Sadly, Coriander Bistro has new owners, and the restaurant has changed for the worse. I've been there 3x since it changed ownership, and I'm not sure whether I'll go back. Today, the heat was off (the plates and flatware were sooo cold!), the lights were off, and the music was off. The food at the buffet was also not plentiful -- they ran out of rice and only 1/2 refilled it, and we even had to ask for naan. Only 2 other parties were in the restaurant with us at 12:30 PM, which definitely tells me that others have noticed. This place used to be packed for lunch buffet on a Saturday! Service was incredibly slow and inattentive, which is very odd because 2 servers were present and only 3 tables had diners. I'm so disappointed! This truly has been my favorite restaurant for several years, both before and after they were closed for 6 mos in 2023. I may have to try eating here again in a few months, in hopes that they get it together.

Amazing experience at Coriander Bistro! I randomly picked this place for my family and we loved it! The Dinner for two is an amazing deal for new visitors to try everything. The butter chicken I can't stop talking about! I'm usually not a fan but I could eat it like soup here. Highly recommend!

This place beats out a lot of the competition in Indian food. For an app, we got Vegetable Momo dumplings (identified as 'Nepali' specialty). These were truly excellent and not at all what they look like in the photos, i.e. frozen wontons. An interesting mix of sesame flavor, tomato, and fresh veggies. If I had to criticize, I'd say I would wish the portion size was just a little bigger for this app, given the price. However taste and quality in this and the other dishes were excellent. For mains, I got Lamb Kabob and the wife got Chicken Tiika Saag. The lamb was tender nicely marinated, generously portioned and covered with fresh cilantro. Wife's chicken was also quite good and portions were good. The meat was tender, tasty and not greasy. Another thing I liked about this place was they provided the Basmati rice at no extra charge. Many places would charge extra. They also threw in a couple of Papadum crackers and the three chutneys that you often get when dining in at an indian restaurant. Even though this was a minor detail, the chutneys had a fresh taste, not a cheap canned taste that you'll often find in the average Indian restaurant. So yeah, I thought this place was pretty damm good. Really a 4.5 stars based on our experience. I think this might be my new go-to place for Indian.

Everything was labeled clearly for gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian & vegan!!!! Such a relief to be able to eat amazing ethnic foods without worrying! The ambiance: Well done. I liked the vibe in there. The service: The night was busy for a rainy Wednesday night, but they kept up pretty well although maybe a tad slower than normal. HOWEVER, there was a beautiful Indian waitress that seemed to be running the place who was a cut above the rest as she was warm, friendly and cared and here's why: My mom was looking at desserts and couldn't decide which she wanted but ended up picking one with the waitress' help. Somehow, this waitress picked up on the fact it was my mom's birthday and mimed to me when no one was looking to double check that she was right -- no one had mentioned to her it was a birthday before that. Then, she came out with a sample platter of all 3 desserts with a candle and sang happy birthday. My mom was happy and it was a really cute moment. That kind of customer service is so rare these days, I had to write a review for it. Thank you Turmeric House for a great evening!

Tucked away in a plaza on Route 103 in Riverside, Swad has a nice decor and every time I visit there are at least a few tables full. Swad features a Himalayan dumpling called a Momo that is pretty incredible - lovely spices and so much fun to eat. There is a vegetarian Momo in addition to one with lamb. The butter chicken is apparently well loved and I tried it twice - once takeout, and once in the restaurant; my eleven year old told me it is her favorite chicken dish ever, FWIW. I also tried the chicken Madras and a few of the apps. Everything was very well made. Really thrilled that Swad is in Riverside!

They sent out a special rice pudding dish for us at the end & we felt like celebrities. Also, what a treat to meet Raj, the owner! Wishing them the best of success for the future. Riverside is lucky to have them.

The restaurant was comfy; there was an electric fireplace on the wall which made the room feel homey. We got fried pork momos, which were delicious and juicy. I was interested in trying the C-style, but we had a non-spice eater at the table. I got the pork chili from the appetizer menu and garlic naan for my meal, and my companions got the chow mein and sekuwa. The chow mein looked standard and sekewa was grilled chicken served with puffed rice (looked like rice krispies). Everyone was happy with their meals, but I especially loved mine. There were slices of pork belly in a flavorful sauce with tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. Note that the pork belly still has the skin on it (which I personally love). My only complaint was at medium, the food seemed mild, but I'll be clearer of my spice preferences next time. I would definitely come back specifically for the pork chili!

Decent South Asian and Nepalese place with surprisingly a karaoke night!…read more The bara is a fried pancake of sorts, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dipping sauce was good as well, possibly a mint-like flavor. The pork momos were really good too, with nice crimping on the skin and decent fillings inside. The chicken vindaloo was decent, though I might have liked more specificity to the flavoring of the vindaloo. The potatoes were nicely textured. The chicken bites were a bit large, they could have been chopped up a bit. The gorkhali khasi (a goat curry) was fairly decent with tender nice pieces. The flavoring was oversalted and again could have used a tad more definition. The bone-in aspect was appreciated as it held the flavor of the meat. The bhindi masala (okra) was fairly successful with a solid infusion of flavor into the okra. The dish was overall too oily though and some steps need to be taken to minimize the oil. All in all quite enjoyable!

We got there mid afternoon and the place was not busy. We greeted and seated almost immediately. It was a super pleasure to have Sandesh as a server and what a super nice and helpful man. Not only did he treat us well but also explained a lot about Nepali food and culture as we asked. He checked on us often as his way to make sure that everything was going well and if we had any questions. I learned that water buffalo(buff) is one of the favorite proteins in Nepal. We were informed that they get the meat from a farm in NY and that they like to keep to authentic flavors. For an appetizer we went for the buff pan fried momos. We had both spicy and non-spicy dipping sauces since I prefer non-spicy. I found the sauce delicious and the buff to be an interesting protein that I would try again. For my main course I went for the chicken thali after learning that it is one of their traditional meals. You get a little bit of everything including dessert - a delicious greek yogurt mixed with green cardamom and coconut. Our server mentioned that if we wanted anything extra (except for the protein) that they would be happy to bring it. We had tons of leftovers because we tried several dishes and asked if we could have more rice and they provided a complimentary container when our food was packed. Place is super clean and has beautiful Nepali decorations. Even your bill is brought in a wooden box with Nepali carvings. There was soft music playing in the background. We were curious about the hot pot tables but were informed that they were left by the previous restaurant but that they don't offer hot pot. The women's bathroom is cleverly decorated with Nepali scenes and has a beautiful authentic faucet. Our server informed us that on Wednesdays and Thursdays they offer what he described as Nepali street food. Selected dishes are $5 except for a a whole fried fish that is $10. We might have to check them out one of these days. An overall great and unique find!
