Wow, wow, wow! We ordered from here because we needed a main dish for my Indian inlaws. My MIL is…read morea fantastic cook, and she made a bunch of amazing sides including Dahls, chipates, and bindi. These were meant to be ONLY side dishes. We had also bought jumbo shrimp from Costco, with heads to be the main course. (Her favorite!) This was an issue. Apparently these were disgusting and needed to be cleaned. There were so many shrimp. I'd slept exactly 1 hours the night b4 because my in-laws were jetlagged and wandering around the house and backyard at 3am. I'd also worked a full day. So I suggested take out for the main. It was unpopular, however there was no way I was letting MIL clean shrimp by herself for hours and no way I was spending the next two hours of my life helping her do it after working a full day and sleeping 1 hour. To give my husband credit, he researched this place extensively. We ordered the saag chicken, which was exceptional. It stood up to the other dishes on the table. (I have not ordered from an Indian restaurant in the Boston area that comes close to how good this spot was. My in-laws would have complained about every other spot. They liked this one.) Instead they thought it was great, and they are so difficult to please. Pray for me, tomorrow I gut perfectly lovely jumbo shrimp for their black vein and remove the head. (My husband is the one who bought these and paid extra for the head. He is doing extensive yard work involving a lot of heavy lifting, otherwise he'd be in charge of this job. I will also not be helping him, as was planned so he will suffer) Suffice it to say, 10/10 would recommend. Planning on adding it to my regular rotation. It will be approved by your Indian in-laws. (Also don't buy fancy shrimp for them!)

Certainly was the best sambar I tasted-- authentic without being too overpowering. My first time trying Bhimli Chaat so I can't say much about it, but it was really enjoyable. The food tastes more home cooked vs many other South Indian restaurants I've tried (largely in the NYC metro area). Décor is okay; nothing special but it is spacious enough to host tables of up to 6, maybe more if you talk to them/ make reservations. Service was a little slow (but I did come shortly after they opened for dinner) but quite nice.

Veg samosa are really good and if you dine in, there are 3 sauces and they are so good. The one that is spicy is my favorite if you like spice, got a real kick to it. Unfortunately the chicken tikka was too creamy for me. It seemed more like a butter chicken more than anything so wasn't a fan

Longer review: The outside of the building is unremarkable, but plenty of parking is available. The inside is tidy, clean, and inviting. Air-conditioning was a definite plus on a 90 degree day. The wait staff are enthusiastic and friendly and quite helpful. The menu leans to food from the Northern region of India and also Nepal. If your heart is set on something like a dhosa or food associated with southern India, it won't be here. Just keep in mind that India is a large country and includes several distinct cooking regions. What is on offer at Turmeric House is exceptionally good, so no one should leave disappointed. Not at all! My wife ordered the vegetarian daily special, and I complemented that choice with the non-vegetarian version with different chicken dishes. Other meat was available to order, also. The specials reminded me of what could be called an Indian version of a Japanese bento box, except larger and with greater variety - too much to list here. Think of it as a kind of Indian buffet served up as one order. The food choices blended well and the quantity was more than ample as well as delicious. My wife finished her order for the next day's lunch. Note that these lunch specials were not listed in the on-line menu. To sum up: a wonderful dining experience. We live closer to the sister restaurant in Plymouth and will visit there at some point.

The ambience is clean and comfortable. The food is terrific! I have dined here many times with many friends and coworkers. When we're indecisive about where we want to go this place is always a top choice. I have tried many dishes here and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food. In all honesty, there may have been some flavor combinations that I didn't like her. Perhaps a dish was too spicy, but that is more a personal preference than a statement about the quality of the food. I tend to like heat so I do like spiciness. However, when I ask for a little spice, my understanding of what constitutes a little spice is not always the same as the chefs. Sometimes I think my face will catch fire so I have to say please just only use mild spice. Lol. One of my go to dishes is chicken, tiki masala, butter, chicken, garlic, vegetable, samosas, and butter nann soft leavened northern Indian flatbread. It is simply delicious to dip pieces of this into the tiki masala sauce. Also delicious is the mango lassi. I have not tried this sweet creamy ice cold refreshing beverage you don't know what you're missing! The mango lassi is made with fresh mango, plain yogurt, a little bit of cream or milk, and a little bit of sweetener and a sprinkle of cardamom. It is highly addictive. I have on many occasions ordered a mango lassi to go with a side order of just a cup of ice. I like my mango lassi is super icy and cold. The vegetable samosas are so enjoyable that my family often orders several to go for a nighttime snack. Samosas are crispy, fried Indian pastries filled with a spiced savory mixture mashed potatoes, peas, ginger, green chilies, and spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala. All in all, the Turmeric House is wonderful.

The menu is really diverse (all day breakfast, appetizers, variety of veg + non-veg), the curries come with rice, and the food portions were great as compared to the price. My guess as to why this place doesn't get the same recognition as other restaurants is because it is Indian food. The food at Tiranga is all authentic Indian street food. But if you go expecting to get an authentic sandwich, the type you get on the streets of Bombay, along with Maggi ketchup, this is your place. Their live Pani Puri is also an authentic experience. The service was great and the ambiance is also good. It's a small place so it may not be good for large groups. But they are open late and will satisfy the craving for a late night spicy snack. This place is seriously underrated and a gem. Maybe one day we'll come around to giving Indian cuisine more respect, and when that day comes, I have no doubt that Tiranga will get some awards.
