizing, but one sauce was watery and didn't really taste like anything while the other thicker sauce left a gross aftertaste. read more

The manager is rude as ever i just did a take out order and my food was dry I asked for yum yum sauce there wasn't any I called to complain the manager tried to argue with me and tell me about my taste buds and that she gave me yum yum sauce but really gave salad dressing that taste like French dressing I will never go back there again rude and unprofessional you don't treat your customers like crap customers are always right even if you think they are not read more

Went for lunch on Tuesday. I tried a Bento box. The variety of items included was quite nice and I really liked the shumai. The texture of the California rolls was a little gummier than I was used to, but they tasted ok. The shrimp with steamed veggies was very good, although the teriyaki sauce was awfully sweet. The waitress made sure that I knew the items in the box wouldn't be made on the grill. In this case the warning wasn't necessary, but I could see that it might be a good thing to do in most cases. My friend ordered the steak and shrimp, which she said was good. Our chef was a little low key, and some of the folks at the table ended up watching one at another table while we were eating and said he was much better which was kind of a bummer. The waitress was very cheerful and friendly and offered good service. Overall it was a very nice change of pace for a weekday lunch. read more

Ordered online for pickup, we ordered 2 L11's Sea and Land (Lunch) Description (Shrimp 5pes and chicken, with Soft Drink and Orange Sherbet). So I go into to pick it up and she settles my check, then I wait of the order to come up. The hostess brings the food to me and I ask about the soft drinks and orange sherbet, she informs me that is not included on carry out orders. Not a good value. First and last visit all in one. read more

The food was not my favorite. I wasn't a fan of the egg yolk but it seemed to be a fan of many. The lunch special is reasonable and some specials include sherbet. I wouldn't go back because I have other steakhouse closer to me that I think taste better. read more

My go to is house of japan for hibachi but this is so close to me had to try it out. The inside is extremely nice. They're prices are better than most hibachis in my opinion. This place was awesome!! Cook was very fun and involved with audience. Food was great as well! My favorite was the glow lights during a birthday song. read more

The food was amazing. The sushi was great. The service was sub par. But what is compelling me to write this review is the choice of music that plays in the restaurant. We were there for over two hours. And the entire two hours, the only music that played was Taylor Swifts entire collected works. I'm talking every song she's ever recorded played back to back during our dinner. It was unsettling. Does anyone know if this is a regular thing and why?! I need answers!! read more

Placed an order ONLINE- it allowed me to place this order. I go to pick it up with my child (whom it was for) and was told I couldn't order just a kids portion. I HAD to get an adult portion for the order to be fulfilled. Adult portion for a 9 year old! I had no need for an adult portion - I had already eaten! It was a to-go bc that was what she wanted. I used to eat here twice a month with my family of 4 spending well over $100 - I'll probably never be back now! If it's not allowed then it SHOULDNT BE AN OPTION TO ORDER IT ONLINE LIKE THAT!. read more

Horrible food service was bad! I've never tasted noodles so bad like was cooked in gasoline and if you have allergies they treat you like a outcast and cook your food in the back every where else cooks it first before the other food so you can enjoy the experience! My husband and I were so excited to have a Japanese steakhouse so close to our home! We waited weeks, if not months, for this place to open. Today we finally got to go have lunch. We went in with such high hopes but came out less than pleased. The good: Awesome waitstaff- never had less than half a glass of pop in front of us. Great atmosphere- you can tell they spent a lot of money to fix this place up and they did a great job doing so. Personable chef- he was friendly and did lots of cool tricks. That's where the good stops. The bad: The food was horrible. Let me break it down for you. I had filet and chicken with fried rice. The rice was honestly the WORST fried rice I've ever had. I'm not a fan of a ton of veggies in my fried rice. I was going to ask for no veggies in it but wasn't given the chance to as the rice came out on top of this onion and carrot mixture on a tray. Oh well, right? The chef barely used any soy sauce. When he put it on my plate, it was still white rice. White rice with a ridiculous amount of onions. In fact, all I could taste was onions. That's it. So I didn't eat any of my rice. Then he gave me my filet. It was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The only thing I could taste was pepper. No sauce, nothing. Just pepper. Next up, my chicken with egg yolk sauce. Again, lacking flavor. All I could taste was pepper and not because there was too much pepper. The vegetables (zucchini, mushrooms and onions) were under cooked and again tasted so bland that the only flavor you could pick up was pepper. So our $50 lunch was a complete waste. My husband and I both left with full boxes of food that we won't even eat and still hungry. I'm not sure if it was just our chef or if that's how all the chefs are trained to cook the food but because of this experience we definitely will not be back. We will continue to drive to Sawmill to eat at Shi Chi's for all of our hibachi needs. read more

