Swissport Lounge - Self-service drinks and food - Airport Lounges Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

My two cents: this place is the bottom of the barrel. I've been to a ton of lounges, and this one is by far the worst. It's so bad, it's comical. It was dirty. Like, really dirty. The chairs were all torn. The floor was dirty with stains. The bathroom was worse than a gas station bathroom. Seriously, I ended up taking my kid out to the airport when he had to "go" because those bathrooms were actually cleaner. For food, they had stale crackers and Top Ramen. Yes, Top Ramen, not exactly a luxury experience.. The only saving grace? There was no line to get in, and they had self-serve alcohol. I don't drink, so that did nothing for me, but if that's your thing it's there. Overall, not exactly a lounge experience I'd ever want to repeat. read more

Date of visit: October 2, 2025 To call this a lounge is a bit of a stretch, it's the size of a fitness club's locker room and is lacking in many of the amenities that you find at other lounges. Given the small size, it can be hard to get in--this was my first visit and third try--and the food options are not great, but I was actually okay with the banana chips, M&M's, and Coca Cola that I had as I had a very long travel day and needed the fuel to keep me awake for another 20 hours! I imagine that once upon a time this lounge fit in with the rest of Terminal 5 in its dowdiness but with the bright shiny new section of gates, this is desperately calling out for a remodel. Staff is a bit surly at times ("Can you put that chair back that you moved?," a staffer yelled out to a departing guest) and do not do any meaningful guest interactions. If you keep your expectations low and have a backup plan in case the joint is full, this is a place to pass the time for a bit before your flight. read more

Don't waste your time. By far, the worst airport lounge I've ever been to. We waited in line for stale bulk snacks, no alcohol...no water. The lounge tables and chairs were dirty, the garbage cans overflowing! You can tell the employees staffing it don't give a crap, as they were hiding in the back room the half and hour we were there. Women's restroom out of order. Definitely don't pay for this one and even complimentary via priority pass is not worth it. Zero stars if I could. read more

Very small lounge and basic Food options. I came in Tuesday noon and there was no waiting. The lounge was about half full. There aren't many tables that have power outlet. Food has muffins, apples, bananas, some cereal, candy, instant noodles, mix nut, dried bananas chips. In the fridge got small pasta salad, veggie bite, small sandwich, soft drinks and wine, beer. They are ok if you need some food while waiting for flights. Inside look kinda old. read more

As the only available Priority Pass lounge in Terminal 5, the Swissport Lounge serves its purpose of being a quiet place to sit down and grab a drink. An honor bar is available with liquors, wine and beer in the fridge as well as La Croix and sodas, and pre-packed sandwiches and pasta salads. My biggest challenge with this space was tight quarters, with seating unavailable and even fewer with power. I would love to see more power stations or outlets and more friendly seating to make it more likely to spend time in here. read more

Tiny lounge with two areas and a self service bar area.l with drinks and snacks. Nothing that fancy, but without having an airline status and just Priority Pass not a bad deal in the current Terminal 5 at O'Hare. :-) Self pour Jim Beam, red wine, Bacardi and Cognac. Beer, soft drinks, water and coffee machine. WiFi password is Swissport2023 Your mileage may vary based upon busy seasons/day/time. Since it's small could easily get full :-) read more

Wow, for an airport lounge, this place was shockingly bad. Once and if you do finally get in, the 1 star is for the basic free liquor, beer, wine, beverages, and packaged snacks that are available, but that's about it. One of our co-travelers had access to this lounge as a credit card perk, so it's kinda you get what you pay for. I certainly wouldn't pay any real money for access. First, they are overcrowded as they service quite a few mostly foreign airlines. Secondly the lounge is not that big, and people are turned away if the lounge is filled. We had to wait in a line outside of their entrance for about 30 minutes just for people to leave. Once you do get in, you just have to find an open seat and likely you can't sit with your group if you're traveling with more than 1 or 2. There are also no windows and you feel like you're in a basement. There are also no restrooms. I guess it's still better than nothing, but there is definitely a hassle factor for using this place and you've been warned! read more

