Well, this place was open past EIGHT pm, while the catty cornered Ben and Jerry's wasn't. Naturally, then, business goes here. The place seemed comfy enough, with chairs shaped in the mold of large hands and wooden tables to drop by, eat, chat, and/or study. The first half of the store is dedicated to lunch sandwiches. The rear end is where the ice cream is. But stick with pure ice cream, and hold on to your wallet. Prices here are around $5-6 per desser / slushy drink. As for specific product review, do not get any of those 'frizzy drinks' which have sprite in them (read, HF Corn Syrup). Also stay away from the diabetes-inducing "brownie sundae." LOVE this little gem of a deli at the Pearl St Mall. I stumbled upon it just over a week and a half ago as I was ready to give into my guilty pleasure of Haagen-Dazs ice cream. As I strolled in I was floored by the most amazing aroma. The very personable woman behind the deli counter advised me it was her homemade potato soup, and handed me a small cup and spoon with a sample of this delectable soup. It was wonderful! And I'm not even a potato or potato soup lover! Well, except for this soup now. The spunky and attentive gal who gave me the tasting of tasty potato soup turned out to be Lindsay, as in THE Lindsay behind "Lindsay's Boulder Deli!" Now that I'd tried that spectacular potato soup, my brain craving gears shifted to "late lunch mode," and I was no longer craving one of my too guiltiest pleasures - H-D Ice Cream. Lindsay graciously pointed out the half sandwich and soup option and proceeded to point out some of the most unique awesome sandwich options. Once she mentioned The Ferris Brieller, I was captivated by the sound of "Brie," and my eyes were fixated on "Brie." The other cleverly named sandwiches such as the "That's What She Said," stood no chance. The potato soup was with seasoned with bacon (which I NEVER eat), and other ingredients which I cannot recall at this moment, sorry,...But it was so damn fantastic! That Ferris Brieller hit it out of Wrigley Field, (My favorite ballpark)! The half sandwich is just the right size especially when accompanied by the cup of soup. I went back the very next week to the date and I took a friend who was visiting, He just so happens to be a big time Yelper. As a matter of fact, he already reviewed Lindsay's before me. That chili was delicious! The owner herself, Lindsay, took the time to address my previous review. She told me she felt awful about what happened and would instruct her employees on how to properly prepare avocado in the future. She also encouraged me to try her food again. I was very impressed by her care for her customers and thus was prompted to pay the deli another visit. I got a tuna melt, which was sizable and pretty yummy! The large portion and fresh ingredients within definitely merit the price. I also got a small cup of caramel cone ice cream from the Haagen Dazs shop inside, which was obviously a no fail. Haagen Dazs is always delicious! I believe the bad avocado situation was a one-time thing and does not represent the overall quality of the food at Lindsay's. So here is the full story, as a family bunch of us decided to get some ice cream for kids, we went in, and I'm looking at the guy from distants and how he was making a sandwich, they guy yelled "don't look at me, it makes me nervous" I went ahead to see the manager and two young kids probably 18 years old told us "we're the manager" I said no way, they guy said well "fuck-off" we were with kids so we had to leave and not argue. read more

Lindsay's is one of my absolute favorite places to go. Every week, it's a constant battle to eat the lunch I brought to work, because all I want is Lindsay's food. The chorizo breakfast wrap is hella good. It costs about $5 and I eat it for breakfast, then for a snack, then for breakfast again. It's a good bang for your buck. Their Italian Stallion sandwich is hard to beat; if I go for lunch, that's all I want. They always add the chipotle honey mustard and banana peppers to it for me and it's phenomenal. Not only is the food miraculous, the service is always outstanding. I've never been disappointed when visiting this place. Last but not least, they have ice cream and that's a win in my book! read more

For a long time, I kept going back and forth between thinking the meals and service were good and thinking things could use a lot of work. After my last two experiences, I've decided I'd rather not frequent this place anymore. It's unfortunate, because I had two very good meals here, and the ice cream is also good. The food and service are just way too inconsistent, and many of the workers don't seem to care about either good service or the quality of what they put out. Fortunately, you can get good ice cream at many other places. There were two straws that broke the camel's back. In one instance, the sandwich was a mess of items I never requested mixed with a few that I did. It was completely random. The bread wasn't well toasted, even though I asked for it