The hotel was overall very nice, though a few aspects felt somewhat dated. Despite the app indicating otherwise, mobile key access was not available. The room was a standard size and comfortable, with a clean and pleasant atmosphere. The bathroom design, however, had a few inconveniences--for example, the shower can't be turned on without getting wet, and there was no place to hang a towel within easy reach. On the positive side, the location is outstanding, particularly for visiting the Rogers Centre and the many nearby bars and restaurants. The attached 00 Gelato shop was a delightful surprise--I highly recommend the tiramisu flavor. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the stay enjoyable. read more

A very nice hotel in the heart of Toronto. I stayed for three nights and enjoyed my stay. The location is awesome with just about everything you'd need close by. And by that I mean coffee shops (I suggest visiting French Made), restaurants, some shopping, things like that. The lobby itself is pretty with a giant koi pond with a fountain-like structure in the middle. There's also the bar and some tables and chairs. Near the elevators you'll find a mini store with snacks, drinks, and things you may have forgotten to pack. My room was a good size and to my surprise the bed was comfortable and I was able to sleep rather well. One pet peeve of mine at hotels is when the shower is impossible to turn on without getting wet, which was the case here. The lighting in the bathroom also wasn't the best. Thankfully I brought my own mirror so I was able to do my makeup in front of the window. Overall, better than the average, but not quite five stars. read more

Great hotel if you are looking to stay around the entertainment district or walk to the CN Tower/Rogers Center. 2 Adults and 2 small kids, we did find the room to be a bit on the tighter side with not a lot of walking room. Although beds were comfortable and we had a great sleep, we all agreed we were not fond that there was no head boards, which made it uncomfortable to sit up in bed. It was all hard empty space behind the mattress, which was too wide to pile up the pillows for sitting up. Bathroom was spacious. Rooms were very, very quiet, and we barely heard a peep in the hall or doors slamming. No loud steps or jumping from the rooms above us. Lobby was inviting, clean and fancy. There was a small table inside the lobby with crayons and paper for kids. Restaurant and washrooms below (you can take stairs or elevator down) Some food options close by (Starbucks attached to the building, Tahinis across the street, and Wendy's down the street). Checking in with luggage is a little challenging because of stairs at entrance and on floors. Service was excellent, Allan was helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is small but ok. The room is a decent size. Large TV at the end of the bed, wish it was a little higher. The area was nice for walking around. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! I am a solo female traveler and had the most distressing hotel experience of my life at this property. On August 29, 2025 at 11:30 PM, two male maintenance employees attempted to unlock my room with a master key while I was asleep. My Do Not Disturb sign was displayed. One of these employees had been in my room the day prior for an A/C repair and knew I was traveling alone. There was no notice, no authorization, and no legitimate reason. On-site management handled it terribly and tried to downplay it, later minimizing the incident as a "perception of forceful entry." Their first "solution" was to offer free breakfast, which was insulting given a clear safety breach. They then refused to provide the promised documentation and required me to spend additional loyalty points when I asked to relocate for my safety. Hyatt had every chance to resolve this privately through the BBB and chose not to take accountability. This was not "poor service." It was a serious breach of guest safety and duty of care. This hotel is dated, but as a dated hotel, the one bedroom suite is huge. The bathrooms have tubs, there are two air conditioning units in the room, one in living room and one in the bedroom. Great location. Right on many bus routes and the tram is a very close walk. I was a little worried about staying in the Entertainment District thinking it might be really loud and congested, but it really turned out to be a good location for everything we set out to do and our room was really quiet. There was a short period of jackhammering at 7am this morning, I was surprised when it stopped after a few minutes. So be sure to ask for a higher floor. One more thing about the bathroom and being an old hotel, the shower water pressure is great. read more

I'm a Hyatt loyalist and a Globalist so my review may be a little biased. This is an older hotel, some of the rooms are not the largest but I'm pretty sure most of the other downtown Toronto hotels are similarly cramped. The washroom was so tiny but the bedroom was large and relaxing. There is also no globalist lounge. The view is mainly just of neighboring skyscrapers and high rises. You are paying for location. This hotel is right in the middle of many downtown attractions and neighbourhoods. The suite is a small area with a pullout bed underneath a skylight with no covers. This'll only work if you're an early bird. It's not bad for a downtown Toronto hotel cause it is an old city. Not worth it if you're paying top dollar but otherwise ok. read more

