Branch Brook is one of the few roller rinks left in the tri state area. Attended my God daughter bday party and we had a blast. Great music from the DJ. Very bright and clean. Staff is pretty helpful. The rink is located in Branch Brook Park.

Branch Brook is my favorite rink! It's a whole vibe! The Djs are good, the people are chill and if you're in need of skate lessons you can come on Tuesday nights 6-7 and Saturday mornings 11-12

I was so happy to visit Branch Brook Skating Center as I've visited plenty of times as a child! And no, I still cannot skate LOL! My boyfriend and I arrived for the 8pm-10pm slot, which I love that they have different slots to avoid over crowding. We got there a little early and was one of the first ones on line to purchase tickets and get the skates. There's plenty of parking so no worries about that. Before you're let in, you have to fill out a waiver. It's not available online yet so you will need to do it in person. After we filled out the waiver, we walked in and paid around $20 each which isn't bad and included skates. The skating rink was just how it was since I was a kid and that's not a bad thing! We went on a night where kids can skate too which was fine since I cannot skate at all. The little kids were the ones passing me up and teaching me, haha! You can rent a locker for 50 cents to put your belongings in so make sure to bring cash/coins. It was pretty chilly inside so if you're a spectator you might want to bring something to keep you warm. If you're skating, you'll be thanking the fans and AC! Skating was so much fun! People are friendly and didn't bother me when I was stuck to the sides LOL. Just can't stay idle on the sides too long as the employees will tell you to keep it moving. This is to avoid any accidents and keep the flow of the rink. Once it hit 20 minutes until 10pm, they turned off the lights and we were able to skate with the backlight paintings illuminating on the walls. The music was just IT; props to the DJ! There were arcade games, food and drinks (non-alcoholic I believe) available for purchase too. I had such a great night attempting to skate, LOL! I will get there one day. If you're looking for a laid back skating experience, this is your spot!

Amazing place to learn how to roller skate! The instructors were friendly and helpful! They play really good music during the skating sessions as well!

This skate rink is really nice. My family and i were in search of a spot that wasnt too far from home. Although this isnt close by, its no where near as far as the location i previous went to in LI. They have sessions of two hours that you can skate. I love the time limit because its perfect when your trying to get the kids together to leave. What i dislike is that we were not allowed into the facility until 3pm on the dot. The line of people trying to get inside was ridiculous and theres only one cashier. People were skipping the line and staff did nothing to control it. I definitely recommend purchasing the tickets online to avoid this mess. I feel like its a little dishonest of this place to make me pay for two hours of skating when i didnt make it inside until 3:30pm. Crazy huh? Trust me the session ended at 5pm on the dot as well. The staff were all really young. Everyone was helpful for the most part. They didnt seem enthusiastic about answering any questions or providing help BUT they did it. We paid $70 for five people to get in and three skate rentals. We also ended up paying another $21 for three skate mate rails. The rink is huge. It was nice and clean. I love that it seems to be alot of families who visit. It helps alot because you dont have to worry about adults trampling over kids being aggressive skaters. This place does have lockers that you can rent for 50cents. We stuffed all our belongings in there for easy skating. There's a consession stand that has nothing. The slushy machine was magically down when i got to the front of the line however, there was multiple kids walking around with a slushy. They have water and other beverages but honestly not much. I would eat before or after coming here. The rental skates weren't the best. My feet where killing me because they were really hard. Next time i will definitely bring my own pair instead. For the small kids skates, the adjustable ones, you have to leave your ID or car keys behind as collateral. Which i think is nuts. Supposedly people steal them so they started doing that. Honestly this place is great to skate. I will solely come here for that reason. Its a great way to allow kids to blow off some steam and just get a little exercise. I was exhausted after this visit so it's worth it completely. The kids were tko'd in the car ride back home. I cant wait to re-visit.

