The location of this hotel is fantastic. If you don't mind walking, the soccer stadium/football stadium/baseball stadium are all reasonable distance away. There is a bus (the 2X) from the airport that stops near this hotel. The bus ride is $1.50 if you have cash ($2 if you don't have exact change) or $3.50 for the online pass on their app. Either way, significantly cheaper than the $35 Uber ride which gets you to about the same place. I don't understand why Hyatt doesn't mention the bus as an option. Their email only mentions an expensive private car option. Seems like a missed opportunity to sell the hotel. The hotel itself was average. I've stayed at Hyatts in Philly, Chicago, and Pittsburgh this year and this has been the most disappointing. Mostly due to check in and how they ruined my day. As an Explorist, I requested early check in (which is not guaranteed but usually not a big deal for most Hyatts). Regular check in is at 4pm which is excessive as is. My room wasn't ready until 5pm. Due to a game that night, I wasn't able to check in until 11pm. If the room was at least available at 4pm, my experience would have better. I was there at 2pm and no one bothered to tell me there would be a delay. I've NEVER been delayed with a check in. Early check in requests have been denied which is fine but never delayed. If you would have communicated the situation better I would not have wasted so much time. I would have left my bag at 2pm and went on my day. Very disappointing. The room was ok. No issue with the room itself but calling it "deluxe" seems like false advertising when all you get is some shampoo and mouth wash. Dirty floors, ripped sheets, extremely loud and rude fellow guests, the smell of marijuana in the halls, and a night shift front desk staff member who refused to provide more than the absolute minimum customer service (would it really have hurt her to get a bottle opener from the bar to open the WATER bottles we bought FROM THE HOTEL MARKET?) - I found this hotel to be such a disappointment. One staff member, Dennis, was very pleasant and helpful. But I really wish that I had just paid for two rooms in another hotel, instead of going with this hotel because it was the only one downtown with two queen beds available on our dates. Upon arrival we paid for Valet parking. It was $30 for 24hours. The attendants were nice. We walked in the hotel and it was a bit cold. The lobby was nice. Architecturally appealing. The concierge who greeted us at the front desk were nice. Check in was smooth. The elevators were standard. The key to our room took a few swipes to open the door. Upon entry the room it was freezing. We turned the air up to warm up. Mind you, it's 90 degree weather outside. The room seemed smaller than normal I've stayed in other Hyatt Regency's - exact same room requested and got different accommodations. The closet was a decent size included extra blankets, ironing board, iron etc... But again, didn't compare to other stays. The bed was comfortable, King size, and the sheets appeared clean and white. The tv was a decent size. The fridge was not stocked and was warm- I stayed in another Hyatt King deluxe room and it was stocked... The view was lackluster. The coffeemaker was basic. Included tea, coffee, and 2 water bottles. No coffee cups just glass cups. The bathroom was small. It wasn't very appealing. It seemed to not match the room. The bathroom needs to be renovated. The tile was old and appeared worn. The toilet was very slow flushing. The shower had standing water when running. There were brown streaks on the sink- which were permanent. For the money paid I expected a more upscale bathroom. $158 and some change. The wifi was free- basic. We didn't check out the pool or the fitness center. The market and restaurant appeared to be nice but we did not eat there. I figure for what I paid I could find a similar King room at another hotel with better accommodations. It was just the worst experience I have ever had with a Hyatt brand. My friends have also had bad experiences and tried to warn me not to stay at this hotel ,but I didn't listen. read more

No issues..nope...nada...zilch. In town for a couple of ballgames. The hotel is conveniently located, a 15 minute walk to the GABP. The hotel is well staffed, employees were pleasant and professional. The day we got in we ate at their in house tavern, RRT. The meal was good, split a club sammich, with ball park snacks on the horizon. We ordered it as a split and yes ample fries came with both plates. The little things. Nice beer menu too, drink local. The room was nice, clean, and quiet. Perhaps I should review the adjacent tenants, I guess they determine "quiet". The bed was oh so comfy. The water was hot...they had a boiler issue, it didn't affect our stay. A micro wave, fridge and safe were in the room too. The lobby is large, and busy. Their is a store for odds and ends and the morning coffee. Damn that coffee is hot. read more