We booked a king bed last week. Hotel is outdated but very clean. Shout out to the front desk Gwen. He upgraded us to a higher floor. We told him we are there to celebrate our 60th birthday and he send us a beautiful decorated dessert after our dinner. He gave us his number for anything we need. Also, he helped us book an early check in on Centric Hyatt on our trip to Montreal after Toronto. I recommend this place as it's close to all attractions and city transportation. This hotel looks dated from the outside, as it's steadily surrounded by skinny glass and steel condo towers. But inside, it provided a great mid-winter stay. The staff was kind enough to upgrade me to a suite with a view of the CN Tower, which can be seen in its full needly glory through a slot between the new construction projects. The room was comfortable and looked refreshed. The hotel is about a block and a half from and entrance to the expansive and nicely heated underground walkway system, which is about as far as you can make it when it's January, at least according to my thin California skin. I love the Hyatt Regency in Toronto. The hotel outside looks a bit old but inside is top notch. The room is up to standard. We stayed here for two nights. We got our room upgrade to a suite. The suite came with a jacuzzi bath tub. That was nice. Staff were super friendly. Service was great. This hotel had a roof top pool. Unfortunately no hot tub. The pool was ok. It was surrounded by tall buildings. It was quite strange hanging around in a pool surrounded by tall buildings and imagining the people living in those tall buildings looking over at the people swimming in the pool. The hotel has free Wi-Fi and it works great. One thing I found strange about this Hyatt is their elevators. Depending which elevator you get on, you might need to take the few steps of stairs. Not sure why they are not willing to just put in a ramp and call it a day. The location of the hotel was awesome. It was so conveniently located that it was walking distance to almost everything (CN Tower, Rogers Center, Union Station Etc.). I loved it. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. This was the perfect spot for our trip. It was central to everything we wanted to see and was close to transit stops which made it very convenient in the cold. This hotel is right next door to TIFF. Allan at the front desk/concierge was super helpful and kind. He let us know of the sauna in the fitness center. Due to the weather/time of year we didn't come prepared for the sauna so he sent extra robes and slippers to our room. The sauna was so nice after a long day of walking and a perfect way to unwind. The hotel was overall very clean and well kept. The Starbucks in the hotel was so nice and easy to access. We DoorDashed on meal to the room and the front desk does not accept them. You either have to meet them or there is a small desk in the lobby they will drop it off at. The room was nice and clean and easy to control the room temp. The bathroom was also clean and the hot water was quick to come out both at the sink and shower. My only gripe was I felt there weren't enough places to hang towels. There was a wooden panel in the bathroom that appeared to be an add on that covered an opening in the wall between the room and bathroom. It would have been nice to have something on that panel to hang extra towels in order to support re-use. Overall great staff and location. read more

This is a Hyatt Regency facade with an interior of a highway motel. How can you charge 446CA$ per night for a room which is the epitome of squalor and bleakness? The only perk was that the room was clean, but the furniture belonged to the past century (the 70s or 80s), the door latch did not close properly (safety?), and the bathroom counter was so minimalistic that I couldn't fit my beauty case. I was in town for a congress, and I heard that colleagues paid the same or less for much more beautiful and better kept rooms in other hotels. We arrived 4 hours before our check-in time however with some luck, and extra bucks, we got an upgrade to a higher floor (recommended!) for $40 CAD (about $36) and was able to unload our luggage; head out for good eats! Good size room, nice view of Toronto at night, and ample space for 3 girls and 3 luggages! You get 2 bottles of complimentary water. There's a Starbucks connected to the hotel - yes! Without having to walk a block out in the cold. That's a win! The bathroom is a little dated... but functional, the shower pressure is decent, the beddings are decent, comforter was nice and soft... wish the pillows had more fluff. This downtown Toronto hotel is on King St W and within a short walk to amenities such as restaurants, bars, CN Tower, Rogers Centre and Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It has free-WiFi, paid parking, an outdoor pool and wheelchair accessibility for guests. Front desk staff are friendly and very accommodating; be nice and get that at a minimum in return. I'm only here to visit 4 guests and they said their rooms were nice so I can't speak first-hand of the experience.  Just keeping my social distance with the COVID-19 situation and the safety of all. Lovely hotel with excellent customer service! Located in the heart of downtown, it is easy to walk to a grocery store, pharmacy, outdoor store, and lots of different restaurants pandering to all kinds of tastes. The rooms here are comfortable and the amenities are good. The pool on the 17th floor was an added surprise being outdoors. Next to it is the gym, large and spacious for all of your workout needs, though I didn't see anyone use it while I was there midweek. Inside there is a water station for filling up your bottle and small towels to dry your sweat with. By the exit to the pool there are pool towels and bins to put them in when you're done with them. There is an actual Starbucks store, not just a small hotel cafe that serves Starbucks in the lobby. There is also a restaurant on the bottom floor but with so many great options outside I didn't end up trying it. The menu looked great, however. read more

