This is an absolutely terrible motel. Just imagine the worst hotel ever. And that's only half of what it actually is. There is practically no light inside. All light comes from 2 table lamps and a TV. Above the sink there is no light at all. You will wash and shave in the dark. It's very dirty inside. I got the impression that the room was never cleaned. Dirty stains and sticky spots everywhere. All towels have holes. It's just disgusting to go into the bathroom. And at 1 am, the neighbors tried to open the inner door to me from another room. And then there they drank and yelled for half the night. There are also wires hanging from the walls. There is also a fire alarm on the ceiling. And yet ... Yes, there is so much more that it is simply impossible to list. Absolutely do not recommend to anyone! Not for any money. But the staff at the motel are nice.

This hotel was bad. As you can see in the pictures, this was the first room we checked into.

I rather not give a star. Ceiling was missing, all rooms ranked with cigarette smoke. This is close to a cabaret and the motel reflects that lifestyle with the looks and feeling. We high tailed it out of there when they insisted we stayed and they would find us a better room. We were shown thee rooms all were disasters.

A large mermaid statue greets you, surrounded by whimsical decorations and beautiful artwork. Inside, the floors and ceilings are hand-painted by an incredibly talented artist, and the mermaid-and-manatee theme blends together perfectly. The host, Joanne, is attentive while still respecting your privacy. She showed me around, answered all my questions, and made sure I knew she was just a phone call away if I needed anything. I was there to celebrate my birthday, and she had a banner over the bed and a nice bottle of champagne waiting in my room--such a thoughtful touch. You definitely won't go hungry here. There were muffins, bagels, cookies, fruit, snacks, and more than I could count. For breakfast, there were eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, and plenty of options to cook at your leisure. Drinks ranged from water and juice to soda, beer, and wine. I stayed in the Scallop Room on the ground floor. Each room has its own key, private bathroom, TV, and everything you might need. The bed was comfortable and very clean. In the evening, the owner lit the fire pit and provided s'mores so we could sit by the river, watch the sunset, and relax. Outside, there are kayaks, paddle boards, water bikes, and more. It was my first time kayaking on the river, and I had a wonderful time watching a manatee and her baby (from a respectful distance), along with fish jumping and birds diving. One of those special days I'll remember for years. The only challenge for me was getting out of the kayak at low tide .A grab bar or some support near the steps would make it easier for guests Treat yourself to a visit to Crystal River and the Crystal Blue Lagoon B&B--you'll love it.

My husband and I debated where to stay and took a risk with Crystal Blue Lagoon B&B, since we couldn't find a lot of reviews online. We booked the manatee room because we were charmed by the eccentric decor (it seemed better than a potentially run down room in a generic chain hotel) and we could not have been happier with our choice! While in Crystal River, we spent a lot of money on private boat tours (Manatees in Paradise is the best if you're wondering), but you don't even need to book a tour if you stay here. They have a manatee sanctuary spring pretty much on the property (populated by 30+ manatees during our stay). Plus, they have tons of water toys you can use and everything you need to swim with the manatees on site. Many of the boat tours would anchor there so people could swim with the manatees, but we had a perfect view of them by just standing on the lawn and looking into the spring, something the people on the boat tours couldn't do. Truly, it was the best manatee experience we had in Crystal River! Our room in the B&B was comfortable, clean, and completely charming, if not luxurious. It feels a bit like visiting your most artistic friend or family member. The shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water, which came in handy as the weather was cold during our stay. The kitchen was overflowing with a huge assortment of snacks, drinks (including wine and beer), and food you can prepare if you're so inclined. I've already recommended Crystal Blue Lagoon B&B to friends, and we will absolutely stay here next time we visit!

From the street, Camellia Rose appears to be a well maintained historic looking building. It's a pretty decent size with a nice yard and water fountain out front as well as nice parking. When we arrived, Mrs Pat met us at the door and welcomed us in. She showed us around and scheduled a time for breakfast. She told us to call if we needed anything and was very sweet. We went to a ballgame and had dinner and then went to Rockeys in town before heading back. When we got back we immediately got in the big jacuzzi tub. (We stayed in anticipation). There's bathing salt provided which made it even better. The temperature and water pressure was great, everything was very clean and taken care of. There were a lot of little details that made the room even better. The bed was comfy- my honey didn't want to get up the next morning due to how soft the bed was. I ended up getting him up and we went and got coffee and sat out front for a few minutes before breakfast. Once it was served, we had fresh sweet fruit, some kind of egg dish that was my absolute favorite (the boyfriend stated I needed to "up my breakfast game" the next time I cooked haha), sausage, and a really good pumpkin bread that I could barely eat because I was so full. We refilled our coffee and sat on the upper balcony for the rest of our stay which was relaxing. It was a little chilly but there was a small blanket in our room I could cover up in as I sipped my coffee. All in all a very great place to stay and we look forward to returning! PROS: - very quiet and relaxing; not like a hotel room where people are yelling in the halls randomly - Excellent breakfast that will have you extra full and ready for the day - I recommend definitely getting a room with the big tub. I would stay in it all day with a book if I could - clean and well maintained - quick uber/drive away from everything - great patio to relax in the mornings or nights

