I've been a member of hybrid house for over two years now. I started as a class pass member and really enjoyed the boxing class. The coaches and the members are so welcoming so I joined as a full time member back in 2023. I've gained a whole community of members and coaches who hold me accountable and encourage me to push myself to be the best version of myself everyday. I'm the most confident and fit that I've ever been in my life. Once I started trying other classes, I was introduced to the 12 week program that they conduct. In addition to the 12 week program that includes 3 main lifts, aerobic & anaerobic tests, Hybrid House also has other cross training workouts, our own run clubs, the occasional weekend hike and Hybrid House hosts a number of competitions at the gym. Hybrid House has something for everyone with plenty of class times and class types. I can't recommend Hybrid House enough, definitely check them out!! read more

HH is a really supportive and challenging environment. From my "on ramp", to classes, to 1:1 training with DJ, each experience was amazing. They really work to make you feel comfortable which was key because I had never lifted weights before. If you're looking for strength training in an environment that is truly into teaching, supporting and nurturing, this is the place to be. And shout out to DJ. He's a great trainer who really understands your needs and can distract you when you're doing your less favorite moves. DJ, Jamie, Timmie and Sierra and all high quality humans care about everyone in the gym. They create an environment where everyone is welcome. read more

I joined Hybrid House Gym in May 2025, and honestly, it's been life-changing. From day one, I felt welcomed into a community that genuinely supports and uplifts each other. The coaches are incredible--knowledgeable, encouraging, and truly invested in your progress. They take the time to get to know you, not just as a member, but as a person. What really sets this place apart is the owner, Timmie. She leads by example in the best way possible--she's right there taking classes alongside us. Her energy is contagious, and it's clear how much she cares about every single member. She creates an environment where you feel seen, supported, and motivated to grow. If you're looking for more than just a gym--if you want a community that pushes you and has your back--Hybrid House is it. read more

I never want to move out of Long Beach for numerous reasons, and Hybrid House is one of them. As someone who has always struggled with fitness and finding my place in a gym I can truly say Hybrid House has become a second home. The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and willing to help answer any questions and support you in your goals. The programming is effective and well thought out. I love that the workouts are shared on the app we use so that I can take my workouts with me when I travel too. The community at this gym is unmatched. No egos, no disrespect, just people cheering others on and working their hardest. I cannot recommend Hybrid House enough!! read more

Hybrid House - Gyms Near Me - Long Beach, California

The community at Hybrid House is one I'll cherish forever. I owe everything I've accomplished to them. The gym used to feel like such a chore to me, but after signing up here, I was able to find my passion for the gym again. The team and coaches here are so amazing and supportive. They really know how to encourage you to keep going and help you gain your confidence. I was never scared to push myself because I knew that they would be there to guide me. I've also learned so much from the coaches. Whether it's different techniques, improving stretching positions, or nutrition!! The things I've learned I'll never forget. It was a great feeling to see a gym so dedicated to their people because I knew then that it's a safe space. I'll forever appreciate the time and dedication this team makes for their community! read more

3+ years and this week will attend my 450th class - in the time I've been attending, this place keeps getting better and better. Tweaks to programming has upped the quality of classes, especially the aerobic and anaerobic classes that gave me what I needed for my endurance training. One-on-one new member orientation sessions helps those newbies come to their first classes with confidence and their bearings. Added classes including 4p slots allow me to more easily work it into my schedule - no excuses! Finally, the coaches are amazing and they walk the walk. They regularly attend classes showing how much they believe in the programming. read more

Hybrid House - Aerobic class with Coach Nat at the Retro Row location. - Gyms Near Me - Long Beach, California

I joined Hybrid House back in December with a clear goal in mind: I wanted to lose weight, build healthier habits, and become more consistent with my fitness routine. Like many people, I had started and stopped fitness programs in the past, and while I was motivated to make a change, I knew I needed the right environment and support system to help me stay committed long-term. Before joining, I spent a considerable amount of time researching local gyms and fitness communities. I wasn't looking for a big-box gym where I would feel like just another membership number. I wanted a place that offered structure, accountability, and a sense of community. Since joining Hybrid House and participating in the Shredded Nutrition Program, I've gained far more than physical results. I've developed a better understanding of how fitness and nutrition work together, built healthier habits, improved my confidence, and learned skills that I can carry with me for years to come. I no longer view health and fitness as something temporary or something I have to "start over" every few months. Instead, I feel equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle long-term. read more

This is honestly the best gym I've experienced--and I've been working out steadily for a decade. Classes are planned so you can go 5 days a week and get a full-body workout with weights and conditioning. The owner, Timmie, listens to feedback and she and the coaches are always improving. I told Timmie last September that my goal was to get leaner and stronger... she's helped me achieve that! For a thick person who's almost 50? It feels like a miracle! It's the community that I love the most, though. Diverse in age, gender, and culture--and queer-welcoming. I look so forward to my workouts! read more