This may be the worst Hyatt Regency I've been to. Many Hyatt Places are better. First of all, there is like barely any presence off the street. 3 obscure doors and that's it. The parking is from another side. The parking garage is very tight. When you go up the elevator from parking to the lobby, that part is very tight as well. I rarely use a bellman, but would have been handy here - oh wait they don't exist. Check in agent was pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping people pleasant and helpful. Rooms themselves seem a little dated, lack of uniform stuff. 9th floor - hope that you are not handicapped because 2 of the 4 elevators are at a slightly lower elevation with no ramp. Also, some of the rooms lack fridges. Some of the TVs only have Chromecast and not real TV - lol wth is this. Gym is alright. Overall, not a Regency level kind of place. Only plus is location and friendly staff. read more

Rooms are what is expected in the financial district. Small and chic. They could do more with the upkeep of the rooms tho. Lots of chipping and staining scattered throughout the place. Also, the sheets were pilling so no matter how comfortable the bed was I still couldn't sleep with how scratchy the sheets were. Rooftop pool was small and shallow. Overall, our stay was great. The check-in process wasn't as long as we thought and everyone was really nice. We upgraded our room when we were checking in, so we got a room on the 20th floor. I think it was worth it! The view was nice and the service was great. If you're driving here, make sure you're ready to pay for the overnight hotel parking fee, which is about $30/night. The only redeeming fact about the parking fee is that you can park the car until 4pm the day you check out. The room was very clean, but we had a problem with the heater the first night. We had the heater on, but we were getting COLD air. :( There's a text-your-concerns service so we texted the management and they immediately fixed the problem for us. The room service was pretty good too. We ordered a burger and fruit platter, and it was yummy and fresh. The burger was cooked well and the fruit platter had a variety of fresh fruit (including figs!). It was also my birthday weekend so they gave us complimentary chocolate-dipped strawberries. One of my favorite amenities of the hotel is the fitness center. A lot of hotel fitness centers are small and scrawny but the fitness center here had a great view and was super clean. I would highly recommend staying at this place if you're in town! read more

The staff members are extremely helpful and nice here at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. Jay Hong at the frontdesk was outstanding and made sure our stay was the best Hyatt can offer. He was genuine in wanting to help and told us to let him know how he can help to make the stay even more comfortable. he was very professional and courteous. In addition to all that, he also chatted with us to give us some suggestions on what to do in Toronto. The room was clean and tidy. The cleaning staff made sure the room was fully stocked with supplies. There is a private parking lot that is right downstairs of Hyatt for $32 CAD, which gives you in and out privileges. It's very useful to have especially if you're staying here, parking on the streets is very difficult. Hyatt Regency Toronto will definitely be my hotel of choice since all the staff here were very nice, especially Jay Hong. A great hotel in downtown Toronto that's walking distance to chinatown, a local grocery store (water, snacks, etc.) and surrounded by local eats. Oh and there's a starbucks that's inside the hotel on the groundfloor that opens really early which is a plus. Something I found out the hard way, restaurants open late in Toronto. Anyway the hotel itself was clean and the rooms a decent size. You get 2 bottles of complimentary water which is pretty nice of them. I don't see that often even for some pricier hotel options. I found the bed and pillows to be too soft for my liking but that's just my own personal preference. The rooms are a little old looking and the bathroom definitely needs an upgrade but overall, a clean and friendly environment. The concierge was extremely helpful and friendly. We arrived early and was able to get an upgrade to a higher floor for only $40CAD. (not per night mind you, it was for the whole time stayed so really an additional of just $10CAD per night. read more

