The wait was about 10 minutes, and it wasn't terrible. The food was delicious I didn't have any complaints, the ambiance of this diner is just old people.

Thick shake

Today 7/5/23 was our first time here. We hadn't even realized they'd moved into the old Pizza Hut building until we were driving around lost trying to find a doctor's office with the incorrect address. The parking lot was full when we arrived around noon. They have a regular entrance and an accessible entrance on opposite sides of the building. I use a mobility scooter and had no trouble getting into the building. We were greeted by an enthusiastic and smiling face and seated with Lin seconds even though they had to bus the table first. The place was hopping, which we took as a good sign. Our server revealed that she is the daughter of the owner, her mom, who does the cooking. I did not realize until talking with her that this place existed for 22 years in another (out of the way and very small) location. They moved into the current location on May 1. I ordered a Diet Pepsi; my partner asked for a "thick" chocolate shake. The server immediately offered him a glass of water as well, and the drinks arrived super quickly. The shake showed up in maybe 3 minutes and was thick enough that the straw stood up in it. It had a very nice whipped cream "hat." We both had some, and it was delicious. I ordered a grilled Reuben with a bowl of veggie beef barley soup and one blueberry pancake. My partner ordered the French toast platter (2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 pieces of French toast). The food arrived shockingly quickly and everything was hot and fresh. The soup was delightfully thick and tasted like my mom's homemade. This stuff did not come out of a can. The Reuben was perfectly toasted, not soggy, and arrived cut in half with the thousand island dressing on the side. The pancake was easily 8-9" across and thick and full of juicy blueberries. The eggs were a perfect over easy, the French toast was crisp on the outside and soft in the middle, the bacon was nice and crispy, the sausage was perfect. The pancake and French toast arrived with a scoop of butter on top and were hot enough to start it melting right away. The syrup on the table was Mrs Butterworth, which while it's not real maple syrup, it's still a good quality syrup and not some generic drek. The jelly box offered grape jelly, apple jelly, and seedless blackberry jam. Our requests for extra napkins and a small box were fulfilled right away. My partner said the men's restroom was narrow and the trash can was overflowing (not surprising given how busy they were), but clean and fully functional. This was by far the best restaurant experience we've had in a very long time. A+++++

An old school diner with no pretentions, lousy parking and tight seating. However, the food is wonderful and hasn't fallen into the "oh God, we have to jack up prices" mantra so many other places have. Service is amazingly friendly and efficient. We had Eggs Benedict and the 2 eggs with sausage and biscuits. Both were delightful.

Busy diner. Friendly staff, meal was pretty good, Not too far of a drive, parking a little tight.

If I order my eggs over medium, at Hydes they come out perfectly over medium every time, never slimy or fried hard.

Wow! It's so good to see such a cute vegan diner! This place is adorable!!!! Me and my partner went…read moreout for brunch and decided to try this diner and we are astounded! The staff are super friendly! We sat down and got our orders in super quick! Me and my partner split a milkshake and it definitely has to be the best milkshake i have had in so long. Our wraps came out soon after and they were amazing! It was super crunchy and all of the flavors played off each other so well and each bite was heavenly!!! I love this place and i will definitely come back next time I'm in the area!

This is what I would consider a hidden gem in Ithaca because I've driven by it a hundred times and…read moredidn't even know it. My friends and I came here for 2 reasons. 1. I'm lactose intolerant and 2. 1 of us is vegetarian. This place checks all the boxes and we both can order without having to worry about anything. They also have wheat free options which is another plus. I got the breakfast wrap and it was probably one of the best wraps I've ever had. Definitely stepped out of my comfort zone trying it because I've only had the cheese on it but none of the other ingredients. I also got the strawberry mango smoothie with oat milk and it was the perfect match to my wrap. My friends had already eaten here and were raving about how good the cheese fries were and how I could actually eat them and they really were so good! Over all it was such a great experience and I love the diner vibes. The parking is a little iffy because it's in the same area of Dominos so it's a little limited but there's a parking garage around the corner and street parking is always an option. I have a new favorite place to eat where I can order and enjoy what I'm eating in peace.
