We were starving in the middle of nowhere driving to Kansas, and we stumbled upon this diner. The staff is absolutely amazing and the food was fantastic! We ordered fried chicken, Mac and cheese and a club sandwich. It was all fresh, tasted homemade and delicious! I highly recommend stopping in this diner if you're in the area. The food is awesome. Service is iffy, but i understand bc they are so busy all the time. My only real complaint is cleanliness. They need to get an employee who just cleans or a better bus boy. The bathrooms were awful. The floors in there were so sticky. And the high chair was unbelievable. We used 5 wet wipes before the front bar wasn't black. read more

My son and I stopped here for a Saturday morning breakfast. Regs were good, bacon was cooked well, pancakes weren't overdone. My only complaint is that it took over half an hour to get our food- which is like 2 hours with a wiggly toddler. Would I come back? If I'm ever around, yes. read more

Surprised at some of the more negative reviews. Found the diner to be clean and very authentic. (I did like the fact that they didn't play 50"s rock and roll. Too over done... We're playing 70"s album rock while we were there.) As to the food: I ordered the "Huge Chicken Fried Steak Dinner". It was the best CFS if had in years. My wife wife had the "Monte Cristo". She thought it was marvelous. Home made mashed potatoes from scratch. Sad thing is I was too full to get a shake... With a couple of Cherry Pepsi's the Bill came to about $21. Not bad for a decent dinner. Quick service and clean restrooms. Good choice while traveling I-70. I'll be back. read more

The food was fantastic! I had the interstate sampler and stuffed myself until my plates were clean. Everything is made from scratch and you can taste the difference. They seemed a little short staffed on a Sunday afternoon so the food took awhile, but it was worth the wait. Great music playing too! read more

Oh my goodness the food is so gross! They messed up our order, and then when they brought it back out, it was one of the nastiest things I've ever eaten. My Mom couldn't eat hers either as it was just disgusting. This is unfortunate because my boyfriend said this was his favorite diner, so as we were driving through, we definitely wanted to give it a try. Come to find out it was his favorite diner before they underwent new owners. The tables were also very gross and dirty. Everything in this place was very unclean. The review left by Tres B. is spot on. The only thing going for this place is that it is one of remarkably few non-fast-food-chain joints in the Eastern Colorado I-70 corridor. Beyond that, it was a complete waste of time and money. When we saw the cards on the table asking us to help them get on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives", we were not sure what to think. Maybe this would be great food. In retrospect, I think this joint would more appropriately be featured on Food Network's "Health Inspectors". Despite being a pleasant 63F degrees outside on an Autumn day, it remained a sweltering 83-84 degrees inside during our entire visit, as evidenced by the thermostat directly above our booth. (The A/C/heat system was turned off completely). This was not only uncomfortable, it added to our concerns for the food safety back in the kitchen. We came in at the latter end of the lunch rush, around 2:30 pm, when it was about half full and dwindling. Nevertheless, we waited over 10 minutes for a server and another 10-15 minutes for a simple burger and fries. They forgot to ask and forgot to bring any toppings for the burgers (tomatoes, lettuce, etc). We had to ask for those separately. As for the food, we could have done almost as good at any fast food chain, in a fraction of the time. The waitstaff was disinterested, my side salad came with the wrong dressing, the seats and tables were all greasy, and the restroom did not seem to have been cleaned since the 50's, when this diner likely saw its better days. (The diner structure was recently purchased from up north and re-located to this location). When we paid, I glanced back into the kitchen to see filth all over the floor. read more

Food was decent but the service was not good at all. The waiter ignored us for about 15 minutes and was overall rude the whole time.

Went in excited to eat at this cute lil place. Stood there waiting to be seated while one guy cashed out a couple people. There was also a waitress taking an order so we were patient waiting for them to finish up to seat us. When they finished they started talking and messing with other stuff eventually walking to the kitchen. They both seen us but never said "hi", "be with you in a minute ", nothing at all. If you are a millennial or yuppie wanting to plug in your electric car and complain you should stop plug your car in pay the 150 dollars for (300 Kwh) and go. If you are a down to earth friendly person that likes good food, large portions, great price, and talking with others then you should go in have a good meal and enjoy the company. We were crossing the country and absolutely starving. Out of nowhere a pink Cadillac sitting high in the air marked our oasis. Diner!! A word that conjures up gastro horror memories for me and complete joy for my husband. I am happy to report that we were blown away by the menu and the retro decor immediately!! This place rocks. Looked cool from the outside!! Sat at the bar and immediately saw that if I was a local, I would have had great service...unfortunately I didn't get that. After my order was taken by a less than friendly server, I had to do the rest. My lunch sat in the window for 10 minutes as the server passed over it 3 times and I had to ask another to get my order for me...the fries were old and not even lukewarm. I had to ask another server for hot fries...the chicken club was chewy and tough. I never saw my server again and had to get my own mayo...but the local next to me was taken well care of. The atmosphere is nice, pretty clean, good size menu...a lot to choose from! Waitress wasn't very attentive..got our own silverware, had to ask for water refills, never came to check if everything was good or needed anything else. No senior citizens discount. I got excited pulling up to the establishment, it looked darling. They were quick to seat and feed us, but slow to refill water and coffee. The food was nothing better than Denny's or IHOP. After eating, we needed to get back on the road but stood at the counter for over 15 minutes before the server was ready for us to pay. We stopped for breakfast after being frozen off the roads on I 70. The waitress was awesome and kept us in coffee as we defrosted. The heuvos rancheros was hot and delicious; and was so big it was overflowing the sides. The hash browns were crisp and hot. My man ordered a steak omelette....it came out as a roast beef omelette...why call it a steak omelette ...just call it what it is, so we don't have to send it back. This place was like an oasis. We were driving back from Utah on the way to Indianapolis after getting married. We had been on the road for the last 4-5 days and had passed the novelty of fast food that we never eat at home. Everything about the experience was great, from the decor, both inside & out, to the wonderful food, great service & CHEAP! Hubby ordered breakfast (yummy chicken fried steak) & I ordered the 2 piece fried chicken lunch. You can pick breasts or thighs or legs & it comes with corn & a side dish. I picked the roasted potatoes, which were great! So was the chicken & the corn! I will have the leftovers tomorrow! The whole bill was $16! We were on a long trip when we came across this place. If I had to compare this restaurant with IHOP and BOB EVAN's, this place would be a topper on American breakfast. The ambiance was so 50's and the food was awesome. Being on the long trip for so long, our expectations were quite low for getting good quality food in the middle of nowhere. I wish we had the same kind in our hometown. The owners seemed to have a passion about 50's and all the decor was so bright and tastefully done. It was a delight to sit there. We stumbled across this place while driving to Denver. There really isn't much in the town other than a couple of gas stations and this diner. The food was good, the service was fantastic, and the diner itself is a great throwback to the 1950's. I would definitely recommend stopping here. read more
