I was hoodwinked again. Bamboozled. I thought my billing issues were just the Midtown location. As it turns out, the same guy runs both. He convinced me that had I talked to him I would have never had any issues. He gaslit me and I was confused. I also learned my cryo wasn't working because they weren't using the proper treatment on me after paying almost a year's worth of membership at Midtown. I decided to pay as I go and the new aesthetician was excellent. Wouldnt you know, the guy is now charging my card on file for a membership fee even though I never signed any paperwork agreeing to it and specifically said I don't want the membership? They have about 3 cards of mine on file that I will have to report. Hide your credit card, debit card, HSA card, breeze card, etc. Pay cash but do NOT let that man near your cards. I've been hearing about cryotherapy for quite a while now, so I finally decided to try it. What's even better was that this place was on ClassPass! (10 credits though) Their unlimited package is $199 For your first time, you have to fill out a form with your info as well as a waiver. It doesn't take very long though. Then shortly after, one of the ladies will lead you to a small room to take your clothes off, change into a robe and lock your belongings. Yes, you get completely naked. They even give you socks and shoes to wear into the machine. You also wear a pair of gloves which they will give you to protect your hands. Step in, you take your robe off and hand it to them. Then, you rotate in the machine for 3 mins. It's sooooo cold in there I had goosebumps! The lady told me the temp was -130c. Brrrr I'm not sure how I feel yet.. I didn't really feel any immediate effects after my session. And they didn't really explain what was supposed to happen after. I will probably try it again one more time to see if it does anything. read more

I had a Groupon, wanted to try something new, so I tried the Cryotherapy and the *leg thing * Okay so the Cryotherapy is probably not for me I didn't see any benefits; in fact, my bones hurt a little after... The place is extremely clean....and inviting. Upon entering I signed the waiver, and waited for my appointment to begin. The young lady who assisted walked me to a room where I put a robe and boots on; kind of like a doctors appointment. She then walked me to the room with the big machine... I got in and handed her my robe... She explained the session in detail. I hate the cold so I didn't think I would be able to handle it... But I survived it wasn't so bad. It literally fog and not cold air; so it's not so bad...It was super quick; 3 mins or so on each angle of the body; I think it lasted 12 mins total; if that!!! I felt no different!!! Despite this the leg compression apparatus is AMAZING!!! I see a benefit from using this ... this thing is like two huge blood pressure cuffs squishing and pulling the muscles in your legs... it was so relaxing I fell asleep ...If I go back I would use that machine after a long walk or run and skip the cryo machine. Friendly staff and VERY useful for the rigorous fitness nut! Think ice bath (for those of you who played college sports know what I'm talking about) but without the water. Also, 3 min. vs. 20 min. in an ice bath. You get used to the cold and fellas will have fun debating going into the icebox with their underwear on or "sock" their junk (haha I strongly recommend this method). Also, see Dr. Polivka for some dry needling. Long story short, it's like acupuncture but where the needle is moved around to stimulate the muscle and help release the tension in it. Feels freeeaaaky but works wonders (STRONGLY recommend getting this done if you've had nagging pain for a long period of time and don't know how to get rid of it). read more

I just finished a two month membership at Icebox Cryotherapy and it was...amazing. Although Icebox does not advertise cryotherapy as a treatment for insomnia, a better night's sleep is one of the side effects commonly noted from studies done on the subject. I went almost every day for two months, and though I absolutely HATE the cold (I'm a sun bunny from Florida), cryotherapy did feel great. And I did sleep better. Many people coming to Icebox are serious athletes and crossfitters and the like. But DO NOT feel intimated by that. There were folks coming for recovery from surgeries, recovery from injuries...all kinds of things. The staff is literally as friendly and professional as you can imagine. They put everyone at ease, whether it's your first time there or if you are a regular member. The place is as clean and soothing as can be. As a competitive Crossfitter and Powerlifter, I find cryotherapy a must in my recovery. It aids me on my two days and active recovery to bounce back ready attack many more workouts. I have been a client of Icebox cryotherapy off and on for nearly 3 years. In fact, it was the owner of Icebox that found the location in Dallas for me to utilize when I lived in TX. Whole body cryotherapy is used by me for relief of peripheral nerve pain associated with chronic Lyme disease. Some other benefits I have are an immediate surge of energy and endorphins and a renewed vitality seen just after a few sessions. The staff at Icebox is always helpful and kind, I never feel intimidated or out of place given that many clients are very physically fit. In fact, I feel especially cared for with my delicate health issues. I have a baby and the sweet ladies always offer to hold him and play with him so that I can get a session in. That's remarkable customer service! The studio space is clean and airy, very spa like. I am a modest person and the privacy offered in the private changing rooms and the procedures in and out of the machine is very professional. I had some tendinitis in my right elbow, and mentioned that to my sister. My sister insisted that I give Icebox a try. I went and loved it! It's a super clean facility, very nice employees, and best of all, I woke up the next morning with about an 80% decrease in pain in my elbow. It had been hurting for a solid two months, and the relief was amazing. I honestly did not expect that much of a difference. They have a "local" machine that we used immediately after the full body treatment. I highly recommend the additional local treatment, since it concentrates on cooling the exact location of the pain. We did not love our experience. First the place is poorly designed and although they are currently renovating, there are no plans to shield customers in robes from being seen as soon as you walk in the door. There is relatively no privacy in this place. It's tight space and the employees are not that engaging at all. This place was built and designed without a females input. Typically men don't care about details and the lack of niceties, but women usually do and so the lack of privacy, closets used for dressing rooms without decorative organized storage for socks, gloves, towels, boots, no door hook for purses/coats, etc just feels like the owner doesn't care about making the space inviting with good energy for all. IMO they should close to renovate while they improve the space instead of being open to the public. The Cryo Club in Smyrna is out of my way, but much nicer facility with great staff and they actually bring the temp to -225 which you can verify by sight while in the chamber as we weren't so sure Icebox Buckhead actually took the temp that low during our visit. Some ppl may not care about paying $50+ each visit to get a quick boost at a craphole place with staff who seem to focus more on functioning like an assembly line getting people in and out the door vs explaining the process/benefit, being personable and welcoming, but we do. There is something magical about stepping into the cryo chamber for the first time. Will you be transported to another galaxy? Will you wake up 100 years in the future? Will your body turn to ice and shatter with the slightest contact? Is it magic? Or witchcraft? All of theses questions were running through my mind my first trip into the cryo chamber. As the cool gas started to fill the chamber I felt my body relax, I felt the tightness in my muscles release and yes, I felt cold. When I stepped out of the chamber I felt revitalized, my muscles were no longer sore. I was alert and ready to take on the rest of my day. That night I slept like a baby. Yes, Cryotherapy is magic. Icebox is absolutely wonderful in terms of its product, ambiance, and staff. I have been "cryo-ing" 4-5 days a week since 2013. In 2014, I took a six month hiatus from it. During that time, I had a case of shoulder tendinitis that progressively got worse to the point that I seriously thought it may had been a small masked tear. However, within weeks of resuming cryo, this shoulder tendinitis has remained at ease and continues to do so along with the many other aches and pains that accompany high volume, high intensity training required in competitive Crossfit. Aside from the significant health benefits of cryo, Alia and her staff are incredible. I look forward to my daily trip up to Buckhead from Old Fourth Ward in downtown even knowing that I may have to fight traffic just to see their lovely faces. They have been so supportive of my teammates and I professionally and personally over the years.
