I can't say enough wonderful things about Hydrant and the owners. I boarded my elderly dog there this past week for an overnight and doggy daycare. My Bella was so happy!! She hates being away from me and her home so I was anxious to leave her anywhere. The staff and owners are absolutely amazing and Bella didn't want to leave at the end of the day. Bella was being a bit of a diva and wouldn't eat her food so the staff hand fed her so she wouldn't go hungry....yes people, they fed her by hand. It's incredibly frustrating for us to write this review but as dog owners and dog lovers we felt like others should know about our experience with Hydrant. We used to love Hydrant - we loved the staff and the owners, but in recent months this place has gone downhill in terms of their quality of staff. We aren't sure if it's just that they're new, but we've had several incidents with our dogs that we aren't thrilled about. First, I got a call at the end of the day that one of my dogs bit a staff. Apparently it happened midday, and she had been chasing after a ball (and another dog tried to get in on it). When she snapped at the other dog, the staff pulled her aside and stuck his (her?) hand in her face to point at her and say no. My dog is a super fearful dog, so when a hand is in her face when she's already scared of people, her first reaction was to bite. I'm not sure why they disciplined her like that? And when they tried to put a leash on her, she bit again. Like, I am not a doggy daycare staff but even I know not to stick my finger/hand in a dog's face if they're not my pet. This just seemed like an entirely bizarre situation to us because we couldn't really get a straight story from anyone. Now mind you, this place is $$$$ (the most expensive of all the doggy daycares in the area) and they don't have a single webcam for any clients to see what goes on inside. We don't know if we got the entire truth, because it was like "well I wasn't there but from what I was told this is what happened." And furthermore, they told us that she bit the other dog even though they said they couldn't tell in the video what happened since there was a group of dogs running toward the same ball. The next time we brought her in, after a few weeks to cool down, they told me when I picked her up that she was being aggressive to dogs who were in her space, so they basically put her in the solitary confinement area by herself for the whole day. Why didn't they let me know when it happened so I could pick her up? I paid for a whole f*cking day just to have her be kept in a room by herself? Yeah great thanks. When I took her out, she immediately had diarrhea - so she wasn't feeling well and that's why she was being grouchy. Our final straw was when they told us that our other dog, who just wants to walk around, chill under the fan, and play with tennis balls, was being nonstop bugged by another dog and the staff PUT A MUZZLE ON OUR DOG. Let me get THIS STRAIGHT - ANOTHER DOG KEPT HARASSING OUR DOG SO YOU MUZZLED OUR DOG?? I don't know what it is about the new staff, because we never, ever used to have issues with the old staff. Furthermore, each time we were told that the owners would contact us but they never did. We will never be bringing our dogs back to Hydrant. Find yourself another daycare that's more transparent (and won't empty your wallet) so you know your previous pups are being taken care of by people who actually know how to work with dogs. read more

We have been taking our goldendoodle Miso to Hydrant Pet Hotel since he was old enough to have his vaccines and they have never disappointed! Daycare always tires him out from all of the playtime, he has gotten great socialization that makes us feel safe with him in any environment, and when we board him there over longer trips we call for frequent updates and love getting to hear how he's doing! Boarded my cat here for the first time and was very pleased with my experience. My baby, Pablo stayed a total of 4 days and was happy and healthy when I picked him up. I was able to view the cat room and appreciated how cozy, clean and quiet the space is. The building smells clean and does not have the typical animal odors I have come to expect when boarding my pets. I was impressed to learn a staff member stays with the animals overnight. Deciding where to board my 6-month-old Golden Retriever WAS a HUGE decision for me. I did a ton of research and picked Hydrant Pet Hotel. Here's my story: First I called three of my "dog expert" friends. Two of them were still searching themselves. The third one highly recommended another place. When I called, the owner said, due to a health problem, he wasn't boarding anymore. He's the one who recommenced Hydrant Hotel. I guess it isn't unprecedented, but since my only experience was a pet store, I was impressed that my puppy had to pass an "interview" to get accepted. When I picked him up, he was a different puppy. As any owner of a Golden knows, a tired retriever is a good retriever. They brought him out well exercised, a little wet from playing in the water (if there is any he can find, he's in it), and more willing than usual to "sit' and "wait" while they went over his "report card." He passed! His next stay was for a couple of nights - his first away from home. When I picked him up, I felt like he had been a celebrity guest at a 5-star resort. It is clear that the staff isn't just there for the pay-check. They knew my dog - and they knew me ... even after just one visit. They board a lot of dogs, but it was my experience that they all get a lot of personal attention. They told me he was "a little chatty" at night, and gave me some tips if that was a problem at home. Their customer service is amazing. They are also great trainers. I booked his next stay over a holiday. They explained their deposit policy VERY CLEARLY and emphasized that COVID conditions made it especially important that I make 100% sure my trip wouldn't be cancelled BEFORE I made a reservation so I didn't loose my deposit. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. They handle problems as professionally as when everything goes well. That's important too. After all, stuff happens. This is a 1st class operation. I have a very high energy dog that is also very very timid and shy. I have tried multiple doggie day cares and by the 2nd or 3rd visit our dog will be shaking uncontrollably and will refuse to enter the facility. If we even mentioned the word "day care" she used to hide. However, once we found Hydrant Pet Hotel that has all changed. She now runs to our door as soon as we mention she is going to daycare. The reason is that the owners and staff at Hydrant Pet Hotel take the time to get to know the dogs. They play with them and care for them as they do their own pets. Our dog, who is always shy around new people, runs straight up to them excited to see them and then runs straight back to go play with the other dogs. She loves it there and she comes home worn out from a day of playing and chasing balls. Everyone I have talked to about Hydrant always talks about 2 things: 1. How nice the facility is and 2. The Hydrant is great for dogs, not so great for sensitive cats. First I'd like to say that I bring my dog here weekly for playtime, and board her here 2-3 times a year. They are excellent with dogs that pass their very strict temperament test. Be warned though that you can fail at any time, on any day and will not be allowed to continue as a client (for obvious reasons). So far so good for me and my dog who seems to really like it here. The problem is with the cat boarding facility. I've boarded my cats here a couple of times and both times they've lost weight. Weight loss during cat boarding is not unexpected but 11oz from a 10lb cat is a lot for 4 days of boarding. The weight loss was a problem but it was more alarming that they didn't mention any feeding issues or seem to notice the weight loss at all. I was also slightly annoyed that they put both of my kitties in the same enclosure when I didn't specify that on this reservation, which you do by checking a box. There is no price break for more than one cat in the same enclosure so I thought they could use the extra space this time. The kitty enclosures are in a separate area from the dogs but heads up that it's not sound proof. They will also over book and have a kitty loose in the cat room with no dedicated enclosure (or rotate them through enclosures) and you will have no way of knowing if this is the case for your cat(s). I consulted with my vet about the weight loss and she advised me that my one sensitive kitty would be better at home or at least in a boarding facility where she could be monitored for excessive weight loss. I asked the Hydrant to transfer my non-refundable deposit to my dog for an upcoming reservation and they refused, offering me a free full service bath for my dog instead of the free exit bath she would get at the end of her boarding. They don't have many kitty enclosures and several weeks to fill my spot so I thought that was a little unfair considering the significant health risks for my cat if she were to lose that much weight for the 11 days of our vacation. The Hydrant is a great daycare/boarding facility for well-mannered dogs. They don't put up with any bad doggie behavior which, so far, works for me and my dog. However, they need to do better for their kitty clients or at least make them whole when unable meet obligations & expectations. read more

