I couldn't be happier with my kitchen remodel job by iBuild! The process from start to finish was pretty smooth and the final outcome outstanding! Tony the owner is very easy to do business with, honest and down-to-earth. Adam is his remodeling guy, and I couldn't be more pleased with his professionalism, work ethic, attention to detail and quality of his work! Definitely would recommend iBuild to anyone looking for any type of home remodeling! I know I will use them again in the future! Lori K.

We recently completed a first floor renovation with iBuild and are exceptionally pleased with the results. Our project included installing hardwood, all new trim and interior doors on the first floor, new windows, lofting our family room ceiling, masonry on the exterior brick and interior fire place, load bearing wall removal (including installing a 16 foot steel header beam), relocating the powder room door and a full kitchen gut - to the studs (which included plumbing, electric, etc.) We went into the project with a rough plan for the kitchen. Tony and Michelle worked with us from the start to modify the kitchen design to maximize efficiency in our space and fit our family's habits and needs. We revised and tweaked the design several times based on changes we made and recommendations from them. With each of their recommendations, they explained the "why" behind it - after designing so many kitchen spaces, they are experts and understand functionality and flow - and now that we're in our finished space, I appreciate every change they recommended. Their experience was what we needed to achieve a well-designed kitchen. Like any project, there were unknown factors until the demolition was finished and you could see what was behind the walls. And like most projects, we had a few challenges. Voytek, on Tony's team, found solutions for every problem to ensure we achieved our goals and the space was what we had envisioned. Tony made sure we did so, within budget. Our daily team included Slavic and Chris. They were respectful, easy to work with and cleaned up where they'd been working each day - we were still living in the home during the renovation so this was especially appreciated. They were able to take a photo I would send to them of a finished element - trim, a new mantle, etc - and recreate it to fit into our space, giving us a truly customized project. Their attention to detail was meticulous. Patti works in the iBuild office and was available to answer our questions, provide suggestions and help keep our project on track. She was instrumental in getting our permit and provided the dose of humor we needed to keep us sane during the renovation. She's Tony's right hand and keeps a very busy team on track. I have shared my experience and iBuild's phone number with those I know who are looking for help with their own renovation. Our house will need additional work in the future and we will be going back to iBuild for those renovations. I highly, highly recommend them.

This was our small bathroom before - lacked storage, lacked proper lighting and dated subway tile (50 years dated)

These guys were great. I had 5 quotes to rehab an old bathroom project. My house is very old so I needed guys with experience working in our neighborhood. Tony gave me a price that was extremely reasonable - second most affordable of the 5. On Day 1 of construction Voytek and Erik showed up and taped the work area to prevent any wear of bringing in equipment. 3 weeks later the bathroom is complete and fully inspected - and completed on budget. There were typical mis-fires for a project but Tony did exactly what was needed to correct the small issues and get us back on track. Extremely impressed, we'll be using them on our master bathroom in the Fall. Thanks Erick, Roman, Aleks, Voytek and Tony!

The work that they did was great! Our bathroom is beautiful!

It promised to be a big job to build back, and after collecting quotes from several Chicago-area contractors for the project, we went forward with Miro and Homewise Remodelers. They were the most responsive out of our vendor list, and priced their work fairly, sensibly, and realistically. And we're so glad we went with Homewise on this project. They were clean, consistent, easy to work with--and they liked our cats, too! The project was delivered mostly on schedule and mostly on budget (the only overage was the purchase of additional bags of cement for fixing the floors--but this was explained early and clearly and was not a surprise cost). And now we have a functional basement again. Thanks Homewise!

He helped us select cabinets and worked through several versions of the kitchen layout until we were happy with it--we were easily able to swap out cabinet layouts and finishings, like adding a farmhouse sink. His crew were reliable, on-time, and respectful of our property throughout the remodel and we appreciated their attention to detail. They solicited our input on decorative details and were quick to fix things we didn't like, e.g., the location of kitchen cabinet pulls. We felt they treated our home as they would their own. The project even wrapped up a few days early. We would absolutely recommend Homewise Remodelers and choose them for future projects.