An overnight stay for a business traveler, or family or local: spot on! I was returning from Europe, connecting on Delta through Cincinnati (CVG), elected to have the Hyatt, here, as my layover. I think I picked well. Not at all disappointed! A very friendly and attentive staff at all times. No upgrade but I was indeed comfortable: a nice view of the city, a very comfortable bed, fellow travelers were on the same floor (good), a nice pool and jacuzzi for us to 'chill' and of course, soak. Not a totally updated property but still a welcome'd new friend after a long flight from Europe. My stay was at/about Final Four Weekend - glad I was back in the States. Quite a few b-ball guys were also in CVG - several from Virginia, several from North Carolina; hecka nice guys, as they say. read more

Stayed on a Friday night in November 2013. The renovations are entirely complete so as you read other reviews you can put that to rest. The hotel feels brand new as a result. The rooms are fresh and bright and the beds and linens first rate. We had a king river view which provided a great view of downtown and the river. Very happy with the hotel and value for money was excellent. We did not eat in the restaurant but we did have a cocktail late night in the bar ; a chocolate martini for her and a margarita for me. Not super happy with this hotel. The lobby was nice, complete with fruit waters and a helpful bellhop. Beyond that... ugh. Check in took forever as there was a huge line. Then we were told our rooms weren't ready and one of our group members had to substitute a different sized room than the one they asked for with no compensation. When we finally did make it up to our room the curtain had a suspicious stain on it that looked like blood. At least the beds were super comfortable. THE WORST PART: being woken up at 730am Sunday to the loud drilling next door as they seem to be doing construction. ON. A. SUNDAY. Hmmm... nothing to write home about but I'm going to do it anyway. This is a dated Hyatt property. Updates, even small ones, can add up to sizable differences. Take for example the old-school box TVs... Hyatt is a big-name player in the hotel industry and one would expect that they'd have flat screens by now. And the rough sheets. At least upgrade to a bare-minimum thread count... nothing crazy, I'm not a diva - but maybe 200? The room itself is clean, of average size and contains a desk, chair and dressers. The bathroom is really small but does come equipped with a powerful blow-dryer (always a key bonus in my book... us thick-tressed gals need all the wattage we can get!). Downstairs, there's a bar called Champs and the hotel actually connects to Saks Fifth Avenue and Tower Place Mall. There's also a fitness center and a heated pool. Overall, not too shabby of a deal if you book through Hotwire! So you won't be sitting in the lap of luxury, but the location makes it an ideal resting place for the weary business traveler. read more

The short story: An AOK hotel in Cincinnati with a killer downtown location. The longer story... Sometimes I like to gamble a bit with where I lay my head to rest...the lure of a good deal on Hotwire is sometimes too strong to fend off. A 4-star hotel that is well-located and a premium brand? Well, let's give it a whirl. Of course, this does means that I am unable to check the Yelp reviews before clicking that tempting little "bookit!" button on Hotwire. So it's a bit of a gamble. When "Hyatt Regency Cincinnati" ended up in my reservations folder, and I peeped the 2.5 star (GASP!) rating on Yelp, I thought for sure it would be a total downer. However, I'm here to declare...if you just need a spot to take a shower and sleep for the night, The Hyatt will do just fine. Perks *$69/night in Downtown Cincinnati for my group of travelers. (weekend!) *Friendly staff. *$22 valet parking (very easy/courteous/fast) *1 block to drugstores. (CVS and Walgreens) *Clean, large rooms. *Attached to Saks! *GREAT location near FountainSquare, access to highways, etc. Lacking *Decor is very dated. *Sheets are crunchy hard...though I was so tired, I did not notice. *When booking on Hotwire (or other third party engines) Passport points cannot be earned. *Onsite restaurants are fairly "meh" (sports bars, etc) *No coffee available in lobby *Coffee available in room is pretty yecky. So bottom line? It's an older building, fairly no frills...but by no means is it a Motel 6. It's on the lower end of the "Hyatt" standard, but a perfectly acceptable place to stay for the bingo rate of $69/night. I'd stay again. I'll figure out where to get coffee! read more