to be and emphasized the WELL part. In fact, both slices were mushy and barely even lightly toasted. When I returned the sandwich and asked for my money back, the guy at the counter shorted me a dollar. I tried to explain that he owed me nine dollars and change, not eight, and he kept insisting he had given me the correct amount back. He didn't. I got tired of arguing and took my money to Hapa where they very kindly and unexpectedly gave me a small discount. If you want consistency and really good food, it's sometimes worth it to pay extra and go to a place you can always trust like Hapa. On my most recent (and last) visit here, I ordered the Shaw's delight with the bagel well toasted. Again, the bagel was barely toasted and cold. The inner part wasn't even lightly browned, nor were the edges. My coworker agreed that it wasn't even lightly toasted. I asked for sprouts, and there were maybe three threads sitting on top. The sandwich was missing the tomato, and enormous leaves of wet lettuce topped the large mound of cheese making it grotesquely slimy. When I mentioned that the tomatoes were missing and the bagel was not well toasted, two employees started to argue with me. My response was that it would be my last time there. After working in high-end restaurants after college, I don't need someone to tell me the difference between well toasted, lightly toasted, and untoasted. I think I get it. When I'm spending $12.00 plus for a sandwich or bagel, I want it done the way I request or at least close. If this were a $5.00 premade grab-and-go type deal, it might not be horrible, but I've had much better premade sandwiches that were less of a disaster and far more flavorful. read more

We took the plunge and got this for delivery for the 1st time. (It required purchasing $35 minimum for delivery) Overall, I was pretty happy with what we got, though it was expensive. (But what ISN'T expensive in Boulder?) The croissant was really one of the best I've had in Boulder so far and I've been living here for a year. The bagels were average to me. They weren't bad but I probably wouldn't buy again. The milkshakes are wonderful. The salad came really fresh. Though on the website it said it would be romaine but it ended up being mixed greens. I'm allergic to certain greens so I wasn't able to eat most of it. That was a little disappointing for me. I really wanted to try the cookies but there isn't an option to buy only 1 or 3...On grubhubb you have to buy a dozen, which is kind of a big commitment. Wish there was an option on there to have only a couple cookies. I'm not sure if I will get delivery again just because the minimum is kind of high. But if I am ever in pearl street mall I will definitely drop buy and get a croissant, milkshake, and/or cookie. read more

We got sternly directed to stand in line while reading our menu... We just were reading the chalkboard, we wanted to know what vegetarian options there were before getting in line! We were aggressively given samples of soup. Some manager thrust a sample of clam chowder in my face and when I said no thank you (my husband too... and our 2 friends...), she rudely asked us if we are "vegetarians or something." I responded with "well yes... but actually I'm allergic to that too..." She then ran back and grabbed a different sample to shove in our faces that was a zucchini cream soup. My friend declined and was treated rudely because of this... even though she is lactose intolerant and can't eat the sample. Not that anyone should have to explain something personal like an allergy or dietary restriction. While getting water from the fountain the owners aunt (self proclaimed) began chatting me up. I asked if the deli was kosher... because I had seen some signage indicating jewish ownership (at the very least) and let's just say she wasn't very professional with a response... something involving disdain and that someone who works here is... She then stood and expo/delivered food to people with her shoulder length hair... after playing and running her hands through her hair.... at the expo station. Gross. My husband and I got food right away. My girlfriends "for here sandwhich" came wrapped 10 minutes later. After 24 minutes from his receipt time.... her husband's sandwich came. No apology. No regret, no enjoy.... The owners aunt (self proclaimed) threw the basket down and said "you good and hung ry?" And then WALKED AWAY. We will NOT be back. Our food came quickly...well. NEW REVIEW: Sometimes I go here for lunch when I have a meeting on pearl, this week when I went there were HUGE flies everywhere on all the food and in the kitchen ... hundreds of flies... all the customers and staff were swatting at them buzzing around... The front door is just open to pearl st... Saving money on A/C? Watched the staff while I waited for my food. Terrible food handling and no hand washing... wiping their faces touching their hats and then right back to the food... We were walking around Pearl St when we came across this deli, we were starving so we