Stayed 5 nights and thought it was great. This upscale hotel is located right across the ocean. Walkable to most everything. The staff was very helpful and did a great job throughout. The room was well appointed and nicely decorated. The breakfast which was included with the stay was excellent.

My wife and I had a beautiful stay here for 1 week. As soon as we arrived, everyone was welcoming and helpful. They brought up a complimentary bottle of champagne on ice when they found out it was our anniversary as well as a cake later the next night. Most staff spoke English very well which helped with directions, recommendations etc. Those that were not fluent knew enough to get by, or get you help. They would even call to confirm or make dinner reservations for me, and they would give me change and break large notes - (bills) when needed. Breakfast was included with my stay through Expedia Gold. Lovely set up of coffee, juices, crepes, fruit, eggs, the chocolate croissants were delicious. Location can't be beat- you walk across the street to the promenade and beaches. Old town is a close walk, the train station you can even walk about 10-15 minutes. Getting an Uber I never waited for more than 4 minutes- the pick-up drop off spot is right in front very convenient. Also the touristy big bus has a stop right across the street. The AC in the room worked great I was never hot or stuffy- actually too cold sometimes which was great. The value was excellent as well. We did have a smaller room, but you can upgrade for a fee to a bigger room, or one with a direct view of the beach or balcony. We were up by 8 and back in bed by midnight, so we really only used it to sleep and shower, which was fine. Only one minor detail is the hotel has only 1 iron in the basement floor to be shared by everyone, so I suggest if you need it to go early or late, or you may wait a while for people to finish. We brought a travel steamer, but I forgot about the voltage difference so I couldn't use it out there. We just got home yesterday and already miss the hotel and staff, and Nice in general. No complaints at all! Hope to return one day again. Thank you- Merci- Hotel West End.

Beautiful view of the AC unit from our bedroom and bathroom!

Reservation said "ROOM TYPE: Room 1 - CLASSIC CITY VIEW" . . . What a disappointment. . . more like SH#@& VIEW!!! Perfect view of the AC unit. When we asked to transfer to another room, we were told " your room is the last available for your price level" . . . WHAT!!! Where's the city view here?!?!

We stayed in June for 3 nights. As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and assisted by Silvio who actually jumped into our rental car with us to show us where the Parking lot was and how to access it. We were so apprciative since it was a bit of a task. He was also helpful recommending places to visit. Rennaud was also helpful recommending a place to eat. Alice was really helpful and even made a dinner reservation for us one night. Breakfast was amazing, what a selection and to sit outside with a beach view. I only wish that the AC would be cooler.

I could wake up to this view every morning.

I'll give in to that niggling feeling that I'm obligated to write a review after posting some lovely photos from the promenade. Driving down to Nice from Lyon, the mentality of "go big or go home" was floating around in my head. Nice was one of the more beautiful cities I was visiting and I didn't want to stay somewhere in a back corner street staring at a wall for 80 euro less a night. Come on, I'm in the French Rivera! Naturally, I couldn't resist this gorgeous hotel right next to the historic Hotel Negresco. Especially since it wasn't nearly as costly as it's marble clad brother with the quirky looking doormen. So, at some point that "big"-- was scaled down to "larger than average". Friendly, multilingual front desk staff? Check. Beautiful balcony rooms? Check. Updated and squeaky clean? Yup. Comfortable beds, similar to Westin's signature "heavenly beds". It's not big, not super modern but it gets the job done if you want to enjoy your afternoons on your balcony with a glass of wine overlooking the Promenade des Anglais. Fair warning, my room had no shower stall or curtain. You had to either sit in the giant tub or get the entire marble bathroom wet. Eep! My 5 days in Nice would have turned into a 3 days in 'un hôpital'. After staying in 2 Air Bnb places prior, I was thinking rooftop access and/or a spa/gym would have been nice as well... but again, it's a small(er) hotel. Location is excellent and a convent walk to two grocery stores if you have a hankering for a picnic on the beach or you're just downright tired of the crappy touristy restaurants nearby. Free, but slooooooow wifi.