First off the facility is beautiful, clean and so trendy! And Kygo loves loves loves it! After a not-so-good stay at another boarding facility, we were so excited when Hydrant opened because the pets get their own room to sleep and are allowed to bring their own bed and toy which makes Pepper feel more comfortable. This is my dog's favorite place to go. After our last doggy daycare moved out of state, I researched many pet hotels in our area. Our dog Hazel is a Great Dane/Catahoula mix so I needed to find a place that would take very large dogs. When I called Hydrant for the first time, Megan was very warm, welcoming and forthcoming on the phone and I immediately trusted her. Megan and her partner Brooke also have two Great Danes of their own so that was an immediate plus. We have been taking Hazel there ever since and she loves it! The place is immaculate with the most modern facilities. They even have a jumping fountain which the dogs go crazy for. There are dogs of all sizes and they all play together and have a great time. There are also separate areas for small dogs where they can romp together. There's a beautiful outdoor area as well as a large indoor area for play, along with private soundproof rooms for overnighters. I would give Hydrant the highest recommendation possible. And in a time of COVID were the expectations should be empathy and FLEXIBILITY. This place has left us in complete awe and disappointment. Seriously, the best dog boarding and daycare in the area! My dog loves it here and just can't get enough. The staff is amazing and knows all the pets by name. The facility is immaculate and my dog comes home smelling better than he did when he arrived! And I trust their staff and facility to take exceptional care of our dog while we travel. When boarding, each dog has a private room that is air conditioned and the whole facility has a sprinkler system. Even though there is staff at the facility around the clock, I feel better knowing that our dog is safe and happy in a state of the art facility that he loves. Our little lab puppy has only been going there for a week now but already loves it and just can't wait to get out of the car in the mornings when we drop him off. I have been taking my dog to Hydrant for the last 2 or 3 years and I have nothing but great things to say! I was very hesitant to take my dog to a day care type place because I was worried about him getting hurt, but Hydrant does an amazing job of watching the dogs and doing temperament tests for all the dogs. They are also excellent at keeping up with all the dog's vaccinations to prevent the dogs from making each other sick. My dog, Benji is always so excited to go to day care, he can barely wait to get inside. He is always exhausted when I pick him up! It has been great dog socialization for my dog and I truly trust Hydrant with my boy. Benji always comes home smelling great from day care because they use air purifiers of some kind. We checked out Hydrant Pet Hotel before bringing our dog in for his temperament test, and were blown away by how fun this place looked. This is one of the cleanest pet hotels I've been to, and the dogs are in a great environment for indoor and outdoor play. When we finally came in for our temperament test the staff was extremely accommodating because we had to come in last minute before our trip. The online scheduling portal and profile made it easy to upload files for immunization. Drop off was easy, and after dropping our lab puppy off, we he apparently immediately found the splash pad and made some friends in the water area which was awesome because it was 90 degrees that day. Our puppy came home safe and exhausted, and immediately slept for a solid 12 hours after a long day of playing with other dogs. We try to take our dog with us when we travel, but sometimes we cannot. This place gave us the confidence to travel without worrying and we really have trust in Hydrant. As a new dog dad (who didn't even know if he wanted a dog at first), I can tell you that I would never leave my puppy with anyone I didn't trust. We will be coming back to Hydrant soon! read more

Unfortunately I work a lot and have to board my dog more than I'd like. The upside is I found Hydrant!!! This is the first boarding facility my dog actually loves going to. It's a huge relief knowing people are caring for your dog as if she belongs to them. I absolutely love Hydrant!!! Can't say enough good things. read more