Our room was super modern. Weird thing was that there was insulation sticking out from a hole behind the tv. Honestly wouldn't expect that from a Hyatt. What if there was a kid in that room? We're in for the weekend and when we showed up at 1, our room wasn't ready. We were told that we could downgrade from our king room to a queen room and get check in immediately. We went with it because A) we're easy going people and B) We didn't pay for the original king room so it didn't seem like a big deal. We got situated right away and I have some mixed feelings about the room. It's very modern, which was cool, but also very small (especially the bathroom) and at least one of the lights in the room was out. The room is nice, and the view from the 19th floor is wonderful, but for what people probably pay for these rooms I wouldn't have been thrilled on the "bang for your buck" front. I've stayed in a couple of hotels in Toronto now, both Hyatt's (Park and Regency), the Eaton Centre Marriott, and the Courtyard Marriott. This hotel (while overall nice, and I should note they have a great lobby) offered the worst room of the bunch. Next time I come back to Toronto, it won't be to the Regency. read more

Room is a bit tired (some fittings are well used / have chips in them); iron got increasingly colder each time I used it, bathroom was cramped. No replacement shower gel left - even though I'd clearly gone through more than half the bottle. On the plus side I got a good night of sleep despite what should have been a noisy street below - it was remarkably quiet. Bed v comfortable. Location is good. Staff at check-in were not particularly welcoming (although I appreciate I'd arrived early ... but still ... it doesn't cost anything to smile!). Lobby area air-con meant it was warmer inside than outside during the middle of summer which was just weird. Elevators dreadful in the morning - waited nearly 10 mins on 11th floor. Our room was available upon arrival, and we were quickly on our way to our room. The Room At first glance, the room was much smaller than I had imagined, but it was still enough for the two of us. The King bed was clean but we quickly found a problem with the heater in our room. You can see the heater and thermostat to the upper right of the desk. We called the front desk to call someone to come and fix the heater. It was pretty cold to leave the thermostat as it is for the night! We had initially thought that they may transfer us to another room instead, but a repairman was called and he arrived shortly after. I believe it took two tries to have it fixed. The repairman initially did his job and left, saying that it was fixed. We tried turning the heat up, but it was still pretty cold so we called again. It was fully fixed the second time, and we were able to have a warm room for the night. Overall, it would've been more appreciated if there was no problem to begin with of course, and I think it may have been a better approach if they had transfer us to another room instead because the repair took more time than we had anticipated. Sure, we probably could've left to enjoy our time and come back, but as it took two repairs, it ended up being more efficient for us to stay and check to see it if worked. The rest of the room was straight forward, furnished with the minimal necessities. They were all clean, though we didn't use much expect to hang our clothes. Onto the bathroom! You can't really tell from the photos how small the bathroom is! I was really disappointed at the size of our bathroom. If you read my post on One King West's bathrooms, you'd know that I was disappointed at the size of their bathrooms. But it was even smaller here! Having a rather spacious bathroom is rather important to me when I stay at a hotel, so it was a bummer to have such a small one. Granted, I'm sure the building is quite old; the hotel room itself seemed like it was recently renovated, and with the heater problem as well, I understood that the building was probably originally built that way so there wasn't much they could do. Oh well. Everything in the bathroom worked fine. I had the West view from the hotel. It wasn't much but it was great not having a high rise building right in front of my window, though that may change soon with all the high rise condos being built in the area! As for the housekeeping/room service, we only stayed at the hotel for one night so I cannot speak too much on housekeeping other than that our room was well cleaned upon arrival. We didn't order any room service so I can't speak much on that part either. Check Out The next morning, check out was just as easy as checking in. No extra fees except parking. The front desk greeted us with a friendly smile and asked us how our stay was. We were quickly on our way after returning our two room keys. Verdict Other than our heater problem in the beginning, the rest of our hotel stay was fine. Check In/Check Out was friendly and efficient, and many staff offered us help with our luggage. Though we didn't use any of the hotel amenities or restaurants, hopefully we can return soon. However, I hope we can get a bigger room next time as the one we stayed in was slightly cramped in my opinion. The Hyatt's fantastic location (no car needed) helps make up for its unpleasant early 90's exterior architecture, a design that certainly sets the building apart from the rest of Toronto's more sophisticated looking buildings. Friendly staff at the front desk also brighten the experience, especially Kishore who was sincere and earnest in ensuring a positive stay for us. Our CN Tower view room with two double beds was tiny and cramped, riddled with maintenance, housekeeping and design flaws. The beds were both concave, making it hard to sleep, and leaving us exhausted and frustrated by morning. The bathroom door was somewhat warped, requiring substantial effort to close it (lift and push). Two of the four bathroom lights were burnt out, a clever way to save energy, but a poor representation of Hyatt standards. The bedside table surface was smeared with a dried lotion like substance, and an old, moist towel was lying behind the bathroom door to greet us. Finally, the wall behind the bed has odd protrusions that may have looked cool years ago, but now simply prevent guests from sitting comfortably on the bed, resting against pillows propped agains the wall. Good luck finding a comfortable TV watching position! First thing in the morning the issues were reported to Kishore at the front desk. He showed authentic concern and did his best to find us a better maintained room. We were moved to a double queen city view room with great mattresses, pretty clean standards (just a couple hairs in the bathtub), a lot more space, and stayed three more nights in these much improved conditions, albeit the room still featured the funny wall protrusions that prevent any leaning against the wall while watching TV or reading. The lobby is large and welcoming, featuring a Starbucks and a hotel restaurant. Recommend skipping the in-hotel dining options though and Yelping local eateries instead. For coffee, breakfast and pastries, Strange Love Coffee (just 3 blocks away) is not to be missed, while Aanch for Indian is the way to go. Don't miss their butter chicken and mango lassi. For a return visit to Toronto, I would probably go for a newer hotel, but would be lucky to find staff members like Kishore to make it special. read more