I've heard this place described as "ghetto" yet I don't find that to be true. This isn't a luxury rink or something fancy, just a casual place to skate and have a good time. Yes it can be a little disorganized on the inside with personal belongings sometimes just tossed about. You may find a pair of shoes thrown under a bench or a sweater tossed over a chair but really, it's nothing too distracting. They have that classic funky 90s retro carpet that takes me down memory lane. Arcade games are available too. And don't let the professional looking 12yr old busting spins and twirls keep you from getting out there and giving it a go! I'm looking forward to going back for the DJ nights. Plenty of free parking since it's located in Branch Brook Park.

My sorority sisters decided to have an outting here so came to support. It has been years since I have been skating so decided to be a spectator. When I arrived I parked in their private lot and there was a line. When I walked on the line they asked if I have a ticket and since I didn't I had to purchase online. That's the only way they accepted tickets. The spectator ticket was $5 and change with taxes and fees. I walked in and boy was it chilly. The event was ok all and all.

Line leading inside the rink

The rink has a good quality floor and it is up-kept most rinks in the area. However, if you go on an "adult night" you need to make sure you bring headphones, preferably noise canceling because the music selection is not good. There is always the same rotation of 3-4 djs for adult nights and they all cater to the few skaters who have been going there for years and enjoy house music. The majority of skaters that attend the rink are beginner to intermediate or traveling from other states and would appreciate a variety of music, not just house 95% of the time. Its not even like its different house songs on different days, played by different djs. They all play the same rotation of the same house songs. Please do something about this!

Mural to skate rinks lost over the years! DOPE!!

Came here for the late skate on a Friday. Bought our tickets ahead of time (party of 7) on the website and were able to come right in. There was a small line for door tickets but even that was nothing too long. rental skates are what they are, they do the job. You can also bring your own skates. They have the roller assists for the little ones (and big ones too) overall fun time, will be back for sure!

My husband and I love skating on Sunday Night adult skate from 8-11pm. Get there early as the line starts forming outside the door with security. The parking lot was large and well lite. We prebought our tickets and the staff were nice. The local DJ was showing off is beat. We had such a wonderful roller-skating experience. We loved preforming our complex combination jumps on the smooth wood floor. The skaters here are talented and nice to this La girl.

It was my idea to take our kids to an indoor roller skating rink for our family fun day and my husband found this place in Jersey so we decided to go last Saturday even though it was about 90 minutes away from Long Island. This is an activity that we have never done before so we thought it would be a fun experience for the kids. Finding this place can be a little difficult because there isn't huge signs until you actually drive into the park. There are plenty of parking spaces but we would recommend getting there when they first open at 11:30 am (first session) to avoid any crowds. Please don't make any judgement of this place by the neighborhood or the location until you experience it for yourself. We paid $50 ($9 adults/ $8 kids/ $4 skate rental) for the 4 of us, which included admission, skate rental and unlimited skate time from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. There was 1 customer service representative, which gave excellent service compared to everyone else because he cared about all the kids having fun and checked on them when they fell down. He was very friendly and joked around with all the customers, which made this experience extra special. This place was very spacious and there were only about 20 people skating during the entire time we were there. Both our kids had a great time including us because it was not crowded so they can learn to skate at their own pace. We'll be back again.

Absolutely love it!!

Competitive swimming pool open daily free of charge to all. When was the last time you had a nice swim for as long as you wanted for free? Like try never! Pool is clean, yes slightly dated but so well maintained. Went there today from 11am to 12, guess how many people there were on all 6 lanes? 4people! By the time i was done: there were 2 left. Yes, location sucks and really this is for people from Newark, Harrison and perhaps Karney to enjoy. Showers are dated and not all work; bring your own hair dryer. But all that doesn't bother me since i can just go home and be there in 5min. Also excellent for kids since they do have baby and toddler depths available. They plan to close it for 15 days renovation but will reopen in Nov. Also i am looking forward to their ice rink hours. Will be available later in fall. Again kids classes avaible for free (from what i hear). All in all i am impressed and will come back!