Where to begin. I had to waste an hour of my trip at work or ORD, so I opted for the airport because there was a PriorityOne Club and I could at least grab a quick drink and a nosh. Oh what a journey. The club is in the international terminal which is totally disconnected from everything else. OK, let's do this. Go through TSA and search for the club. Finally find it. A windowless space with all the charm of an emergency department waiting room. There are no waitstaff per se, rather attendants making sure the 'commissary' is stocked. This turns out to be a good news bad news scenario. Middle-shelf booze (Jack, Bombay Saphire, etc.) and I'm pouring it myself? I'm warming-up to this place. Somehow I feel like this place should be on the airport lounge bingo card for Amex Platinum cardholders. If you make it here, they should knock $100 of the annual fee. Definitely coming back because the bus ride across runway 1 was worth it. read more

As far as airport lounges go this one was probably upper middle range. Food selection was good however, location is small and gets crowded. They also seem to be a little bit understaffed and it takes a while to get your table serviced. In the end, though a good option for an airport lounge. This was at the Chicago O'Hare location. read more

If I could give this lounge a rating of ZERO, I would. From the moment we got in line with the lady yelling at customers, I knew this would be an interesting experience. It went from interesting to horrible quickly, the male attendant came to us and told us "we don't have snacks, also someone forgot to place the alcohol order, therefore we don't have wine or spirits." Then he told us our flight boarded after 7pm, therefore we couldn't enter because "we have a contract with another airline that starts at 7pm." When we said we'd be leaving the lounge at 7pm, he said the system wouldn't allow us to enter. Lastly, they had more than 10 people standing in line because "the lounge is full." We decided to remain in line and here's what we discovered: 1) when we arrived at the desk, the agent yelled at us "come in, PLEASE!" 2) when the desk agent asked what time our flight boarded, I told her 7pm. She checked us in. 3) when we entered the lounge, we found at least 50% of the seats were unoccupied (well more than the people waiting in line). 4) There were snacks. 5) There was both wine and spirits. In short, everything the attendant told us was a LIE!! I will NEVER visit this lounge again! I hope that you don't either. This was by far a negative experience from beginning to end. read more

Hate to see the undeserved hate for this lounge I have priority pass through the Chase sapphire and it literally never gets me in anywhere. But today it got me into the swissport lounge. Crushed a mimosa before arriving to the lounge and then I came here. They have Woodbridge wine, Jim beam, grey goose, Bacardi, dewar's, and other things that you can just pour for yourself. I poured myself a Dewar's bc there are those who don't, and then you have the Dewar's (at least that's what I aspire to be) Idk I like this lounge I would bring my parents here tbh read more

3.5. For a small Lounge, it gets the job done. It's surprisingly fits a decent number of people. Good coffee machine. I think the alcohol was self-serve. Sandwiches and veggies or pudding and something else were in the fridge next to beer and drinks. It could look a bit better. They probably need one more staff member. My complaint is that they said they closed at 11:00 a.m. with out publicizing it anywhere on the Priority Pass app or visibly there. 10 minutes to eat! The first time I tried to hustle here then another terminal, I was turned away bc it was closed to PP! Not 4.0 due to weird closures. O'hare needs a better lounge for Priority Pass! App: "07:00 - 21:00 daily... Access will be periodically restricted due to space constraints in particular during the hours of 15:00 - 20:30 daily." read more

Wow what a major disappointment! Flying Qatar Airline business class and was hoping for something much better. Booked tickets through American no wonder American passengers talked about using the lounge in terminal three and then busing over to terminal five because this place is a dump. Got excited when they said it was by gate M 13 and saw the Delta lounge which we used last fall and it's really nice. Then I turned my head and saw that the lounge was across the aisle. This place needs some serious work. I guess the one plus is you can pour your own drinks. Perhaps if I was totally wasted I would think this was a nice lounge. Truly sad read more

is there a zero stars? the hispanic lady working the front desk at around 12pm on Dec 26, 2025 is possibly one of the worst customer service and all around humans i have ever come across. clearly a line waiting outside that was being helped by the previous gentleman, who was letting people know information, asking us to line up and that he was letting one in one out due to capacity issues. once this lady came on she just yelled from her seat for people to line up to the left and then yelled constantly to ensure the door slid close. she then sat at her desk while 10-15 people left the lounge and said nothing to anyone waiting in line ti get in. after watching her have a 10 minute conversation with another worker and a few mor people came out i popped my head in and asked, "will you let us know when we should come in to check in" and her response was "no. i don't have a line". which males zero sense since she yelled at us to move the line to the left. an absolutely joke of a customer service worker and likely just a truly horrible person all around. good luck. also, this lounge is truly awful on top of it all. half the machines were put of service, barely any food, and it's basically a spot with chairs, might as well just stay out in the airport area. read more