I love this hotel. It's my go to every time I'm in Toronto (every two months). Staff is always friendly. My bed is wonderful and too comfortable to get out of most mornings. There's a nice little gift shop with reasonable prices to grab drinks, food, etc. I've ordered room service once. I ordered the Angus burger. Very pretty display and tasted really good. Hotel is very close to tourist things (4-5 blocks) although I've never done the tourist stuff. This will always be my go to. I don't understand the low reviews. My experience here was very mixed. At first it was awful because I wasn't getting any help. My room was freezing and the night staff refused to remedy the situation. I ended up with a cold and was miserable for the conference I had the next day. I hadn't slept. The managers got ahold of me the next day and did end up remedying the situation by moving me to a different room. I was happy to be warm but lost my amazing view of the CN tower. I guess one can't have everything when staying at the Hyatt Regency Toronto. The place was clean and well located but I am not sure it would stand out in my mind. read more

Where do I begin? I must say that this hotel did not meet my expectations. I expected a high standard from Hyatt Regency because this particular location was listed as a 4 star establishment. Upon arrival at 6:30 pm, we immediately went up to our room. When I walked in I was surprised at how small the room was. When I went into the bathroom to put my toiletries away, I stepped in a puddle of water. I investigated further and noticed that it was leaking from the base of the toilet. GROSS! When I called down to the front desk they said they would have some one come take a look and if they were unable to fix the issue they would move us to another room. My boyfriend and I went to have dinner and came back to a caulked toilet. It was a "quick fix" and unpleasant looking. I was also grossed out by the black mold on the walls of the shower where it met the tub. To top that off, the handle for the pocket door was not properly secured and it was very hard to close the door to the bathroom. The hotel staff agreed to give us a roll away bed for our friend at no extra cost because of the incident we had with the toilet. I thought that was reasonable. There were a total of 3 of us staying in the room and it was quite cramped. Also, the cleaning staff would only leave 2 towels and 2 wash cloths each day. My friend decided that he wanted to order internet in the room ($15 per 24 hours), I was not on board with this because the internet in the lobby was free. Alas, he charged it to the room. The WIFI ran at a snail's pace. None of us were able to watch a video on YouTube or browse any social media sites. Mind you, the lobby internet was speedy. I'm not sure if being on the 10th floor had something to do with it or not. On our last night we decided to enjoy a few drinks at the hotel bar. The bartender was very professional and knowledgeable. A bottle of beer was pretty pricey but, it was what I expected. The one thing that I did love was the location. I chose this hotel because it was only a few blocks away from the convention center. We were going to the Fan Expo. I was pleasantly surprised to find that so many restaurants and bars were right across the street. While we were packing up to go home, my friend noticed that there was black mold on the ceiling on the top of the window. I have included pictures of the condition of my room. I've stayed in some very fancy hotels in my past, including the Park Hyatt in Yorkville. You can imagine, then, my disappointment, when I was greeted so rudely by a Hyatt associate upon my arrival after a four-hour train ride. Ageism at its best. Next, she took my credit card to charge $655, when our reservation only totaled $505.11 CAD, saying it was an authorization charge. She also mentioned a $25/day fee for each additional person beyond 2. She then would not refer me to a manager. Naturally, I told her I was disappointed in her lack of customer service skills. I spoke with a manager who dealt with the problem quite well, however, I'm not so sure how satisfied I am overall. I think that next time I come to Toronto, I'll resort to trusted hotels like Fairmont Royal York, Harbour Castle, or the Park Hyatt. read more