decided just to pop in. My fiancé ordered the New Yorker and a hot dog and I got the Reuben and the loaded baked potato soup. They gave us our table number and we went and found a table. We probably wanted about 20-25 mins for our food, they forgot half our order so my fiancé had to go back to the counter to retrieve it. So, I thought that in a location as upscale as the Pearl Street Mall, people would train their employees to follow basic health and hygiene protocols...not at Lindsay's (fyi, the full name of this place is "Lindsay's Deli at Haagen Dazs"). I walked in to grab a bagel because I only had 3 bucks on me and I was h-u-n-g-r-y! The guy at the counter was making a breakfast burrito for someone else. He stuck it in the oven, then came to take my order, still wearing the greasy, ham-and-egg-y latex gloves from the breakfast burrito. He grabbed a dirty rag and wiped off the counter where he had made the burrito..."that's good," I thought to myself... Then, with the gloves still on, he took my order, then I handed him my three dollar bills. He still had his greasy gloves on when he took the money and put it in the register. Then, with the same greasy, dirty rag and money-infected gloves (have you ever been to a strip club??? I haven't, but I know what happens to dollar bills there) and grabbed a bagel, and prepared my bagel with the same gloves he had used to take my money, handle a dirty rag, make the guy before Me's sandwich, and god knows what else! I was horrified, but being my passive-aggressive self I kept my mouth shut and decided to yelp about it instead. The guy who came in after me got his sandwich made with the same pair of gloves. Perhaps the guy had never heard of "disposable." Perhaps that was the last pair of gloves in the store... All I know is, that is disgusting, and probably illegal. And yes, I ate the bagel. I'm broke! I had the pleasure to meet Lindsay herself before even ordering anything. She gave some great recommendations as well as some samples. Most of the soups are family recipes and all I tasted were really good. I opted for the soup n sandwich option, which was perfect. I got the Ferris B sandwich because it was recommended and because it was different than what I'm used to getting. The interior is casual yet cool and there is also the option to get H-D ice cream. The best part about this place, other than the great selection and Pearl Street location, is the fact that Lindsay herself is who ensures that the magic stays real at this place. She is on location and greeting customers 50 hrs a week it seems like. She is a day maker. I also love this place bc as UN-vegan as it is by nature, Lindsay makes a point of accommodating the vegan/veg community. Cool! She frequently hosts a vegan soup selection (house made), and her breakfast wrap with the seasoned potatoes and veggies is delicious. Kudos Lindsay's Boulder Deli! I am super pumped about this find. Tried them today for the first time and it was fantastic. I got the veggie sandwich- forget the name but it was so delicious! Tons of veggies plus pesto, sun dried tomato and other great things. It had amazing taste for a veggie sandwich and my favorite- avocado! I got a half sandwich and soup (vegan carrot curry) for a little over $8. While this is relatively expensive, it was worth it. All the other options looked incredible as well, I can't wait to go back. If you're not looking to spend that much they still have some cheap options such as a $3 breakfast sandwich and a gourmet grilled cheese (called the Queensland Cheese or something like that) for $5. Who has the best breakfast sandwiches on the Pearl St. Mall? Lindsay's! Every so often I get so busy at work in the morning that I forget to feed my growling belly to prevent hitting the proverbial wall. That's when I call in an order to Lindsay's. Nothing fancy, just a breakfast sandwich. Sometimes on a croissant (that is so flaky it leaves croissant flakes all over the butcher paper that the sandwich is wrapped in causing me to scrape the flakes up with my fingers and pop them in my mouth like the crumbs from a Pringles can), sometimes on a bagel (why is it that this seems to be the only place in Boulder that knows how to toast a bagel to be perfectly crispy yet chewy for a breakfast sandwich?), but always with bacon. The great thing is that these sandwiches always come with tomato on them! I believe that every breakfast sandwich should come with tomato. It just works. The employees are all super nice and helpful, but barring that, there's nothing that feels homey and warm about it. That said, the food makes it worth it! We were uncertain on where to have lunch so we consulted Yelp and found this deli shop. I was uncertain at first, but when I saw that they have Haggen-Dazs ice cream, it was decided we were having lunch here. I ordered the That's What She Said and my lady had Totally Tuna Melt. For our drinks we wanted to try the Coffee Frappe. Someone took our order while we were in line so we could just hand in our order slip when we