Went here for my friends kids birthday party and they did a really good job with the party. The food was good and they had a pretty big room upstairs for the party with nice views of the rinks downstairs. There are four rinks downstairs and they had a couple hockey games going on with one rink open for anyone. The ice seemed a little choppy and they don't offer ice hockey skates to rent. They have a snack bar and a pro shop which I can't really rate because I didn't use them but they were both pretty busy. This place can get really packed on the weekend so expect to wait on line in the parking lot and then again inside. You gotta laugh a little at some of the previous posts complaining that the rink is "cold".....lol it's an ice skating rink!

It's a nice place to skate in NJ, so far it's very orderly and not crowded. It can get crowded when there's a game but overall I'm happy, snack bar isn't bad at all, just simple snacks(pizza, nuggets, fries, chicken parm at times) to get through the day- Hackensack are famous with so much diverse restaurants around so you can reserve your tummy elsewhere.

Love thins Rink! Only one suggestion to management: Private lessons should not be held during public skating, they limit the space.

Too expensive for an hour…read more Not enough of the seals for kids that need it. You see alot of older kids even adults using it that definitely don't need but hog one which affects the kids that are in need. They should limit the amount of people in the rink or at least make sure if their one hour time is up, they have to go. The skates werent comfortable. Rentals, i guess you cant complain. It was good to try once. But wouldn't recommend.

I visited the indoor ice rink at the American Dream Mall alone one random day on Friday, March 8th,…read more2024. I felt like going on a last minute adventure from Philadelphia and decided to drive up to have some fun! I got there shortly before 6pm, the ice rink was to close at 9pm, at the time, so I had 3 hours on the rink instead of 2. PARKING There are many parking lots, but for the ice skating rink, the amusement park, waterpark, lego land etc. I would recommend park in lot B and C. This lot is closest to these attractions. Otherwise, if you park in parking deck A you have to walk for and it gets really confusing like a maze! You can map your gps directly to parking deck B or C on Google Maps, Apple Maps, and more. Parking is $5 on a regular day. $40 on an event day, BUT if you do an experience like ice skating get your parking ticket validated at the desk and it will bring your parking ticket back down to $5. Don't leave your parking ticket in the car!! Too many people do this! You need to pay for parking before you leave, and although there are many different ways to pay it's just easier and faster with the many kiosks inside. You have 25 minutes from the time you pay for your parking ticket to exit the parking lot, if you need more time, I would suggest paying for your parking ticket via your phone by scanning the QR code with your camera and using Apple Pay or GPay to pay for it. PRICE The price of a ticket is cheaper online than it is in person. You don't have to buy it in advance, but even if you get there, buy it through your phone. RENTALS The rentals are a size bigger than regular shoe size, but you can exchange ice skate sizes if they feel too tight or too loose. They are also plastic and don't the best quality. I still was able to ride just fine despite that. They clean it decently, but bring your own socks FOR SURE. LOCKERS I put my shoes & my bag into a locker which is $5, paid via card (debit or credit). I wouldn't recommend leaving your stuff out in the open. If someone steals your stuff, that's on you and not the people who work here. There's a lot of variables around here, and I wouldn't trust to leave your shoes or items just laying around! You process your payment at the locker section. It has its own kiosk. It chooses the locker for you, but you get to choose your own pass code to later re-open your locker. Once you close the locker you cannot open it again. If you do, then you end up paying for a locker again, an additional $5. So make sure you're only doing it once. TIME ON THE ICE You usually get about 2 hours on the ice per session purchase. Because I bought my ticket shortly before 6pm, and they were closing at 9pm, I was able to have 3 hours to ride instead of 2. Although 2 hours is more than enough. You'll get thirsty and hungry, it's a great exercise. CLOTHING You're not going to get cold. If you're going to stand in one spot or sit in the sidelines, you will. But if you're moving around and trying to skate, you're going to get hot. That's why I'm in shorts. I already know myself. I get very hot very quickly. Also if you fall a lot, you may want to cover up, ice burn is a thing. But because I snowboard my balance is great so I didn't fall at all. QUICK TIPS - I would recommend bring like starburst or something to pop into your mouth when you get thirsty during your 2 hour session. It helps keep your mouth salivated for long periods of time. - I wouldn't recommend riding with a bag larger than a fanny pack. - Bring some headphones and listen to music even as a beginner. If you concentrate on something else you'll actually put your focus elsewhere and actually be able to enjoy and learn how to skate. I did the same thing when I was learning to snowboard. I used a stress ball to stimulate my brain when learning to ride, which helped remove the focus from the task at hand. - Be aware of your surroundings at all times. OVERALL I had a good time ice skating here! I would do it again at some point for sure! It's an indoor ice skating rink, I wasn't expecting a luxury experience. It is good for fun, but definitely know what to expect before you go. Don't have high expectations, and just let yourself have some fun.

