"If grace can come from Shakespeare's tales, then I'm sure something can be done about the way this bathroom smells." It seems someone has been preoccupied doing something besides what their job requires on this day, yes it's the travel season but geez these restroom weren't so pleasing. Sometimes it feels like you just can't hold on - be strong and keep driving during your holiday travel you'll be glad you did and the staff here will have a chance, a small chance to keep up with the cleaning under such extraordinary conditions. If it's a normal weekday the odds are you'll be fine, I've found both to be true, your experience here maybe completely different, it's even odds so roll the dice if you must...

This is a really nice rest area just off I-10 heading west. Very easy to her off and back on the interstate. They have clean bathrooms and the entire area is well-maintained. There's a large area to walk your dog/dogs, but they are requires to be on a leash. Also, please be considerate and make sure to clean up after your pet. They have quite a few vending machines with a lot of good choices. There are drink machines, snack machines, a hot coffee machine, and even an ice cream machine. In the drink machines you'll find the usual soda and water, but you'll also find various other drinks such as juices, bottled SBUX coffee, and even Arizona teas. If you're looking to have a picnic, there are plenty of covered picnic tables that are clean and well-kept. It's nice to have the shade from the hot Florida sun. I do feel safe here even at night because, like most all rest areas in Florida, they do have armed security who patrols the area. If you find yourself driving at night and are really tired, this is a good place to pull over and get a couple of hours of sleep while feeling safe.

Average rest area on westbound Interstate 10 in Madison County, Florida. While it appears clean on the outside, the restrooms require work. Four stalls, three urinals, five sinks, and three hand dryers on the wall. One sink off to the side that sprays water all over when you are attempting to wash your hands. Rest area worker wearing headphones and playing on his cell phone in the control booth. I stood behind the booth for several minutes watching him. Photos attached. Vending machines offer plenty of drinks, snacks as well as coffee. Plenty of parking and picnic tables. Had it not been for the dirty restrooms, I would have given this rest area 4 stars. /s/ William E. Lewis Jr. Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

After watching the fellow in security booth sleep for awhile. Assumed he must be security, but maybe he's the cleaning guy. Ladies' restrooms were closed for cleaning, while he slept. Came back in after 40 minutes or so. The other side of womens' closed for cleaning, guy gone from security booth. Cleaning?? What cleaning. The restrooms stink of urine & no cleaning odors evident. Toilets have stains in bottom, no recent cleaning to be sure. Obviously, this is usual for staff, at least this fellow. Anyone can see him and that he is sleeping. To be paid for sleeping?? Water is not potable: DO NOT DRINK ... The one they do have is parking & the outside maintenance is good. The same can not be said for the cleanliness of the facility.

When you gotta go-you gotta go! It served its purpose and was a step up from some of the gas stations.

There is plenty of parking for cars, but it looked like the truck parking for the tractor trailers was a bit tight. This rest area is just south of the Gainesville, Florida exits. All in all, I would definitely recommend this rest area. It was clean and a good place to stretch your legs.

This is a large rest area just south of a Gainesville on I-75, with lots of parking for both cars and trucks. The location is very "southern" and pretty; big shady oak trees with lots of hanging Spanish moss. There are dozens of big covered picnic tables, not too close together, each one is like a little pavilion. Some are reserved for handicapped guests. The bathrooms were huge, with multiple entrances. (I assume this is so they can clean 1/2 at a time & still keep the other 1/2 open.). The facilities were clean, with plenty of soap and working air dryers. They also had baby changing tables and a family bathroom. There was a good assortment of vending machines, all pretty well stocked. There are paths that you can walk through; but unfortunately none of the paths took you into the Payne's Prairie Preserve. There was a chain link fence separating rest area from Mother Nature, but we walked up to the fence & could see multiple gators swimming in the water retention area beyond the fence and we saw one cute little alligator, about 3.5-4 feet long just chilling during the beautiful fall day. (He was separated by the fence, and there are many "No Trespassing" signs posted all around, along with warnings about venomous snakes.). I'm glad to know there are safe rest stops along I-75; and this is definitely a nice place to rest, eat, or walk around.