I've been going to Hybrid House for about 2 years now and I still get excited to go to class. Timmie (the owner) really has something special going with her space. Queer friendly, fun and extremely knowledgeable coaches and a super authentic community keep me coming back. I've also participated in Timmie's Fit Over 40 program that focuses on fitness and nutrition for, you guessed it, women over 40. During the 12 week program I gained muscle, new lifting PR's and dropped 7 lbs and one pant size. I can't stress enough how obsessed I am with this gym. read more

When I first found Hybrid House, I was at my heaviest, feeling incredibly lost with how to improve my health journey, I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem. I was super intimated when I first arrived because I was at my (what I call) "fluffiest" and everyone else looked fantastic. After a month of being there I realized everyone there was on their own journey and that many had once experienced that moment of intimidation! So do you boo! This space WILL allow you to enjoy moving your body, improve your mental health and build incredible friendships! Oh also, I lost 25 pounds, and have SO much definition. I never thought I'd say I love my arms. read more

Hybrid House - Before: a week before I started my journey with hybrid house After: now - Gyms Near Me - Long Beach, California

I've been a member of Hybrid House since the first day owner Timmie opened 6 years ago in Signal Hill. I've done barbell strength training to running track sprints in run club to hiking SoCal peaks, and doing my first HYROX competition. From outdoor group classes at "The Yard" location before the sun rises, to online classes through Covid shutdowns, I continued my fitness journey with Hybrid. It's been six years and I'm still here getting stronger and improving my cardiovascular health. Now you'll find me at "The Church" retro row location; it's a more intimate indoor gym vibe. Same excellent programming from qualified, compassionate coaches. They coach, they listen, they cheer, they encourage, and best of all they each lead by example. After 6yrs I can deadlift 1.5x body weight, back squat 1.25x body weight, bench press 70% body weight, hold plank for 2 mins, and even do burpees and full pushups. Still working on getting an unassisted pull up but I know I'll get there if I stick with Hybrid House. This is a fitness family. Come join us if you want to live an active, fun, fit life. read more

Its been over 6 month since I signed up and from the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a clean, well-maintained space and a friendly atmosphere. All the coaches are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, always ready to offer guidance and a friendly word of encouragement. The group classes are challenging, fun, and keep you motivated. I really do enjoy being apart of a great community. read more

Hybrid House is a gem. I had been wanting to learn to lift for a long time but wasn't comfortable at a lot of gyms. The owner and coaches are skilled, knowledgeable, and kind! Learning to lift in a group setting is amazing. The gym is also a diverse community that I am proud to be a part of. read more

Hybrid house entered my fitness journey at the exact right moment. I had just finished running a few marathons and half marathons and my body needed a break from all the running. I knew I wanted to get back into power lifting but I didn't know where to start. Hybrid house provided me with the safety, structure and guidance to power lift and build muscle! The coaches are beyond supportive and knowledgeable, not to mention incredibly welcoming and friendly. I met so many friends through Hybrid House and now we keep each other accountable. We show up every single week and we're all making incredible gains. I feel stronger than ever and I'm excited to continue on this journey with Hybrid House! read more

In the last 6 months I've done my first fitness competitions, am doing another one this week, and will be running my first marathon in less than a few weeks! I feel like none of this would've been possible without the great training and community at Hybrid House. My favorite thing are the diversity of workouts, but also the real intentionality on strength building and progressive overloads. Really grateful for this gym! read more

Love love love hybrid house! Great selection of classes that vary from weight training to mixed cardio classes. Timmie the owner has built something great with her two locations in Long Beach. All of the coaches are incredibly supportive and really have a mindful approach to their classes to ensure everyone is challenged but capable of completing the workout. read more

There are not enough words but I'm still going to drop some. I googled "gyms near me" last August and got so lucky to come across this gem. After a trial session I signed up with no hesitation. From day one the coaches and people were amazing, an environment I've never experienced in a gym before. As a member I show up week after week, but so do my coaches and that's where the magic happens. With their expertise comes reward for us -- the members. I signed up to find myself again after having two children. I wanted to be the "old me", the physically strong woman I knew was underneath my mama mask and boy did I find her! I feel strong, capable, and confident again. Timmie has an amazing thing going here at Hybrid House. Between the coaches and members, this has got to be the best in LB no doubt! Forever grateful! read more

This place is really life changing! Here's a little story: I got there looked around and just saw a bunch of cool, friendly people that made me feel welcomed right away. Me, thinking this isn't going to be that bad! But oh boy how wrong I was. All those moms, dudes and dudettes turned out to be the toughest people I've ever met. Within the first 15 min I was huffing and puffing and I really saw my life passing in front of me for a second. But everyone around me was so supportive not just the coaches but also every member of the gym, even though they were running like the flash in front of me and lifting way heavier than I ever could. It was inspiring, encouraging and to be honest one of the best work out experiences of my life to that moment. Fast forward two years or so I'm so happy I found this place packed with awesome people and coaches. Now I get to be the one encouraging new members, trying make them feel welcomed just the way everyone else made me feel. Even when I see in their eyes that they are definitely watching their lives pass in front of them (I feel you buddy, I've been there and as they say "you'll be fine") Go to Hybrid House! read more