I've skated here twice (Autumn and Spring) and enjoyed myself BOTH times…read more I own quad skates, so that $15 rental fee is not a factor. If you do rent, the two-toned suede skates are cute. I believe the electronic locker is $5 and fit 2 jackets, shoes and smaller bags. There was plenty of booth and bench seating near the wide bar and around the edges of the rink. The spacious bathroom is well stocked. The service from the bar was prompt and pleasant. My favorite things were the salmon nachos and coconut water. The surface of the skating floor is smooth, and provide a comfy skating experience even for less frequent/ unseasoned skaters. The center of the floor is dedicated to learners and tricks. At times the stage is accessible for shenanigans & live shows/ DJs. The floor can be very contested on more popular night and sor special events, which less than ideal for faster skaters and easy maneuvering around folks. This is a welcome indoor activity that is weather proof and I approve.

Even though I live in the city, it felt great to get out and enjoy the nice weather for once…read moreinstead of hiding indoors like some true New Yorkers. My friend was in town and told me about a DJ playing at a roller skating rink, and suddenly I was transported back to the era when roller rinks ruled the City. So we went, both of us pretending we were twenty years younger. When I got off the train in Bushwick, the neighborhood hit me with all the color, murals, and creative energy like it was trying to convince me to move there immediately. It was semi-loud, bright, artistic, and basically screamed welcome to Brooklyn. At the rink, I filled out the waiver on my phone, showed it to the staff, and rented skates for seven dollars. Considering I had not roller skated in many years, I probably should have signed a second waiver promising not to sue if I fell dramatically. But once I put those skates on, the nostalgia kicked in. Back in the day, New York had roller rinks everywhere. Now they are rare, so seeing this place alive and buzzing made me root for it instantly. The rink itself is not massive, but it is big enough to make you feel confident and terrified at the same time. The crowd was a mix of beginners clinging to the rail like it was a lifeline and pros gliding around like skating versions of Michael Jackson. Meanwhile I was in the middle lane praying I would not become the next viral wipeout video. The opening DJ was decent, but the headlining DJ never really materialized. Maybe he was invisible. Maybe he was on a coffee break. Maybe he was spiritually mixing from another dimension. Either way, I was a little disappointed. Music is a big part of the experience and if the DJ is not matching the vibe, it's like dancing with no rhythm. At one point, as a former pro DJ, I even thought about asking for the manager so I could apply for my own DJ set. I mean, how hard could it be? All jokes aside, I had a really good time. My friend and I laughed, the people were friendly, and the atmosphere was fun. I would definitely recommend this place. I have only been once, but I will absolutely go back again, hopefully with better music and fewer near-death skating experiences. Photos coming soon!

The classes are well structured with three skill levels, and the staff is consistently kind, welcoming, and encouraging. It's been a fantastic experience all around! When I asked about this charge, I was told it was mentioned to me that there would be a $10 fee for non-skaters, but there are signs and it's online so I should have seen that. That was not the case, and I was never informed about this extra fee until the day of the party. What really frustrates me is that I would never ask parents to leave if they wanted to watch their children at a birthday party, especially when we had traveled 40 minutes to be there. It's incredibly inconvenient and unfair to expect parents to leave or be charged for simply wanting to be present at an event for their child. I want to emphasize that while the skating experience itself was fine, the lack of transparency and the additional surprise charges really soured the entire experience. If you plan to book a party here, make sure you have everything in writing and double-check the charges before committing. I will not be returning for future events and I highly recommend that others carefully consider these hidden fees before booking.

The skating session is a bit tricky, it can range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours but you would always know in advance upon online signup. The public skating session is available for registration online. As with any skating place, the skates that everyone uses are no good, always good to invest in a pair, more comfortable and won't ruin the experience. It's one hockey size rink with no lockers. They have cubbies to put your shoes and might fit a really small bag. They have vending machines at reasonable prices. Parking lot has a lot of spaces but apparently it does fill up quick. The place is very very very very old, but that didn't matter to me because the rink is good and the ice is not bad, works for the purpose.

However, I was just coming for the ice skating so, I parked by Macys and rode up 2 flights to enter the rink. Skating fee and rental for skates seemed comparable to other areas I've been to. There was music in the background, which really amped up the vibe and make for extra jamming. There are bathrooms inside and right outside the rink for ease. A couple of downsides I found are- I was a little grossed out that they don't spray down the rental skates with any kind of disinfectant spray as I've seen done at other places after being returned and also I didn't feel like the staff on the rink was very attentive. There were some boys being quite disruptive and I noticed several beginners fall as these boys were speeding past them and almost on top of them.