Got some vietnamese food from Wok2Nice.. haha ... the view of the ocean and dinner with my preggo wife was something special

Great place to stay in Nice. Its right in front of the water. Make sure to request ocean view. (Tripadvisor) Good deal for the cost. Also get breakfast its worth it.

Emailed in advance for balcony and asked again upon check in. Who does not want to sit out on a balcony in Nice right? We chose this place for the ocean view, pet friendly and the great location. We booked and paid in advance. We arrived and were thrust up to the fifth floor with a small barely able to stand in balcony, see photos. If you get the fifth floor the AC can be running on high and set to 10c but it won't make a difference. Feels humid and warm. This top floor is probably a converted attic. See pictures. The fourth floor is bright different doors etc. The fifth looks like the hotels step child. You can easily tell climbing the stairs to the fifth floor. The stairs creak one thru four and stop creaking at five. Breakfast is ok. Staff is polite.

The room had a lot of character, almost like getting a prime location with Airbnb but better because you have clean towels and 24 hour staff. The room had a king size bed and a twin bed. We didn't book a suite or anything so we were surprised on how spacious and luxurious the room was. We had two restrooms too! Speaking of staff, the employees were all so friendly and more importantly, accommodating. Our flight from Rome to Nice got cancelled and we were worried about paying for a night when we weren't there on top of cancelation fees. We called the hotel and they changed our booking from 2 nights to one night and waived the cancellation fee. Who does that??? Staff answered all of our questions and reassured us every step of the way. The customer service is superb, I don't even know why French people have a reputation for being rude. It's totally not the case, at least with the staff here. The breakfast was amaze balls. I wish I had photos of the food but I was busy eating it all up. The fruit was fresh and not canned. The croissants were freshly baked. It was flaky and buttery heaven! The baguettes came out piping hot and you can cut it yourself on a board. The coffee machine made like 8 kinds of espresso, cappuccino, and lattes. I had the white cappuccino and it was foamy, milky, and strong. Much better quality than Starbucks. The experience made me feel like I was staying at a five star hotel. I wish our flight wasn't canceled so we could have enjoyed our stay longer. When traveling to Nice, make sure to book this Best Western. It was about 60 euros a night in November!! What a deal!

If you are planning to stay here, I'd highly recommend taking a taxi from the airport (~35 euro) or packing light. The hike up the hill with luggage can be a challenge, even if you're in decent shape. Service at the hotel is 4.5 stars. Phillippe is awesome and has great recommendations for dinner. He's friendly and welcoming. I would give him 5 stars. I would've rated the hotel higher, but it is a bit of a trek to the touristy spots. In addition, the walls are thin, so you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. Our neighbors were definitely having a lot of "fun" on our last night. Even though I knocked on their wall several times, I wasn't able to stop their late night fun. We thought our room included the breakfast buffet, unfortunately it didn't and we had a 16 euro/pp/day charge. It wasn't that we minded the charge, but the food was definitely not worth the 16 euro/day. There weren't that many choices at breakfast. The hotel provides free wifi access, although it is spotty. It is also limited to two sign-ons per room. If you have a lot of wifi devices, you'll find yourself trying to figure out which device you want to connect to the wifi. There are some other creative ways you can get online, but I'm sure other yelp reviewers are smart enough to figure it out. :) If I visited Nice again, I would probably pay the extra $ and stay at the Hotel Negresco. I do recommend this hotel if you have a rental car. Nice is car friendly and this particular hotel is located in a residential area, so there is plenty of free street parking.

The rooms are cute french, wall paper, mirrors but spacious and light. I wouldn't want for anything else in a hotel room. The front of house at the hotel was especially helpful. He has a great knowledge of restaurants and is very honest about the quality of food. His recommendations were excellent and we enjoyed chatting to him each morning about our plans. Very friendly, easy going and helpful. We would stay here again any day!

The hotel is mostly quiet, I did hear children running up and down the hallway, but for the most part it was quiet. There is a rooftop bar, I've not ever visited, but the hours are off.
