ATTENTION: I've worked at bigeye sushi, wasabi, numerous sushi restaurants in north east Ohio and in Fort Lauderdale and Miami and the Hyde out is one of the best I've had. Buying a special then qualifies you for another alcohol special, a $1 22 oz beer!!! Like wth?! Omg! I can't even begin to describe how fantastic the sushi is. First you should know this is a total dive sports bar - ripped seats and everything. Hilarious because it's appearance is so misleading to the phenomenal food!!! Our waitress was hilarious. He had multi colored hair, piercings & a headband with cat ears on it. She could not have been nicer!! Service was amazing and super friendly. But the sushi! OMG!!! Probably the best sushi I've ever had!! It was amazing! We had an appetizer that had a crab mixture on top of Pringle's. Who does that? I tell you what -- it was DELICIOUS!! Our sushi rolls were large and wonderful. I have to give a three because the Asian cuisine is really good, but the American cuisine needs some help. I have eaten here on various occasions and still end up on the Asian side of the menu. Also their drink prices are slightly high in my opinion in comparison to other nearby bars. read more

Ordering online was so easy and pickup ready within 15 mins is great. We decided to try some new sushi special rolls and we were glad we did! We went with the volcano and the best friend roll. Both were so good. Chicken and shrimp hibachi was great too, chicken was a bit dry and they didn't include any sauce other than soy sauce but that could have been our fault for not asking for any. Stopped in, was not what we expected to see in regards to cleanliness or service. It is a bar forward place, that sells sushi too. We sat down and never were greeted or could tell who the server was. The service was slow even though there was barely any people inside. Our to go food took almost an hour and when I got home with it, it was cold and stale...the waitress never came to check on us to see if we wanted another drink and they bagged all of our to go food together even though it was all separate. I found this place by accident while searching Yelp for new places to eat in Akron. Based on the location alone I almost scrolled right on past...sushi over on Waterloo? Yeah, no. However, between the Yelp reviews and the Google reviews I was slightly intrigued. Although, I figured the people eating here and giving these rave reviews must be accustomed to gas station sushi. It took me months to get up the courage to head over...and I only had one friend who was adventurous enough to go with me. Don't be put off by the looks of this place, it looks like you will be leaving with a bad case of food poisoning, but I'm happy to say that I was wrong on all accounts! This place is a diamond in the rough. Do they have the absolute, best sushi I have ever had in my life? No. But, they're actually better than a lot of the sushi bars in the "upper class" areas I have been to that charge far more for much smaller cuts of fish. They also have a lot of "special" rolls and quite a few of them are pretty different from other sushi bars. The bartender, I wish I could remember her name, was a doll. She was so personable and had plenty of recommendations. I will definitely be back. Oh, and you can't beat their bogo deals. That sets them apart from other sushi bars in the area.
