Service is prompt, courteous, and professional. Staff are welcoming and overall the time to fit and order the needed glasses was short.

I LOVE Gregory's Optical - they are beyond AWESOME! I stopped in today (early-mid January 2025) to…read morepick up my brand new Alain Mikli sunnies. They're gorgeous, stylish, handcrafted and totally rockin' my world. Gregory's Optical highly personalized service is bar none - no question about it. These people are professional, knowledgable, friendly, efficient, expedient, low-key (no hard selling tactics here - ever), and, a complete pleasure to deal with. I've patronized their business spanning decades. I first saw them on Thayer Street on the East Side of Providence abutting Brown University. I followed them to Wickenden Street in Foxpoint and now to their newest location at 91 Hope Street. Aside from their outstanding highly personalized client services, I've remained with Gregory's Optical because of their vast selection of excellent quality upscale global brands with outstanding competitive pricing. For a sublime boutique shopping experience for fine prescription eyewear, please visit opticians extraordinaire Michael (proprietor) and Rebecca - who continue the professional experienced traditions and practices started by Michael's Russian-American parents decades ago. While I dearly miss Gregory and Dora, I fully trust Michael and Rebecca to fulfill all my optician services and prescription eyewear needs. They ROCK!!

Michael was patient and had a great sense of humor to assist my child. The glasses were in so quickly. When we came in to try on they fit like a glove! The lady that works for Michael was friendly and helpful as well! The price was appropriate for the product. We will be back soon, for me :)

I hate buying new glasses. Too many years of feeling like I was being taken to the bloody cleaners…read morein Connecticut, Mexico, St. Louis MO, Chicago....many years/many prescriptions as I aged. Oye. So I enlisted my kind husband to be my secondary mirror to go buy a pair of NEW (egad, the last time I got new glasses in MA I had to return them for a refund...they were a mess making me a mess too). And saw Jeffrey. His kindness, his questions asking me about issues no one--no doctor, no optician had ever asked about. YIKES. BEST optician in 7 countries I've lived in. Though to be fair, I was younger and without glasses often in some of those countries. So thanks Jeffrey. I trust you so much that I'm writing this waiting for my new glasses knowing you'll be there for me and others.

Well...Jeff has lost 200 dollars from me at minimum…read more.. Jeff--I believe that's the name of the business owner and I were talking about our cats and then he suddenly paused...before saying something extremely racist. To be clear, I am white. I believe the hesitation was to consider if it was "safe" to make the joke that he did. The shop is not a large space and I did not want to lose my temper and escalate anything, so I pretended to laugh and told him I needed my relatives' approval before buying anything. Well. I have a lot of racist relatives. They would defend this man. I won't. I will not give him money, theirs, mine, or anyone else's. It's sad to hear a local business owner and operator, otherwise welcoming, kind and polite, talk like that because it undoes his kindness--he's only willing to show it to people who look like he does. It's disturbing because this is not the screaming, overt racism of domestic terrorists and our government of 2026. it's insidious. It's literally in our mom and pop next door local businesses. I'm not going to repeat what he said. Doubtless, he has many excuses for it. I would, sadly, for the sake of his cats, who sound delightful, warn my friends of every color not to give this man an income. There was and is no excuse on this planet for what he said. Please consider that if you shop here, you are supporting his racism.