Rated 3 on a personal 4 star limit for this. Visited lounge on an early Sunday am, so access was fine with my Priority Pass. I understand there are space limits and they even post hours where you may not get in (3 pm on) Much of the furniture is worn and tattered. Food is self service but they have a decent selection of quick serve items such as small sandwiches, veggie trays, pasta salad, granola bars, fig newtons, chips, nuts and so forth. Heat yourself ramen was available too. Plenty of soft drinks plus some beer and spirits are self serve too. Did not see vodka though. There may have been wine but I did not notice it. If you're looking for an admirals club experience or comparable, this is not it. It's self serve and practical at best. The space is not large, and there are 3-4 or so TVs scattered throughout. If you're connecting domestically, you have to leave security and go to international terminal 5 to access, so that's not convenient. But I had 2.5 hours to work with - I wouldn't do it for anything less. It was so early I forgot to take photos! (Photos are from online and seem to be representative of the current state) read more

This is easily the worst "lounge" I've ever been to. Little to no food selections. I'm currently eating cup noodles. There are TVs but they are turned off. We're all just in here staring at each other in this dark room with no windows or views. I was told that I could only stay for 30 mins because Priority Pass members have to leave by 3:30pm. But that is fine with me because I'd honestly rather wait at the gate. This room feels like a holding cell. Serious renovations and better quality service are needed. In no way is this a "priority" or "premium" experience. read more

Okay so this was my first lounge so I'm not really disappointed but based on what others have said based on their experience at other lounges it could have been better. My biggest issue was having to leave the domestic terminal only to go to international then having to clear security again. Once there they had an open bar but the food was nothing to write home about. They had cup of noodles I haven't eaten that since I was in my twenties struggling to make ends meet. I think 6 would have to suggest only going here if you have at least 2 hours to burn and then only wanting a few drinks and considering food as a plus. read more

Contrary to what it says on the priority pass app, the lounge is actually located a little past gate m13. Take a right once you're out of security and it's directly across from the delta lounge. Was able to get in with priority pass though I know a lot of people have said they've had trouble. I went on a Thursday around 8:30-9:00am. Overall the lounge is pretty dingy. Pretty small with worn out chairs, but they have outlets and WiFi for you to get some work. Snacks are fine. All prepackaged stuff like some chips and granola bars. They have some cold plates like pasta in the fridge and a variety of alcoholic/non-alcoholic items. Overall, it's serviceable if you can get in while you're in terminal 5, but if you end up getting rejected I wouldn't be too mad. You're really not missing much compared to some other international lounges. read more

We have the Priority Pass with AMEX. We started out at the Air France Lounge but had to leave because they reserve the lounge for their passengers from 12-5. That was a beautiful club with a buffet. Delicious food. Then we came to the Swissport Lounge. The only thing Swiss about it was the SwissMiss in the refrigerator. The lounge reminded me of a hospital waiting room with a fridge, booze, and some snacks. Not a place to go if you have to pay to get in. read more

Not sure why this lounge is even listed for priority pass members. Was turned away because they do not accept customers "after 3 pm", which feels like a sorry excuse to not have to deal with people even though I see a lot of vacant spots. Very underwhelming This is basically feels like your uncles living room. A few snacks, beverages, and a mixture of well used furniture. It is slightly better than waiting at the gate, but considering how Priority Pass is hyped up, this is far from any kind of premium experience and definitely does not meet expectations. This lounge is disappointing. It feels crowded despite only being at half capacity. Few outlets. No windows. No hot food, mediocre food selection. Looking forward to the airplane food. Men's room is out of service and women's room has only one stall. Was happy to see a bidet toilet, but the bidet features didn't work. Fortunately the toilet was clean and functional. Swissport Lounge does give access to Priority Pass customers but only when there's ample room. I got there at 9am on a Thursday. Air India, Alitalia, Royal Jordanian, Etihad Airways, LOT Polish Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, and Finnair customers are all ironically a priority over Priority Pass customers. They don't have a bathroom or a sink. The lounge itself is somewhat underwhelming, especially if you've ever been an an Amex lounge. The chairs are worn, it's small, and minimally decorated. The worker(s) are only at the entrance desk. The food and drink is self serve: Tea and coffee machine Cookies, chips, snacks, oatmeal packet, ramen packets, pasta salad, and mini sandwiches like you'd find elsewhere in the airport. White and red wine, Josh brand Beer includes Stella, Sapporo, and PBR Liquor includes Jameson, Jim Bean, Dewar's, Grey Goose, Bicardi, and Sapphire Plus mixers read more

