It would be really helpful if you weren't confronted as a yoga newbie with instructors trying to get you to do hand stands or the very challenging moves and weight lifts in the Pilates x Strength class. I think they need to give info to the members about difficulty ahead of time or section off some classes as beginner, etc. I belong to another Club Studio in a different city as well, so I'd have to say the staff at the front desk at this club can be a little unfriendly and inattentive compared to the other club. But I love most of the yoga teachers at this Club Studio, and I really think they made great choices in hiring Sandi, Kelly, Karen, and Jason. They all have great personalities and try to make the classes accessible for people with injuries or special problems . But if you're a senior with a lot of physical problems, this club is probably not for you. The emphasis is definitely on the youthful customer here, and I hope I can keep up with the classes for as long as I'm physically able before I have to go somewhere else less challenging.

Apparently your account can become unfrozen after a certain period of time and they could give a flying crap about that. I had doctors notes and actual procedure dictation and how much time I was supposed to be off for an Achilles tendon injury plus the birth of my child. I didn't want to cancel but at the end of the day I should've just canceled now knowing that they are literal crooks that took thousands of dollars from me without any check-in at their facility. HORRIBLE!!!

This place has gotten better. Customer service is enhanced. They are actually starting to greet you. "Hello, how you doing sir or mam." I was quite surprised. With the closure of the La fitness in South/Downey, foot traffic has increased. This La fitness was prepared. Accommodated by closing the basketball court and converting it to a free weight workout zone. I thought that was a good idea. No more pick up games means no more loud and annoying b ballers causing trouble. "MY OPINION ONLY" Facility is well maintained to cleanliness. Workers cleaning equipment, vacuuming the floor, re racking weights, cleaning weights and cleaning treadmills. Kudos for doing that!! Bathroom is cleaner then before. Carpet looks nice and there is always on going mopping. It was worse before. Overall, I see change for the better at this location. People seem happy to workout. Keep it up La fitness. Never forget to greet your customers. We are the customers that keep you in business. Always be kind , courteous and professional. This is my gym. Keeping it clean is always good for business. So keep in mind, if you go over your 2hrs of workout. You will have to pay extra. Everything is brand spanking new inside this gym. New weights, new equipment, new bathrooms.. etc! This will last for at least 5 to 6 years until mold accumulates and machines starts breaking down. So I would join right now to enjoy the clean amenities. Perfect time. All is pending on the up keeping on everything. If people are trash, in no time this place will be destroyed. This place is 24hrs 7 days a week! Awesome place. Staff is very friendly. The girl at the front desk just blatantly lied to me over the phone…read more Calling from the sauna... Me: hey the sauna isn't working. Customer service: The sauna hasn't been working for a long time. POV: me the very night before, in the HOT "broken" sauna. Me: I was here last night and it was working perfectly fine. Also, there isn't even a sign. Her: oh there should be a sign. [Hmmm, if it is an amenity that is broken wouldn't it be a safety violation for your thousands of patrons to have no signage for your sauna "that has been broken for a long time" ] Her (backtracking): oh, actually we have no way of turning the sauna on and off. [I was shocked at her audacity, because even after being caught in her lie. No remorse. Not even a slight apology. Which leads me to believe she is so solid with her supervisors who allow her to do stuff like this to not even apologies for her lie.] I walked out of the sauna to the majority of them hanging out in the customer service area - knowing they just watched her lie to me. Again makes me believe that their management not only allows her behavior, but most likely endorses it. Literally afraid to complain because I'm for sure going to be silenced. I'll figure out something. But for now this review will do. Customer service is abysmal, and second to their "hang out" time. Hopefully someone see's this and gets new management where customer service is at least somewhere in the building or at the very least much needed coaching for the entire team. Or a governing body to really audit and check what is going on with their lack of signage and the safety of the working-not-working amenities. Given that I've been a member for quite some time, I've observed so many things about this gym: the good, the not so ok Let's start with the good: - Equipment: Definitely top notch equipment - Outdoor Area: I didn't like it at first, but once you start going every so often you just get this different energy (plus we need more Vitamin D!) - Innovative: This gym is growing; I remember when it was just two workout areas, now expanded to 5 total as well as a sauna (free), a barbershop, a soon to be coffee shop, and a recovery room (additional pay). Oh and pilates! The not so ok: - Turnover: There's been a high turnover of employees, and I think this is where it starts with the owners. Granted, the owners from what I'm noticing are learning and they're only going to get better. But I feel like there's been a high turnover in the last year and a half so that says something. - Lack of Communication from Higher Ups: Again, every time I would speak to a worker, they know nothing about what's happening to the gym. As if, the gym is kept top secret. I just feel like there's a disconnect there, and should have more transparency with the owners and to the employees. - The vibe is preference. Some may like it some may not. I liked it at first, but recently it's starting to give me that 24 hour fitness vibe or EOS (used to be golds in Cerritos) vibe with "influencers" shirtless left and right filming. Filming is OK at this gym so they're setting the standard for that. But, I guess it just makes it awkward for someone like myself if I'm in someones film unintentionally. It's like I need to cater my workout so they can get the best footage. - I think for the price now ($179) they should serve towels, probably do better on maintenance like their drinking fountain, and heck even offer free pilates. If you think about it, club studio and other gyms are in this price range and all the classes are free. So maybe there's something to explore there I'm unsure. But if we're looking at the competitive landscape, at $179, there has to be some form of distinguisher, and top notch equipment can't just be it. Also, going back to employees. David here has been the longest one and I feel like this guy should have some form of ownership, or promotion. This was the only guy in my 1 and half years of being here that went above and beyond at the front desk. I remember he was genuinely concerned about my overall being (had surgery), and gave me options (freezing my account) before even closing it. Every other front desk is just "hi" "bye" "I don't know." But this guy really cares about the customers at the gym. And to the owners, you guys are trying I see that. And I can definitely see you guys improving and making adjustments. No matter the question, no matter how small, they're right there with answers, encouragement, and that warm energy that makes walking into the studio feel less like a workout and more like coming home.

I know that have that little hip thrust "helper" thing where you load your barbell and use it to lie your back on, but no actual machine. ever since I started using a machine for hip thrusts, the workout has been much easier so that's why I'm all for those machines now lol. but all in all this is still one of the better AF locations.
