We came here camping in February. Beautiful place with 10 different hiking trails. We did three of them in two days. They say you can see bison and wild horses on some of the trails but we didn't see that this time. They had a large observation deck that looks over the Prairie. And a nice ranger station with a little movie explaining how the Prairie used to be a lake! While we were camping we met a man who photographed moths very interesting. Probably come here again but the only bad thing was you could hear I-75 in the tent camping area. But other areas of the park were very quiet. Poor placement of the tent area. This preserve is 22,000 acres.! That's big. Paid $20 for two nights with a senior discount, includes water and electricity. They do sell wood at the front entrance for $8 for about 10 pieces this is enough for one good fire. As for critters I saw lots of armadillos in a few squirrels.

Everything I imagined and more!!! Sinkhole ponds behind fences. A short path. Garbage cans. Several hotel and travel coupon books. Bathrooms. Gender neutral bathrooms!!! Although if it has a man image and a woman image on it is that neutral? What is the symbol for gender neutrality? I don't like being pigeon holed. I rested. There was a nice breeze on a fall Florida day. It was terrific. Beats the Risque Cafe at exit 374 any day.. You cannot actually access the preserve from the rest stop which is a bit sad. But if you bring binoculars you can almost see it.

The place got one star because of the staff. They are pleasant and professional…read more -The pool was green -The bed covers where stained -the tv was broken. The worst motel I have stayed in. I should have taken a hint when I first went into the lobby door…read moreand saw a handmade sign saying 'Be back on thirty. As I entered lobby all I could smelt was a huge smell of urine in lobby. I checked into Rm 129. The key card worked all right ; Entering room it was fine but noticed there were no shelf's in bathroom as the two towels were placed on side of sink. In the bathroom there was a small dead frog next to shower. No more towels or soap. Noticed there were'nt ice buckets so went to office for ice. The male said , We don't have "no ice machine. " Also in office I asked about WIFI to which the female office clerk gave me the support code, being either guest,1,guest2, guest 3. I tried to WiFi but no of those codes. Well I then decided to turn the tv on. Then guess what, the female came and straightened it out, but I was fearful of turning channels. I did change channel to the relief of having some ameadies in that room.. In a.m I turned the shower on but the handle fell off. I did have a shower though after reattaching the off on knob. I quickly packed up the car and quickly left. The office was not opened to drop key off. All outdoor building was rusted and of need of a paint. There were baby roaches next to bed I noticed. This is the worst hotel of all . Surprised they're open or could pass any occupancy inspection.