There are a few things I ask of a hotel: --Comfortable bed --Hot shower --Internet The Hyatt gave me, well, one of those things. The bed was comfy enough (though I developed a weird itchy rash on my back toward the second night--I'm not sure if it was from the sheets or the water...but it was something about the hotel room). The view was awesome and the room was standard. Unfortunately, that 19th floor view didn't correlate with hot water. It was weird--during the middle of the day I could take a hot shower, but at 5 a.m. when I had to get up for critical early morning meetings? No. I let the water run and run and run and it finally got up to lukewarm. Gee. Nothing like taking a lukewarm shower at 5 a.m. Same story late at night. No hot water for face-washings. And the internet. Sheesh. Basic connectivity is what a business traveler needs nowadays. I don't even expect it to be free--but I expect to be able to connect. I could see the wireless (provided by tmobile, I believe) but there was no way to connect. (I'm no tech-novice. The browser-connect method was impossible, and various reboots, restarts and reconnections were not doing anything but increasing my frustration levels.) My heat also didn't manage to reach temp, but I guess not all hotel rooms can pull off the tropical 80 degrees that I like. However, this, combined with the cold showers and the mystery rash, led to a rather uncomfortable stay. But at least the bed was nice! read more

So I found myself back at this hotel despite not wanting to. I had originally booked at the Cincinnatian but when I called to confirm my reservation and that I'd be bringing my dog, they alerted me that they no longer allow pets. That left me with a scramble to find a dog friendly hotel last minute. This time I stayed for a full week.... which led to the downgrade in stars. Upon checking in, the front desk tried to give me the same room as last time, just 2 floors up. When I learned it was the same layout I immediately asked for a new room as the last one was tiny and I didn't want to have to deal with it for a week. I was moved to a more central room and it was also small but not as tight as the last one. This isn't a historic building or anything so I'm not sure why rooms would have been made so small.... we aren't in New York or Chicago. Definitely still a tight fit if there are 2 people. I feel as though this hotel caters to business travelers/occupants that may spend most of their time outside the room/in meeting spaces. All the public space in this hotel is beautiful and well maintained... just not the most important part... the rooms. Although they are visually pleasing at first, there are so many things actually wrong. Let me list a few: 1. I was greeted by a urine stain on the top sheet of my bed. 2. A couple towels and washcloths had yellow stains. 3. The HVAC system in the room did not work correctly. It ran constantly and was never the temp I set it to. 4. There are not recycling bins in the rooms (this really drives me crazy!). 5. When I went to order room service, the menu in the room was obsolete. They no longer have any of it. The restaurant had to bring me a menu and even then it wasn't the full menu. 6. The shower curtain was missing a ring and didn't fit well in the shower. This may seem like a picky gripe, but it was the same thing in the last room. I don't get how room service misses this. It's just really amateur and this is a national chain. Get it together. 7. The parking is a LONG walk through the skyway and I constantly saw sketchy characters walking around and hanging out in the stairwell. I caught a man smoking up in the stairwell who I think actually worked for the parking garage. When I got to my car and settled in I saw him walking around looking in cars. Didn't make me feel too secure about leaving my car and belongings there. There are so many better options in Cincinnati. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless it's your only option. Make sure to check your bed and towels before you use them. You'll thank me. read more

Coming from the Louisville Hyatt i guess skewed my opinion on this location more so than if I had not just come from there. While the Louisville Hyatt is clean, fresh, modern styling on the inside, Cincinnati came off as being just a little sad. The furniture in the room was certainly in good condition, nothing wrong with it, but it seemed a little dated. The TV was small and an old tube style on a swivel, which was really surprising, but it worked fine enough. The view from our room was just a parking garage. The bathroom was smaller, and had terrible, terrible lighting. The lighting was very ambient, and more suited to a library or den where low, soft lighting is needed. I could not get a decent bit of light anywhere in the bathroom or bedroom in order to do makeup. The fitness room which is located on the fifth floor shares a space with the pool. The pool area is very nice and has an atrium style glass ceiling. However, the fitness room looks almost to be an afterthought where they just carved out a nook from the pool patio. Sort of stuck in the corner and very small, it only offered a bare minimum of machines, no weights, and very little floor space to stretch out. However, the location was superb and offered us a chance to do a quick walkthrough of downtown and find a great place for dinner. I would be interested to see how other hotels in the area match up against the Hyatt before I say for certain I would like staying here again. read more

