This is the email I sent the morning after getting my phone "fixed"
"Hi! My name is Samantha. I came in last night (Wednesday 8-9-17) and was skeptical about getting my phone screen fixed. I asked a couple questions about prices, how long it would take, and what would happen if you guys handed the phone back to me and it wasn't working. I asked that about 3 times, because I've only heard bad things about getting your phone fixed at any mall.
I've never had a problem with my phone. It's only about a year old. It's not slow. It never has had water damage. I dropped it about a month ago and it shattered. Luckily, nothing else was wrong with the phone, just my fingers were getting scratched from the broken screen. It still wasn't slow. I held on to the broken phone for a month because I was hesitant about paying so much when the phone was still in perfect shape- just not on the outside.
When the manager handed my phone back, it looked great. I slid it to unlocked and it worked fine. I payed and walked away, and left the mall.
When I got to where I was going, about 20 minutes after getting the phone back, I went to send a text and immediately realized there was an issue. The phone was hitting all kinds of buttons while my fingers weren't on the screen. It was trying to send texts, going back to see all my text messages, going in new text messages, pushing more buttons. It was actually scary. If I was on the call screen, it would click someones name. Even if I put the phone down it was still hitting buttons. I called the number on the receipt and left a message. I was going to drive back up to Cherry Hill Mall, but after about 25-30 minutes, I realized when I was typing another text, random buttons weren't being clicked anymore. I was able to type and not be interrupted. So I stayed home and hoped that was the end of it.
I woke up this morning (8-10-17) and it went back to crazy. I couldn't text anything because you couldn't tell what I was saying. So many random buttons were being pressed. I would try to delete them but it kept happening. Every once in a while, it would calm down. Only hit maybe 1 button every 20 seconds. I still wasn't okay with this. I have a couple videos during this time. I took them with my Boss's phone and sent them to myself. I waited about until 10am and drove back to the mall, about 15 hours after the screen was put on.
There, the same manager, without a problem, pulled the first new screen off and put a new one on. He handed me the phone back and it was still doing the same exact thing!! He took the 2nd new screen off and put a third new one on. He handed it back and it had glitches.
I told the manager that I was going on vacation tomorrow (8-11-17) for a week. I was nervous that if I waited until then that the workers wouldn't help me since I didn't come in right away. He told me to come back in after vacation because he would be ordering a new batch of screens. That is my plan. He said I have 30 days. But my question is- what happens if 30 days pass and my phone is still sending random emails and texts, calling people when the phone isn't in my hand? I have to lock my phone all the time now... not too bad. But when I'm typing a work email and random buttons get pressed, sometimes the "send" button is hit... I'm not okay with that. What happens when 30 days hits and I'm completely screwed?
The manager there is extremely nice, barely asked any questions when I came to him in a panic 15 hours after the phone screen was put on. This is helpful in stressful situations like this. But it didn't fix my phone. I rather have cut up fingers from a cracked screen than have a phone that seems possessed!
If you give me a cell phone number, I can send a video of some of the occurrences in a text message if needed.
Thank you for any information or answers. I'm very worried about this."
The phone became so unusable that I needed something to happen. I received one email asking where the problem happened. This was my second email:
"The problems have only gotten worse! It seems to be at different times. Sometimes the phone is UNUSABLE. So many buttons pressed. Facebook posts posted when the phone is set down. Phone calls made on the phone screen when the phone is set down. And it's all very rapid. Sometimes it's less crazy but still a complete nuisance."
No email from them after that.
After vacation, I went right back to the kiosk. It was so bad I needed something fixed. He put on the fourth new screen and the old issues that the new screens caused are gone. NEW issues came. The phone completely freezes randomly until it dims down and the screen goes black.
The issue I'm having is that I can't get a response from you guys. I have emailed numerous time and have received 2 emails back in total- neither helpful. Just "we'll get back to you"
Can I please have some help? It has almost been a month of dealing with this. skaddis11@gmail.com read more
