So I talked my friend into a little reconnaissance mission. After yelp returned only this place when searching for 'soccer' in Eugene, we drove a little out of our way to find it. It's in the back of a strip mall, on the side, so keep an eye out for it on your way through. It's not directly on the road. It turns out they didn't have one, nor did they have much in the way of MLS stuff at all; it's not that kind of store. What they did have, however was a wide array of youth-team appropriate jerseys, shorts, socks and gear. Need 15 purple uniforms for The Soccers, the U-8 team in Eugene? DKS is the place for you. Need a German national team jersey with the popular Michael Ballack on it? They've got you covered. Need a David Beckham LA Galaxy jersey? Sorry, American soccer just isn't quite there yet. The owner was certainly nice enough in explaining why they didn't have what I was looking for, and there's nothing inherently bad about catering to the casual soccer fan, so don't think I'm slagging off on them. They're a good store that does what they do and anything that helps soccer grow in the US is ok by me. * - I have a thing about memorabilia. Sure, I could order one online, but things representing cities (or any sort of local institution -- colleges, teams, etc.) don't mean nearly as much if it's not purchased fairly close to the physical location of the institution. Basically, if you don't buy your Georgia Bulldogs t-shirt in the greatest city known to man, Athens, Georgia, I am not as impressed as I could be.

He even recommended that I buy a dual purpose cleat for turf and grass because the men's city league would switch to turf in the rainy season. I was treated like a fucking king, and I felt awesome.

I did my online research and drilled down my selection to Hydro-Fit. There were several choices. I decided my best course of action was to reach out to customer service. The Bow n Arrow shop in San Diego upsold me strings saying Bowtech put the wrong size strings on their bows. I said put the damn strings on and don't ever sell me anything again. The bow was still defective after the fancy strings were clearly not the remedy.. as this is the worst stare the bow is in of the whole 1 year aggravation. It's a lemon, they all refused to take responsibility or refund it as I demanded throughout the terrible experience, they blamed and insulted me for it, hid behind faceless screen names and verbal floundering.. and now the piece of junk is a dusty reminder of archery business. A few ruin it for the bunch. I'll never risk more than $400 for a bow now. I happily still shoot my $205 G1 Bear Cruzer. I shoot a 95% Vegas accuracy.. and climbing. I am a 49 year old novice(a virgin for those who aren't sensitive ) meaning my time with a bow or…read moretype or kind is none to zilch experience. When I went into the shop I was nervous because I am outdoorsy type of guy , and every single person in there was a was at some level of a lot of knowledge to knowing how to build and tune a bow from scratch, even the big Daddy himself, Wayne Endicott was there fine tuning some arrows for a customer. Well the young man who they assigned to me for getting the type of bow for me seemed not standoffish but more like unsure of himself as salesperson, but when it came to the specs for the bows are him, he was spot on. THey fitted me for the Mission Switch, which ironically i like better than the Bear Archery Cruzer G2 and the Mission MXR together, it felt light and comfortable and any kind uncomfortability I felt, I chalk up to me being nervous and tired(was exhausted from work) nothing they did at all. I will admit I have watched a lot of YouTube videos of Wayne, and I felt like a fanboy meeting his epic idol for the first time. I wish I had more time and he had more time because I would love to pick his brain, the knowledge he has is vast when it comes not only to bows but also hunting with them. It was easy to purchase my bow especially with the layaway plan they offer(10% percent down, and a 90 day window to pay it off, with some exceptions being allowed and time extended). I was told I can come in at anytime between now and the time I pay it off to practice with the bow, which I am going to do starting on Monday. For those who didn't have the stellar service I had, please give them another chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how gracious they are, and how helpful they seem to want to be. They gave me some great tips as to what arrows to buy and even said IF i couldn't find the arrows I wanted, they help me find them through someone else need be. I showed up about an hour and half before closing, they made sure that I knew I could take as much time as I needed even though I felt bad about being there that late in the day. So when I saw the Gold Rush Nugget Bucket, I was a bit dubious. My parents used to take me panning for gold the old fashioned way while I was growing up in Colorado, and what I mainly remember was freezing feet in cold rivers and a whole lot of dirt in a pan. Bad with tools plus bad memories: Never exactly a good combination. My daughter, however, was insistent. She remembered seeing it on "Shark Tank" and next thing I knew I had a new gold panning kit. It is awesome. For one thing, it's easy to use. The directions make sense and you don't have to freeze your derrière off standing in a river. It also attracts attention. Not in a bad way, like the kind you get when your picture's in the post office. No, I mean the good way, as when you roll up in front of the hotel in a sports car. Everyone wants to know what it is, and once they see how easy it is to use, they ask if they can try it out. (I do not recommend this with a sports car.) I even used it on the beach in Lincoln City, Oregon where the D River meets the ocean. I kid you not, I found some gold. Not as much as if I'd found a 14K earring, mind you. But enough to make it fun - and attract a whole lot of new friends.