are at the register. My lady noticed that they have a Chai drink and wanted to change hers, but they said that our drink is currently being made (basically a, "No you may not change your order" in a nice way). She did not make a fuss about it, but I feel that if the lady wanted to change her order, she should be entitled to change it. Our sandwiches arrived and I immediately took a bite from mine. I said, "Mmmmm." And in that moment I realized the meaning behind the name of the sandwich That's What She Said. The bread was warm, tender on the inside and has the right crisp on the outside. The sweetness of green apple, honey, and a little kick of the chipotle honey mustard was delicious which complimented the crispiness and saltiness of bacon. She converses with customers and asks their opinion. She gives out free samples at times and does not treat the people who walk through the door as a transaction. She wants return customers. The place can feel very busy due to its layout and can even feel a bit cramped during busy times. But when you are enjoying deli food this much, you hardly notice. In the midst of one of many lengthy walks yesterday, while my car was enjoying 3 days in the shop, I decided to stop in at Lindsay's. I had not been to this place since it was solely Haagen-Dazs, and that was when my son and daughter still lived at home. Long time ago. I had read many of the Yelp reviews for Lindsay's, and the good ones were enough incentive for me to come in and try a sandwich. I liked that the grilled cheese was grilled, yet non-greasy. Excellent. It came with tomato, and that was good too. They are flexible, so I got a swiss on rye with tomato grilled cheese. Tasty. The drink I ordered came with a cookie. The whole thing was just over 5 bucks. Not bad, especially for a place on Pearl. It's impressive that they were full and busy at 3pm on a Wednesday. Mostly tourists. And I'm sure lots of CU incoming freshman parents are in town right now too. They apparently are open pretty late too, so I will start suggesting it as a go-to place for a quick bite to eat after downtown 12-step meetings. read more

Now before I get started here, let me tell you that it's really hard to screw up a sandwich. Like, it's bread and veggies and meat and you can't really go wrong with all that. It's a mindless meal to make. That being said though, Lindsay's really knows what they're doing with sandwiches. This was literally the healthiest meal I've had since I moved here to Colorado. My sandwich was stuffed to the core with veggies. Now see, I'm a carnivore and me and veggies don't really get along all too well, but Lindsay's actually made it edible for me. Maybe it's because they chop up their veggies nice and fine so that instead of getting huge chunks of veggie flavor, you're getting lots of little tiny bits and it all blends together to make this amazing flavor sensation. Didn't even get to eat here but just wanted to share my experience. I decided to stop by with my mom and a friend just to get some ice cream real quick then head back home. Everything was going smooth at first, a nice guy was taking our order then some girl walks up to us asking if we had a mask and when we told her unfortunately no we left ours in the car. The girl then proceeds to tell us that if we don't have a mask then we can't be in the building AS THERE IS A WHOLE TABLE WITH LIKE 8 PEOPLE SITTING RIGHT THERE AND NOT ONE OF THEM HAD A MASK. So we then bring it to her attention that there is a whole table sitting there without any masks and she just keeps insisting that when it comes to face to face contact that they require face masks. But if that's the case then how are those people at the table able to order FACE TO FACE without masks??? So the owner then comes out with a whole baby on her hip asking if we had any problems and needed any assistance, and may I add, WITHOUT A MASK ON HER OR THE BABY. How can you require your customers to wear masks when you don't even wear one? I of course left shortly after because I refuse to give my money to a business like that even if she would've said it were ok. I just felt so discriminated and humiliated. And may I also add that I am in no way against the whole mask thing whatsoever but discriminating against customers and picking and choosing which ones should wear a mask and which ones shouldn't? Lindsey's has a good half sandwich/half salad combo for $8.99. The sandwich and salad portions are good sized. Amongst 3 of us, we had turkey chef salads (dressing with Chipotle was tasty and had a good kick) and a Caesar salad. I don't recall exactly what we ordered for our half sandwiches but they were all basically variations on turkey, avocado, and assorted veggies. Mine had pesto and was on wheat bread. My wife and son's were on spinach wraps. All the food was good basic salad and sandwich fare, which is what we were after. The place was very busy around 1:00 on a Tuesday but service was good and we had our food in about 15 minutes. All was good at Lindsey's! read more