You see alot of older kids even adults using it that definitely don't need but hog one which affects the kids that are in need. They should limit the amount of people in the rink or at least make sure if their one hour time is up, they have to go. The skates werent comfortable. Rentals, i guess you cant complain. It was good to try once. But wouldn't recommend.

I visited the indoor ice rink at the American Dream Mall alone one random day on Friday, March 8th,…read more2024. I felt like going on a last minute adventure from Philadelphia and decided to drive up to have some fun! I got there shortly before 6pm, the ice rink was to close at 9pm, at the time, so I had 3 hours on the rink instead of 2. PARKING There are many parking lots, but for the ice skating rink, the amusement park, waterpark, lego land etc. I would recommend park in lot B and C. This lot is closest to these attractions. Otherwise, if you park in parking deck A you have to walk for and it gets really confusing like a maze! You can map your gps directly to parking deck B or C on Google Maps, Apple Maps, and more. Parking is $5 on a regular day. $40 on an event day, BUT if you do an experience like ice skating get your parking ticket validated at the desk and it will bring your parking ticket back down to $5. Don't leave your parking ticket in the car!! Too many people do this! You need to pay for parking before you leave, and although there are many different ways to pay it's just easier and faster with the many kiosks inside. You have 25 minutes from the time you pay for your parking ticket to exit the parking lot, if you need more time, I would suggest paying for your parking ticket via your phone by scanning the QR code with your camera and using Apple Pay or GPay to pay for it. PRICE The price of a ticket is cheaper online than it is in person. You don't have to buy it in advance, but even if you get there, buy it through your phone. RENTALS The rentals are a size bigger than regular shoe size, but you can exchange ice skate sizes if they feel too tight or too loose. They are also plastic and don't the best quality. I still was able to ride just fine despite that. They clean it decently, but bring your own socks FOR SURE. LOCKERS I put my shoes & my bag into a locker which is $5, paid via card (debit or credit). I wouldn't recommend leaving your stuff out in the open. If someone steals your stuff, that's on you and not the people who work here. There's a lot of variables around here, and I wouldn't trust to leave your shoes or items just laying around! You process your payment at the locker section. It has its own kiosk. It chooses the locker for you, but you get to choose your own pass code to later re-open your locker. Once you close the locker you cannot open it again. If you do, then you end up paying for a locker again, an additional $5. So make sure you're only doing it once. TIME ON THE ICE You usually get about 2 hours on the ice per session purchase. Because I bought my ticket shortly before 6pm, and they were closing at 9pm, I was able to have 3 hours to ride instead of 2. Although 2 hours is more than enough. You'll get thirsty and hungry, it's a great exercise. CLOTHING You're not going to get cold. If you're going to stand in one spot or sit in the sidelines, you will. But if you're moving around and trying to skate, you're going to get hot. That's why I'm in shorts. I already know myself. I get very hot very quickly. Also if you fall a lot, you may want to cover up, ice burn is a thing. But because I snowboard my balance is great so I didn't fall at all. QUICK TIPS - I would recommend bring like starburst or something to pop into your mouth when you get thirsty during your 2 hour session. It helps keep your mouth salivated for long periods of time. - I wouldn't recommend riding with a bag larger than a fanny pack. - Bring some headphones and listen to music even as a beginner. If you concentrate on something else you'll actually put your focus elsewhere and actually be able to enjoy and learn how to skate. I did the same thing when I was learning to snowboard. I used a stress ball to stimulate my brain when learning to ride, which helped remove the focus from the task at hand. - Be aware of your surroundings at all times. OVERALL I had a good time ice skating here! I would do it again at some point for sure! It's an indoor ice skating rink, I wasn't expecting a luxury experience. It is good for fun, but definitely know what to expect before you go. Don't have high expectations, and just let yourself have some fun.
