So happy this place opened up a couple blocks from my house.... IB Thai didn't disappoint in anyway. The lady who took our order was nice and worked as fast as she could to try to help the line that gathered after we sat down. The food was great. The Cho-Chi Salmon was a bit on the bland side... but nothing a dash of salt can't fix. Husband loved his Mango Curry, son loved his Yellow Curry and my other 3 little ones enjoyed Chow Mein and we all enjoyed the Fresh Rolls with Shrimp and some Chicken Satay. We had dinner there around 6:30pm it is now 9:15pm and I am still full from dinner and I have leftovers! Awesome place! Totally recommend!!!! Can't to return to try other dishes!!! read more

My wife, kids, and I cam here a few days ago to try it since it opened a couple of blocks near us. We love Thai food. Appearance: First glance they did a great job remodeling the space that replaced the old run Chinese Food that use to be in that spot. Very clean fresh look. My favorite color is grey and its a nice cool calm look inside Customer Service: There were 2 employees that I noticed. 1 cook, 1 cashier. We only dealt with the cashier and she was VERY polite and eager to take care of us as guest even a bit anxious to showcase the new restaurant. We felt super appreciated and taken care of on our first visit Food: My wife had Cho-Chi (pronounced Co-Chi) salmon with veggies/rice I had the Mango Curry My son had Yellow Curry My 3 other kids had Chicken Noodles (Lo-Mein) We all had Chicken Satays and Fresh rolls with peanut sauce Very good flavors! Curry is my absolute favorite food across many different cultures. Ive never had the mango it was nice and sweet Im glad I tried it. Its not my preferred style. The yellow was very good, standard taste for yellow thai curry. I am VERY excited to try their green curry next it's loaded with ingredients on the menu, and also the Mussamen which Im not sure which kind of curry it is but it includes peanuts which is always a plus in thai food. The satays and fresh rolls were very good and peanut sauce was perfect. I tried some of my wifes Cho-Chi and its flavorfull but missing something to really make the dish itself stand out. No place is perfect and there's always room for improvement! Hands down this place is 5 stars. Its small, clean, friendly and has delicious food! I feel that this place is closer to restaurant quality than it is to takeout/fast food. The one improvement I would love to see here is for food served to dine in guests be on plates and bowls instead of the Styrofoam stuff they use for takeout orders. Alright the competition begins! Noodle Noodle vs Siam Imperial vs IB Thai! So we ordered the drunken noodles with chicken level 6 spicy, tofu cashew nut level 5 spicy, and fresh rolls with tofu. I have to say based on portion sizes, seasoning, and presentation IB Thai is right there with Siam Imperial. The fresh rolls were twice the size and quantity as Noodle Noodle and only a dollar more! They were amazing and the sauces tasted very fresh! The drunken noodles were so delicious and not greasy at all! Level 6 spicy tastes pretty mild so I'm thinking about going up to 8 on the next meal. The tofu was cooked perfectly with the cashew nut, my wife really enjoyed it! I'm very please and excited for this new Thai restaurants do cannot wait to try more food! Taking my daughter here to enjoy her favorite Pad si ew with vegetables with a spicy level of 3 yesterday was my second visit to this establishment which used to be a fast food Chinese place. My boyfriend took me once a while ago to check it out knowing I love Thai food. His IG handle is ibcam so this new place was also an appropriate play on his IG name. I recall being impressed by this cute little dine in or take out place with the rich flavors of seemingly home cooked Thai food. We were not disappointed to the order of Pad si ew we shared knowing they give generous portions. Being a Sunday, I was disappointed that their lunch specials were not available during the weekend even though it was not clearly specified on the menu. They really should write in parenthesis next to Lunch specials on their menu (M-F Only) or (not available on weekends). However, the flavors satisfied my Pad si ew yearnings. The vegetables were fresh and the food prepared was made to order with lots of sauce and spices. They listen to their customers and accommodate accordingly because when I asked for some fish sauce with peppers, they said they didn't offer that because of the smell but that they had something else and gave me another accenting sauce concoction with peppers. It seemed like a vinegar base but it was comparably good nonetheless. They decorated the place to give it a more appealing modern charm and not just a fast food Thai place. Unfortunately the private parking lot is very tight but workable if u enter from the West Side of the lot. The place gives you a homy feeling of comfort being served by a family and possibly a husband and wife duo where they have their under 10years old daughter come to watch the counter while the adult staff is back in the kitchen. Imperial Beach still has Mom and pop shops that I encourage and support! I'd give this 5 stars but I took off one because the food was super spicy and almost unbearable to which I only ordered it a 3 spicy level out of 1-10. So watch out and order a 1 or 2 because you can always add spicy levels. Otherwise, a great family run Thai place found in IB I will frequent! read more