Food was ok chef way over cooked my salmon. I asked for med rare my salmon was well done. Place is very noisy horns honking, chefs pounding on utensils. I'm very happy this place is finally open..No more 30 min drives for sushi...I can only review the sushi as I've not had the hibachi. And...The sushi is very good (4 stars good) for a land locked city far from the ocean that's saying something....The service knocks a star off tho, at least for now (they're new so I'll givem' a break) The sevice is pretty slow, 10+ min. for first drink, then nothing, parched, gasping for refreshment, OH dear god, I'm lucky if get another drink before the Loverboat comes out....and BTW I really don't like the salad.......Just a pet peeve, as it's free, but still it should be presentable..... read more

My wife's 50 birthday party was last night and my family of 5 had the best time at Ichiban last night. The Japanese cook kept us busy watching him and we had some saki saki and some yum yum sauce. Overall the service is good, the food is ok, it took a long time to cook. The chef did not put egg york sauce in my scallop or shrimp. The whole table had to ask for it and we all got just a little bit. Too bad that is what I like the most in hibachi restaurant read more

We were in the area on a Saturday night and thought we'd give this place a try. We were the only ones at our table, but they came right out and took our order and we were eating pretty quick. Surprised they were not busier. I got the Yoki Vegetables and they were good, I also liked that you could choose noodles with your rice. Loved the noodles. Overall we were pleased with the food and service, but my stomach did not agree with what I ate later on! read more

Came for lunch, it was pretty tasty and service was quick! The dressing on the salad was delicious...we will be back for more!

I will definitely eat here a lot, even my finicky daughter and wife loved the food. The Moscow Mule was a delicious drink

The food was good, but I ordered from Ubereats and in the menu they provide there's a kids beverages menu. I ordered a "Junior" Pina Colada. I then get a call saying that the drink I already paid for can't be delivered because it's alcoholic. Since it was listed under the kids menu and labeled as a "Junior" I thought it was nonalcoholic to begin with. It's nice that they gave me a heads up so I can get a refund processed, but now I have to wait however many business days for something that could've been avoided altogether and a different drink could've been ordered. (and if you can't deliver alcoholic beverages, why is it listed in your Ubereats menu?) read more

I have been to their sushi bar every other week because I think it is fantastic. I don't really care for hibachi food as I'm not a big veggie person and do not care for a plateful of rice. The last time I was at a place in Dublin they used a TON of butter for everything. That's all I tasted and it ruined the food for me. That being said, the times I have been here, everyone looked like they were having a good time. I like eating at the bar and the Superman roll is definitely my favorite. I try to pick something different every time and have not been disappointed yet. I do like the salad. It's a nice prelude to my rolls. I also love that's it's close to where I live and shop. read more

Food is good but service is horrible. No regards when they "lose" your online order when really they just did not bother to prepare it. They told me my order was never received yet the pick up receipt was right next to the register. Made me re order my food. 30 minutes to wait to pick up my order and now another 30 minutes for them to finally decide to make it. I was shrugged off as if it was not a big deal. read more

I came to Ichiban for dinner tonight. I tried a little of everything to give a good review. I had Filet Mignon and Scallops off the Hibachi Menu. I also ordered the California Roll and the Spring Rolls. I started out with the soup. It actually wasn't bad like a previous review stated. It was a beef flavored broth with shredded meat. The California Roll was quite tasty. You get 5 pieces that are good sized. The salad wasn't my favorite. It had a less tamed flavor of salad dressing than what you get at House of Japan. The Spring Rolls were awesome. Same taste like House of Japan. The Chef, waitress, and host were very attentive. My Filet Mignon was cooked just the way I like it. You get whole Shrimp instead of it cut up. My Scallops were cooked to perfection along with the Egg Yolk Sauce. I would definitely second the statement of this place being my go to when I can't make it to House of Japan. I don't drink much so I can't comment on the alcohol. You do get a good amount of food, which I should have brought half home. Nice atmosphere and family friendly. Thanks for an enjoyable experience. I would've given a 5 star rating but my Mountain Dew was watered down. read more