An underwhelming, almost disappointing lounge. It's just a small room with single-seat sofas. Self-serves what is essentially airplane snack food, with options like pretzels, nuts, and so on, from jars. The floors are not filthy but they are dirtied with crumbs and stains. The seats are somewhat clean. About the noise level of a restaurant inside, since space is limited and demand is high. Bathroom reeked. Wi-Fi doesn't work. Flies are present throughout the area. It is somewhat better than sitting by the gates, although only because it feels exclusive. At the very least, the snacks are free. read more

I understand lounges have been so busy lately but the people working that day were not having it with us. We were super excited to get lounge access before our 10-hour flight and planned to come a bit early to do that. Went on a Wednesday morning around 9:00am and waited in the line that was already established (out the door too). They were not accepting people unless they had status with the specific airline. The thing that made this experience terrible was that they sounded so frustrated with the people still standing in line when we could not hear them from outside? It's one thing to tell us no but another to be so annoyed. Maybe have a sign outside to help with the communication? read more

The lounge is completely empty but the lady on the front desk told me that they are not taking priority pass members because they are full? Full of Ghosts maybe because I peeped and not a single person on the seat. Very rude. Priority Pass should drop this lounge from their list. After 1/2 hour I tried again because the front desk lady changed. Now this sweet let me get in ; The lounge is still pretty empty. Packaged dry snacks like you get in vending machines, coffee, tea and drinks. But I am not complaining because after 45 mins they let me in. read more

I wish I had read the reviews before because I didn't realize they would not accept (or at least frown upon) Priority Pass - even though it is listed on the PP app. Despite there being plenty of seats available, the lady looked at my ticket and told me they were only accepting first and business class. I guess I was lowly economy class and not worthy of their subpar experience. I've been rejected from better places!!! The kicker was she looked at my ticket and the last thing she said was try back after 8pm. Ummm, my flight leaves at 7:25pm. And I'm sure you know that because you studied my boarding pass. Really?! So I had to carry my pathetic self to sit in general population. Oh well...I'm a mere mortal after all! read more

I went to the Swiss port lounge on 4/15/24 at around 12pm the Chicago ohare airport in Terminal 5. It was the worst first time experience ever using priority pass! The person helping me was a woman with dark hair with glasses. When I first went in, I was denied access because they said they were full. So I walked around and came back 15 minutes later. I was then told that the scanner was not charged and needs to be charged. I asked her if I could just show her my number on the app to show that it's valid. She said no because it must be scanned. The experience was horrible. She was rude and playing games on her phone. I called priority pass to see if they can do something on their end. Maybe verify my membership or something. Priority pass asked to talk to the person in Swiss port lobby so I passed the phone to the Swiss attendant and she was still being rude! Even to the priority pass people! She is now telling them that the scanner is not working. There's 5 other priority pass holders there and I asked her, but it's the machine charged now? She said, like I said, the machine is not working. Rudely by the way with a lobby full of people. So we all left the lobby. I then talked to priority pass asked to be transferred to a manager to complain. When I got a manager on the phone, gave him my story and he asked to talk to the Swiss port attendant. When I walked in, she rudely said that she cannot keep talking to priority pass people! I couldn't believe it!! The priority pass manager asked for her name and she said she won't give it to me. The next thing she can give me is her manager's email. I left the lobby and made a complaint with them. read more

Again, this lounge does not fail to disappoint. Tried checking in at 11am and they are closed.

Guilty of looking at reviews and not listening to them, *raises hand* Do not, absolutely do not, come here if you have priority pass. They will not accept you. They will only accept you if you have an euro international airline, including Swiss and 3 others I didn't catch the front desk lady name. She was very monotone and scripted when she said that priority pass is not accepted, something she's probably said a hundred times before. Not sure why priority pass has it on their app. It was actually really hard to find, but it is directly in front of delta sky lounge. Upon arrival, it didn't look great inside, windowless, and restroom out of order sign up. read more

Worst lounge I have been in. There are better lounges than this in developing countries. Toilets are out of service. I read a review from 8 months ago that also said that toilets were out of service then. I doubt if they were ever fixed. Food sucks. Chips, snacks, pathetic looking cold sandwiches. They do have alcohol, wine and beer. Having been to the Qatar lounges in Doha I don't understand why they would sully their brand by letting their customers suffer this experience. read more
