Iconix in Long Beach was a great find! This place did not disappoint! The equipment was top-notch, the locker room was clean, and the overall gym atmosphere was great. Even better, the day pass was free, which was a huge plus! They also have a juice bar with some really good drinks, making it a nice spot to grab something refreshing after a workout. My only complaint, which has nothing to do with the gym itself, was the parking situation. With the construction going on, parking was a bit of a mess. The construction also took away from the impact of the beautiful views the gym boasts from its top floor, which was a little unfortunate. As a frequent gym-goer, I really appreciated what Iconix had to offer. Between the quality of the equipment, the clean facilities, and the amenities, it's a gym I'd absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a place to work out while visiting Long Beach. I'd definitely come back again!

I prefer Naples fitness over other gyms because of the one-on-one attention that is given along with a clean and professional gym. David does a great job listening to his clients in what outcome they are looking for then works together with you to achieve that. I appreciate how knowledgeable David is about the human body and how he adjusts workouts based on my needs and abilities. He also creates and designs a work out program specifically to me. I can discuss diet and stretches that help me on my own time. When injured David takes the time to focus on the issue with stretches, mobility and muscle massages. Overall there's nothing bad I can say about Naples Fitness and I'm thankful I have a gym like this to go to.

Naples Fitness is so awesome that I lost a pound just walking in the door. Seriously, they're THAT…read moregood. ;) To be fair and give an honest assessment, I must share that I do know the owner Dave, but that does not mean my review is slanted as a result. I have had personal training before, both in a gym and independently. The NF studio rates top notch in my book. The clean and spacious environment affords great equipment and a welcoming atmosphere. Want to watch TV? Done. Want good music to pump iron too? Done. Need a locker for your valuables? Done. And how about the nicest bathroom I've ever seen in a fitness studio? Done, yet again. Dave is a great person and fantastic personal trainer. He is super friendly and wants to tune into you completely for the best workout. Dave is there to motivate you, ignore your excuses, get you pumped and make sure you do it all effectively and safely. While I don't know the other trainers individually, when I met them at the Seal Beach 5/10k, they were all super friendly and highly supportive of all the event participants running on behalf of Naples Fitness. A core reason I like NF is their involvement and support for community events while also supporting health and fitness. Whether it's in getting a group to do a community run, take donations for the Ronald McDonald house, or give away free beach boot camp classes in exchange for food, NF and their staff are never too busy to do great things on a local level. I love my city, and so does Naples Fitness. So, what you really want to know about is the workout, right? Each exercise and workout is tailored specifically to you, your ability, your initial fitness level and your goals. The workouts structured for me have been great, some familiar to me and some new, and completely doable both in and outside the fitness studio. The hardest, and while I hesitate to admit it, but also the best part of the time I worked with Dave was when he worked on my hamstrings and tight muscles. I've never had that done for me, and while it totally caused me to cringe, wince, cry and maybe curse a little, it was the best part of my workout and long over due. I just might sign up for that torture alone. Ultimately, it isn't my review that's going to get you to get off the couch and sign up. It's going to be your choice, and when you're ready, choose Naples Fitness.

I was on the waitlist for a 7:30 PM class and was only added at 7:00 PM--giving me just 30 minutes' notice. That evening, I came down with a fever. Wanting to be considerate and avoid getting other members sick, I had my partner go to the front desk in person to explain the situation and cancel. Despite this, I was charged a $10 cancellation fee. When I followed up, I was told they have a strict 'zero exceptions' policy. While I understand having rules around attendance, penalizing members for acting responsibly when ill, especially after being added from a waitlist on such short notice, is poor customer service. The facility and classes are great but this really rubbed me the wrong way.

He's energetic, magnetic, knowledgeable, funny, and just genuinely great at what he does. We always look forward to his classes. He's been such a steadfast presence at OT, and at this point it honestly wouldn't feel the same without him. He knows how to push you while still keeping the room fun, positive, and engaging. We've also been lucky to have some other incredible coaches along the way. Coach Alex is always inspiring and has a way of making you think beyond just the workout, whether it's asking what your word for the quarter is or what you're intentionally working toward in life. Coach Ibby's energy is unmatched. She can instantly pump up the room while also giving really detailed, helpful technical guidance on the weight floor. The front desk team deserves a shoutout too. They're always friendly, welcoming, and help create the positive, fun vibe that has kept us coming back all these years.