Ok, so I'll start by saying I am not a CrossFit person and at first glance it's easy to think that's all this is. Couldn't be further from the truth! Hybrid House is all about individual performance, community, and taking your health and athleticism to the next level. And you feel that when you're in there. Coach Timmie is ALL about form - when you're doing the exercises she's pushing you to use the correct muscles and execute properly, so you know you're getting maximum benefit with minimum risk. So many places set you on a timer at stations and you're left on your own to hope you're doing it right. Not here. Plus the people, coaches and clients, are super cool (not sure what I took more of - laugh breaks or water breaks)! This location is new to the area too, so you'll be in good company with a lot of new clients (myself included)! Check it out; you won't regret it. read more

THE BEST PLACE TO WORK OUT! MY SANCTUARY! Coach Timmie has done a PHENOMENAL job at creating the perfect space to get that next "level up" in strength and conditioning! And right in the heart of Downtown LB. This new location has everything necessary for a top tier work out -- a variety of open class times, a great range of equipment and weights, knowledgeable and friendly coaches, clean bathrooms (with shower ), and positive energy! I have been a member of Hybrid for a few years now, and I can tell you, there is no other fitness community like it. If you want to get stronger, meet your fitness goals, and meet some awesome new friends, you gotta check it out. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER FOR AN AMAZING GYM AND COMMUNITY!!! The owner, Timmie, has done an incredible job creating a welcoming, positive, and kick ass place to work out! I was really struggling to find a gym that I was truly happy at, and I feel so lucky to now call Hybrid House my home! The coaches are absolutely amazing! Ive taken classes with Timmie and Sara and they are both great! They are very encouraging and accommodating if you need any movement substitutions. (I have prior injuries) The workouts themselves are incredible! They call themselves "hybrid" because you truly get a little bit of everything. Coming from a Crossfit background doing the same couple barbell movements over and over, I love the variety in the classes they offer. Im NEVER bored at Hybrid House! I feel like Ive gained so much strength since Ive started at Hybrid House! The other members are also very nice and welcoming! Starting at a new gym can be somewhat intimidating, but the other members in class made me feel at home very quickly! If you are looking for a fun place for workout please check them out!!! read more

Hybrid House is the absolute best. I had NEVER been to a gym before, and was suggested this one from a friend, and have been going for almost 6 months now...I feel like I found a home. Having never been to a gym before, and very intimidated by them and gym culture in general, walking into a smaller and more intimate space was SO helpful for me. The best part...the coaches REALLY give you their attention. I'm a curious person and want to know the why behind the what, and every single one of the them answers my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I've learned so much that I can now take with me to future workouts and beyond. I also really enjoy the size of the gym: it's basically got two rooms. For someone who often has option paralysis, and is still learning a lot, it's really helpful to see a few machines, barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, a few other things...it just helps me focus and feel like whatever workout is ahead is more attainable. It feels more intimate, and really lends to that community experience. Definitely my preference, and I'll now be spoiled forever for the size of a gym! Being a queer person working through body and gender issues, it's a really big deal to be able to go somewhere you're going to be working hard and facing your weaknesses and then know that you're safe. I am exploring name change right now, and told Timmie (the owner of the gym, a queer woman who I will rave about in just a moment) that I wanted to go by a different name than she had previously known me by (for over a month! I had sampled some classes at their other location). Next week I showed up, she and the other coaches were using my chosen name. No questions, no weird, no mistakes. That was a MASSIVE deal to me, as it was the first place I was really trying it out. That made me feel incredibly safe and respected, and I've felt so supported in my fitness but also gender journey here. The reason being...this place is all about community! It's really just about a group of people hanging out and lifting kettlebells and shit. It's fantastic, I go every week to improve my fitness and reach my body goals, but also because I care about seeing these people every week. That's a good feeling. Coach Timmie is a rockstar. A true champion of others, she pushes people INTO their potential. I've never felt pushed beyond my limit here in a way that felt violating or overwhelming...it has instead felt motivating, and rewarding when I see the payoff of the push! Timmie is down-to-earth, kind, and supportive. I'm so happy to be supporting a gym that supports the community so well! ALL the coaches are fantastic, but special other shout-out to Coach Tim & Coach Blake! I work with them the most throughout the week, and they've really helped me improve and grow stronger. They're both so skilled at making others feel comfortable and capable, and again...that's a huge deal in this kind of environment! I appreciate the time y'all have invested in me. I look forward to your classes each week. I don't even know how one goes about gym-shopping, but you really don't have to search once you've come across Hybrid House. I'd recommend it to anyone, and often do...mostly because I didn't think I could do the things I can do now, and that's a pretty big deal to witness in yourself. Thank you, HH, for everything! read more
