So update on the flooring issue: months later (6 months to be exact), we had the flooring…read moreinstallation scheduled and on the day of the install, their contracting company (Romanoff) was not organized and the job was not completed. It was painful but I went to the store in person to talk to the front desk and they were really friendly and helpful. I don't fault Home Depot because after visiting the store, I realized that all of the issues are with the Romanoff folks and less so Home Depot themselves -- well, other than them partnering with a really crappy contractor. We managed to get a refund though at times, it was not a given because they wanted all of their materials back; the install guy brought some of it to our job site but some of it was missing (Aka the vinyl flooring) so he was released from the job. After many calls back and forth, it thankfully worked out for me. But I've read on the Romanoff Yelp page that this isn't always the case so be warned because any flooring installation you pick is going to be completed by them. I gave 4 stars this follow up because the Home Depot staff was helpful and they were able to come up with a resolution that didn't leave me stranded and out of my full payment. I appreciated that.

My…read moregirlfriend and I came in on a Friday and Sofia (one of the owners/business partners) showed us around the store and the various plants that they have. She is extremely knowledgeable about her craft and gives us practical tips for plant care. Asio Verde also has a lot of unqiue plants that a lot of other stores do not have. Examples include variegated whale fin snake plant, variegated mini monstera, thai constellation monstera, albo monstera, silver sword pothos, and many more. Additionally, the prices they have in this store are lower than a lot of the bay area plant shops. They also have giveaways and bidding wars on their instagram live for various plants that they are growing! I've bid for a thai constellation ($75) and an albo ($100) which is a better price than you'd find on etsy or any other online store. If you are in Merced and a plant person, highly recommend you go to Asio Verde for beautiful plants at a great price.