We felt like we were in someone else's home. Someone who had a lot more money than us! Martins isn't just a builder, or a designer. He's an artist. When you bring someone into your home to change it forever, you have to trust that person. When Martins came by for our first free consultation (something other people had charged us for), he stayed for two hours. He wanted to get to know us, and figure out exactly what kind of home we wanted. To say he cares about his work is an understatement! Other people we looked at charged us for that first visit, came in, took measurements, were out in 30 minutes, and then provided some cookie-cutter recommendations. Besides his off-the-charts talent, he is honest, flexible, responsive and easy and fun to work with... not to mention reasonable. Professionalism: From the outset, the owner, Karl, demonstrated outstanding professionalism. He provided a prompt, competitive estimate, and the final cost actually came in slightly under budget. Karl and his partner David handled all the work themselves--eliminating the typical delays and coordination issues that come with juggling multiple subcontractors. Creativity and Craftsmanship: Karl's insight during the planning phase helped us reimagine the layout to maximize both space and functionality. Karl and David brought an old-world craftsmanship and an impeccable attention to detail to every stage of the process. High-quality materials were used throughout, and Karl's network of skilled artisans--including a stone mason and glass cutter--ensured that every component was expertly sourced and installed at a fair price. In short, ABA Remodeling delivered exceptional quality and service at a value that's hard to beat. Jim and his team at Independent Remodeling did an amazing job on our first-floor renovation,…read moreexceeding our expectations. From the start, Jim was responsive and easy to work with. He has great ideas and isn't afraid to tell you if something you want to do isn't necessarily worth the expense (which we very much appreciated). They delivered high-quality work that leveraged their knowledge and expertise to ensure our new space was functional and beautiful. Some things you look for in a general contractor and rarely find are the ability to stay close to budget and timelines, and Jim and his team did both of these! Jim does a thorough of a job putting designs/estimates together, and the only change order we had (that wasn't scope creep on our part) was for some poor electrical a previous owner did that Jim couldn't have anticipated. In addition, Jim keeps your project moving. We rarely went two days without someone at the house making progress on our project; there were no extended delays due to materials or labor issues. Jim and his team also excel at problem solving. Every project has hiccups along the way, but every issue is tackled and Jim won't stop until the solution works for you. As an example, we were having trouble matching the color of some new hardwood floors to older, existing floors in the house. He helped us put down 16 stain samples and promised we would keep trying until we got it right (and we finally did!). It was very clear our happiness was extremely important to him. If you are looking for a contractor who is honest, knowledgeable, responsive, efficient, affordable, and fun to work with, Independent Remodeling is who you should work with. It's hard to find a company you would want to use a second time, but Jim will be the first person we call for future projects in our house, and who we will recommend to friends and family if they are looking to complete a project in their home.

When I turned on water when remodeling was done, they actually told me the brown water that initially comes out is from the copper pipes, and I believed them! Well, years later looking at brown water, the whole faucet came off the wall. Added picture. I had to get a plumber to come in, open the wall, put an actual tub pipe in, and have someone fix the wall, plumber come back to attach faucet. He couldn't believe that Independent Remodeling didn't drive 2 min to a store to get the right pipe. They were probably behind schedule and used whatever was in the truck. The amount of things wrong with this bathroom is insane. It's great when you're done and easy to be happy because you have your house back, but if you want long term quality, do not go with this company. When doing the initial walk-through explaining what I wanted, there were no notes taken. I thought that was weird but they are professionals and I figured it's what they do. That was, until plugs ended up in the wrong spot, etc. they did something wrong while installing a very expensive showerhead and fixture, and the solution was to put gum in it which took no time to get brown with mildew. The tiles were not laid properly and are cracking. They did come back a year later to redo it, but they are the same quick job. There's something behind the tile that is not letting water flow to the showerhead, we had all new piping done with them. They also hung a giant mirror with a thin wire. They had to come back after year because it was starting to pull off the frame. They just glued it to the wall. It is now peeling from the wall and is about to fall on someone. So after just a few years I am looking for a handyman to fix all these problems which may include taking down the new tile, so I thought I would share that this probably isn't a good solution if you're looking for a long-term bathroom redo.