I had breakfast before checking out Saturday which included fruit, scrambled eggs, sausage and biscuits and gravy. There was plenty of parking and we were able to walk to dinner. I was glad we checked in early with the Hilton app so I didn't have to deal with her. The Manager needs to give her a course in Customer Relations. We were also disappointed that we weren't told that breakfast was only until 9:00 am not the usual 10:00 am so when we got there at 9:00 it was closed. Fortunately, the morning front desk lady made us togo bags full of goodies. Seems the owner has changed the usual Hampton breakfast closing time from 10 to 9. I don't think it is going to be a welcome change.

1000% YES - this place is awesome! SO much better than every other hotel we've stayed at in…read moreFlorida. This hotel felt like and treated their guests like a true 5 star hotel. First....the grounds are beautiful, well maintained and vast. Upon arrival there's a choice of valet or self-park just out front. Before you can even get to the door someone has rushed to open it and greet you warmly. In fact, 1 guy was there at noon when we arrived and still there at 9pm. Even at 9pm he was still hustling, smiling and putting in just as much effort as he was many hrs earlier. The excellence of staff continued beyond the doormen. Every single staff member we encountered was equally engaged, acknowledged guests, was friendly and was genuinely competent at their job. SO refreshing!! We never saw any of the staff on their phones or busy talking with each other. The work ethic & polish this hotel expects from staff is obvious, appreciated & makes an impact on how we felt as guests. Upon entry, the lobby is gorgeous! Pristine, classy yet inviting. Loved the player piano & large fireplace. There were even some really lovely olive wood crosses available at the front desk, which was an especially nice touch over Easter. Often when a lobby is beautiful, the rooms are a let down. Not here! I didn't see any areas that were in need of attention. Our room felt incredibly clean - no missed corners, grimy spots, etc. It was immaculate and so welcoming...oh, and the room was really really big...and so comfortable. There was a large 2 door closet as well as a smaller closet for our child to use and appreciated having 3 suitcase holders that could fit into the closets so we didn't have to look at them in the room. The chairs in the room were actually comfortable to sit in and made sense with their location. Beds were wonderful and I might have to get 1 of their pillows as it was the first night in awhile that my neck hasn't hurt. Winning! The chocolates by the bedside were a fun treat, particularly the lemon truffle. The next key takeaway from this hotel is how clean it is everywhere. Already mentioned the lobby & rooms, but were out by the arena after the candy shop had closed and the person cleaning had all chairs completely off the floor, rug rolled up and outside and was cleaning like they wanted it to shine. My husband immediately noted that's a sign that someone actually taught the person how they wanted it cleaned rather than just asking them to clean. Big difference. Seriously - I could write a novel about this hotel/property and how great it was. Dog portraits line the walls and halls. There's a small patisserie (large one in the Manor, which you also need to explore), toy shop, bar, restaurant and shops to explore. You MUST stop at the patisserie - fresh, beautiful. We grabbed some items in a lovely box to take home as a gift. We also had breakfast at Stirrups and fully recommend dining here. It was wonderful and blew away all the "best" restaurants in Ocala. Our fruit platter was customizable, came with pink pineapple slices (!) and dragon fruit bits. The 3 egg omelet was the size of a 6 egg omelet and had more beautifully cooked bacon than one could hope. While filling our water glasses the pitcher dripped a couple times. Love that our server was right there with her towel to notice every detail. Beyond the really delicious food and outstanding service, we loved watching the horses warming up in the arena outside, looking around at the many dog portraits in the room and relaxing in the large leather chairs. HUGE shout out to the management staff! It's obvious the leadership here has expectations, does comprehensive training with staff and is actively engaged in ensuring the quality of the hotel. Is The Equestrian Hotel more expensive than the other hotel on site or hotels closer to town - yes, but it's so worth it and we would happily pay a higher price to stay here. Thank you for the wonderful weekend retreat!! We can't wait to return!