We just stayed here during the last weekend in August, 2010. Reading the reviews, I was shocked to see that the elevators have been in renovation for several months. Because going into September, guess what? Three out of the four are working and it can take a bit to get a lift. The yays: The lady bartender downstairs is awesome. The front desk staff are good and helpful. The rooms are post-modern and clean. Awesome location. Cool view. On the last day, we saw a kitty in the window (see photo). The mehs: Confusing parking situation. You tell them that you're parking in their garage, great. But they should also tell you to pay no mind to the signs in the garage that say to pre-pay using the machine. We could have paid twice for parking. Thankfully, we checked. The room itself could have been designed better. The drawers for your clothes are tiny cubby holes and won't hold much. Neither of us used them, preferring instead to just keep clothes in our suitcases or in the closet. The bathroom counter is virtually non-existent, which is an issue if you have stuff. No tubs, either. Room 1606 has two lights out -- one above the left side of the bed and the other in the entry way. Sunlight still seeps in from the side of the curtain. HD TVs with no HD service, which happens in pretty much every hotel, ever. Why bother?? Overall, a nice place but would be better with a few details cleaned up. read more

Came here to attend an event in one of their ballrooms. This hotel is in the near of downtown. A Starbucks is located on their ground floor. The hotel looks small from the street view but when you go inside you see how spacious it actually is for a hotel downtown. There are tons of restaurants nearby. Plus a MEC, Detox Market & Soma chocolate, some of my fave shops. If the ballrooms are any indication then the hotel rooms will be just as nice. Good place for guests to stay if they want to be in the heart of downtown. You can't even hear the street noise once you get inside. read more

While traveling to Toronto for an overnight business trip, I selected this Hyatt Regency based on its proximity to my business activities. I have found that, in general, Hyatt offers nice properties. After I arrived at the hotel from the Toronto Pearson International Airport, I entered the lobby and saw a modern, contemporary atmosphere. That is not my preferred style as I always can't imagine how anyone is comfortable sitting in those modern art style chairs etc... They are incompatible with the human anatomy. So, this place would impress someone with contemporary tastes, which I can appreciate, and not criticize it for a simple difference in taste. Besides, I didn't plan to spend much time in the lobby. The front desk, a minimalistic non traditional structure, was staffed by very professional and pleasant employees. I had traveled together with the owner of the company I work for and we checked in together. My boss received her room keys and was checked in. I then presented my information and was happily told that I was selected as "guest of the day". This meant, I was told, that I received a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a two room executive suite. Who was I to argue? I happily accepted this upgrade. I took the elevator to the 15th floor and proceeded to my suite. The hallways were dark and punctuated with scuffs and wear marks on the wall and doors. I thought this would be a foreboding as to the condition of the room. After I entered the room ( OK, suite), I was happily pleased to note that the hallways did not reflect the state of of the suite. The suite offered two rooms: a living room with a wet bar, wide screen television, sofa, chairs and a large window. The separate bedroom offered a queen size bed with a wide screen TV. The bathroom was clean, well designed and very convenient. Overall, the room was very comfortable although, the atmosphere lacked a comforting or luxury sensation that would be aligned with the expensive price per night. The complimentary upgrade to a suite which I received was quite nice but, not for the reasons you might expect. A regular room is equally equipped minus the living room area, however, the real perk was the astounding view of downtown Toronto and the CN Tower. Otherwise, if I traveled at my own expense, I would try to reserve a standard room via a service like Priceline. I ordered room service because I did not have the time to leave the hotel for dinner due to my need to complete documents and a presentation for my meeting the next day. Ordering was easy, although I would note the prices were quite expensive. The food was delivered in a timely fashion and the service was attentive. The food itself was, in some instances, prepared well in advance and simply re-heated before serving.The food was overall disappointing and, I would have preferred the chance to walk a few blocks and find a restaurant serving better quality, fresher food at a reasonable price. I met with 3 of my colleagues early the next morning and had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Again, expensive, however, I received great service and a deliciously, freshly prepared breakfast of very flavorful coffee and oatmeal with fruit and walnuts. It was outstanding. Overall, I recommend this Hyatt with the knowledge of some of its shortcomings, expensive food, some interior decoration choices but, a great location that can't be beat. Also, I stayed during the cold of winter and could not enjoy a roof top pool etc... I would return but look for a better price per night through special offers or other web sites. read more