Service was Horrible!!!!! Site said lunch was until 4 got to the place at 3:03 and they refused lunch. Then proceeded to be rude about it. Manager wouldn't even come out and talk to us. I laughed walking in cause front lady was arguing with a customer.. I told my wife .. every time I'm in here they are fighting with customers. Well we got to see that first hand today. They are NOT customer friendly at ALL. They will yell and fight with you in front of everyone. Food is good but not worth the hassle of these RUDE people. read more

Having been a customer of House of Japan for many years, and trying Fusion in Grove City only once, I was apprehensive to try a new Japanese steakhouse experience. I was not disappointed. The food was good, the service excellent and the price comparable to other, similar establishments. The convenience of being located at Georgesville square versus driving to Tuttle, makes it a worthwhile investment. read more

Dont wonder why this place will shut down soon. 2nd time I place an order online and they cant even look at the online ordering system for an order. You would think at 7pm during dinner peak hours they'd want all the service they can get especially with only 2 cars parked there. I'm never coming back I'd rather go across the street to the new hibachi place instead of dealing with this shit. read more

The chef we had was very entertaining and we laughed the entire time. The wait staff was very pleasant, attentive, and my glass never went empty!!! Love the food, portions, and atmosphere most time here . With that being said I have found that your "chef" really sets the mood most times they are upbeat and make it an experience but once we had a "dull" chef and it wasn't really much of an " experience " however the food was as good as ever. read more

We stopped here to eat on our way through Columbus. This is probably the WORST hibachi place that I have been to. Slow service and the food was lukewarm when it came out. I ordered my steak medium, and it came out rare. I did not say anything as I did not want to wait longer for the steak to be cooked. read more

This was the first and last time I'll eat here. The hostess was very short with customers coming in and would interrupt them before they could finish a sentence. The wait time for a table wasn't to long but once everyone was seated we waited 15-20 mins before drink orders were taken, the place wasn't busy at all only 3 tables were being used. The chef clearly didn't want to be working that night, the other two tables all laughing and having a good time while ours slowly cooked the food no jokes no tricks no talking nothing..all other similar restaurants I've been to that's usually a large part of the experience. For the food, it was a large portion but didn't taste very good fried rice undercooked chicken was almost rubber like and the steak over cooked when everyone at the table ordered medium. Overall it was a very disappointing trip next time I'll take my money to the Japanese steak house in Dublin I'd suggest the same to anyone else. read more

We called ahead for seating and still waited when we got there. The host was very short with us. The waitress forgot drinks. Our chef was horrible. Chicken was over cooked and hard. He cut the scallops into pieces - who does that? They squirt saki from a mustard bottle into anyone's mouth including minors. We had a $100 meal that was worth $10. I was sick for 2 days afterward. There was a help wanted sign on the door...I guess that was our warning read more

The first time we went here the chef was obviously very inexperienced. He tried to do tricks and dropped utensils. He tried to fake out a young boy and nearly hit him in the face with a spatula. This was honestly the fastest Japanese Steakhouse I have ever been to. And that's not a good thing. Each of our separate dishes came out in rapid-fire succession. The food was rather bland. So we decided to give it another chance a couple months later. Again the chef was inexperienced and upon trying to do his first flip of the spatula it landed on the grill. After that he did not try any more tricks. His personality was absolutely zero. He undercooked our shrimp.. they were gray inside.. and when we told him he pointed at the grill. I assume he did not know enough English to say put it back on here and I'll cook it some more. He just kept pointing at the grill. So he cooked them a bit more under a lid and I have no idea whether I got my shrimp back or the person sitting beside me. Didn't apologize or anything. The scallops were huge and beautiful before they were cooked. When he served them to me they were chopped up into random chunks and shreds, probably his way of making sure they were cooked throughout. I've never been served scallops that are chopped up. The broth soup tasted a bit like fish. The salad was delicious. The steak was very bland and nothing really had much flavor. Of the 5 nearby japsteakhouses we frequent I would put this near the bottom, 4th or last. We won't be going back because of the blandness of the food and the inexperienced chefs. read more
