Really quick service. The menu was limited, but the food was good! Located in the airport

This is going to seem like a complete non-sequitur. Please bear with me, I promise I have a point. There is a breakfast restaurant in Milton, Massachusetts that is one of my favorites. They specialize in skillet breakfast bowls. One of the things that sets it apart is how well it is managed. Even though it is not a small place, even when filled to the brim with people, food comes out fresh (not from under a lamp), and in 3-5 minutes. I share this because how well a place is run influences the overall experience. I appreciate that there is a myriad of things beyond the control of the server or bartender. However, when something goes wrong that is due to faulty management, a server/bartender doing their best to deliver a good experience is not enough. Back when I landed in O'Hare, Ice immediately caught my eye. I know that airport restaurants aren't earning Michelin Stars or James Beard awards (at least not regularly). Stil, something about a cool, sleek, and modern exterior meant I would likely be stopping in before my return flight. I had the opportunity to do just that, though the experience was thoroughly subpar. This comes down to the management issues. The server was the only one running the restaurant and had been on her feet for eight hours straight, without a break. This contributed to the service being slow and disorganized. The issues also extended to the bar service - because the bartender was new, he was unable to make any of their specialty cocktails, only able to make generic ones. Quick note here: all these generics were served as doubles... which is appreciated when trying to bear the ~$20 cost... however, asking for it as a single only reduced the price by less than two bucks! I get the economics and pricing in an airport terminal are different, but still! Okay, onto the items (finally?); I had the opportunity to try the Chicken Chop Salad and a Mojito. The salad was respectable. While I would have liked a little more chicken, I found everything was fresh, more or less well balanced, and dressed perfectly. I liked the overall combination of ingredients, and the portion size was decent also. I don't recall the exact price, but forgivable for an airport. Finally, where it came to the mojito, I am a little less thrilled. It seemed more like something I would make for myself than something ordered at a bar. I think it comes down to the glassware being a little tall and the mint not being appropriately muddled. Let me be clear - I don't blame the server who has been on her feet nonstop for an unreasonable time. I also don't blame the bartender, who just needs a little more experience and not to be the only person on. My issue isn't with these two individuals. However, the lack of proper staffing is a management issue, and leads to a poor customer experience. My issue is wholly with poor management. With this, as sleek as the place may seem, Terminal 3 has more than enough places I would be happy to patronize instead.

The service and food were great. I had the chicken flat bread. The atmosphere was pleasant, background music (a mix), quiet (not a sports bar).

Service from Diana was fast, friendly and came with a smile. For a quick airport meal it was a very relaxed enclosed atmosphere. I recommend and would eat here again on a future trip. I had the Mushroom Flatbread

There is a decent selection of wine and drinks for a bar in an airport. I was surprised by how Empty the place was! I got the mushroom flatbread. It was warm and plenty of mushrooms and cheese were on the flatbread. It was hard to get more water - and I was sitting at the bar. The bill was $20 and when I got my change she didn't given me any singles - just $5's. I happened to have $1s in my w

No, just no. If you love overpriced beverages and really bland food then this place is for you. I was flying out of Chicago later in the morning. I usually fly United but on this trip I decided to give American a try. Overall a much better experience, but you are here for ice. So I thought about Frontera, but I eat there so much and being a good Yelper, I feel like I owe it to people to try different places. So I checked out ice. Looking at the menu, cocktails are $15. I find that ridiculous because a liquor pour is way less expensive than wine and beer. Just watch bar rescue...I ordered a Bloody Mary. Nice mix but 100% not worth the price. For breakfast, I ordered an egg white, kale, avocado and tomato frittata with potatoes. It was really bland, rubbery, just disappointing. I ended up leaving a good bit of it...just couldn't do it. If you're looking for breakfast at O'Hare and see Ice...keep going.

Stopped in for a quick dinner before my flight. The server was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I ordered the caprese salad and he asked if I wanted to add chicken or shrimp before I could get the words out about adding shrimp. Price was pretty reasonable for airport food and portion size was very good. Overall a good experience!

Surprised and impressed!! I wasn''t expecting this level of deliciousness at the airport. The mushroom flatbread and Bloody Mary was delicious. The flatbread has truffle oil and smelled great. Cute, modern space. I'm surprised it's not that crowded. Stop by if you're passing through terminal 3 concourse L.

These pods are quiet and have charging capability (1 USB-C and 1 115V). Overhead lighting is fully adjustable along with the front facing lighting for video conference calls. There is also an adjustment for the ventilation fan however I have found that, even on the highest setting, they can get warm. There are most of the same food options as the F9 location but on a smaller scale. There are self-serve options for soft drinks and coffee. The reason this lounge was designed as such a large space is due to the fact that there's a lot of people in here. That's just something to keep in mind as a basis for your understanding. In terms of design, this lounge has various types of seating. They have the more comfortable chairs located throughout the various rooms at this lounge. They also have numerous seats that are associated with tables. This is probably best for people like myself, who enjoyed grabbing a quick snack, and having a drink, before it's time to board the aircraft. They also have long desks with charging ports set up for those who want to get some work done. Plus, there are some self-standing seats spread out throughout the lounge area. In terms of food offerings, they have food buffets on two ends of the lounge. Both of these buffets offer a unique blending of Quick-Food, as I like to call it. Is pretty good. In terms of drinks, they have drink offerings at both ends of the lounge, as well, in association with the food buffets. There, you can get your expected soft drinks, coffee, and water. If you want alcoholic beverages, you have to go down to the one end of the lounge, where they have a bar. There, they generally have two bartenders. Each of which is happy to give you whatever you want. They often mix drinks, beers, wine, and all that kind of stuff. Many of the drinks are all free. But, if they are, be sure to throw the bartenders a tip. I think that's an important gesture. Some people decide to sit along the bar while they enjoy their drinks. I guess they are just type of people who enjoying hanging out at bars. I don't find out all that comfortable, or appealing, as you're basically elbow-to-elbow with somebody, you don't really know. But, that's just my personal opinion. If I have one complaint about this lounge, it's the fact that it's not really set up for the first class domestic passengers on United. Whereas, is you are flying internationally on United, they use the Star Alliance lounges that are specifically designed for its first and business class passengers. In terms of this lounge, pretty much anybody can get into it, simply by paying a sixty dollar fee. Thus, you get a whole lot of people, Just overwhelming space, without a lot of decorum. Overall, I've been in much better lounges, and I've been in a lot worse lounges around the globe. There's not much to complain about this place, you just have to expect that there's gonna be a lot of people. I have seen it at times midday, when people can't even find a single seat to sit in.