The rooms are updated with a really comfortable bed and the service is great. If the Internet was a little bit faster that would make the experience even better! My coworkers were more kind than me with their 3 star reviews. I just can't say "A-OK." Reasons why: *crunchy sheets. Crunchy as in more paper than fabric lik. *stiff bed. Stiff as in I would have preferred to sleep on a flat panel tv and take the warmth from the screen. *Hole in the wall. Yeah. Hole. (Not a punched hole, but a hole into the bowels of Hyatt that isn't necessarily an air duct -- no sign of missing vent crate.) A trap door like hole that at any moment a Hyatt elf could've crawled out of. The experience would've been brilliant if said elf crawled out of hole and served up either new sheets or room service. But, the hole just gaped there in the hallway and really sort of scared me. Having a hole in the room is just a bizarre thing to experience and it speaks to this Hyatt's need to be updated to the standards of the Hilton across the street. Now... having said all that... the price was right at around $70 on a weekend. That's really cheap. So I really only needed the room to crash in, so if you're concert going with a group and you need a cheap place to crash and enjoy being reminded of your hostel days with that hole... this is going to be your place. Clearly I'm a pampered man and would prefer to spend the extra $30 for the updated beds at Hilton Netherland. read more

I guess the best way to describe the Hyatt Regency Cincinnati is Blah!!! I always thought that they Hyatt name meant Luxury and convenience, but to be honest, there was nothing special about this hotel. The room was nice and clean, the lobby was strange but practical and the valet's and front desk workers were nice but it seemed like something was missing. Maybe the Raddison's and Holiday Inn's of the world are catching up the the primo names in the Industry. The next time we travel, I would be happy to stay at a Hyatt if the price is right, but there is nothing at the Hyatt's that I stayed at that would make me go out of my way to book with them. My wife and I stayed here for a marriage conference hosted at the hotel and were very pleased with our stay. When we arrived the valet opened our doors and volunteered to help us unload our luggage. We declined but he went for a luggage cart and had one ready for us very promptly. He asked if we wanted to valet park and suggested public parking available just across the street in a garage. He explained that if we need "in and out" access with our car that the valet would be the better deal but that if we'd not need our car at all during the stay that it would be about half the cost to self-park in the public garage which is what we decided to do. We told them that's what we'd do and he let us leave our car in the valet area for about 15 minutes while we checked in and took our bags to the room. Checking in was very quick and easy. I commented to the clerk checking us in that the only rooms available for the group rate that was a part of the conference were rooms with two beds and that we only would need one bed. I told her that if it would help the hotel to move us to a room with only one bed that would be fine with us as long as it didn't cost us any more. She said "let me check something" and then offered us a free upgrade to a "King...." I don't remember what she called it but it was a room on the top floor (22nd) of the hotel on the river side which has the best view she said and she was right! It was a great view and a great room. It had a fridge, coffee maker, and safe as well as a desk and all the things you'd expect in a nicer hotel. Getting into the room was no issue. The elevators were fast and large enough not to feel crowded. The bellhop gentleman was very friendly and helped us get into our room and unpacked the luggage cart and took it back down for us. My only real disappointment was the water pressure in the shower but that probably has more to do with being on such a high floor. It was good enough not to be an issue just less than I'd prefer but it did have an adjustable nozzel and the "jet" setting worked great for what I needed. Also, the window was a little dirty on the inside when we arrived and we left a hand-written note asking the housekeeper to clean it the next day. She did and left us a hand-written response to let us know she cleaned it with an apology. The apology was not necessary but I really appreciated the note. We planned to eat breakfast at the hotel because the menu looked great and the breakfast buffet was very appealing and we thought fairly reasonably priced at $17/person. We never actually did eat there but I did make two trips there to get a one gallon jug I have filled up with water both nights we were there. They were very kind both nights and filled it for me no problem. The hotel also has a little market/coffee shop where I did buy a sandwich for lunch one day. I thought the sandwich was reasonably priced at $6 and the young man that checked me out was very kind and offered me a sample of a cake pop which was very good! The last couple of things I'll add are that I called the operator a couple of times and each time was greeted by name when the lady answered and we had to check out of our room about 30 minutes late and they didn't give us any trouble over that or charge us extra which was much appreciated. read more

We stayed at Hyatt during our trip to Cincinnati using my frequent flyer miles. My experience might be different if I had paid for the room, however, we received a one-night stay, free valet parking, and breakfast for two at the restaurant located on the second floor. After seeing the majority of the reviews for this hotel, I was a bit scared of what we were walking into. Our room (on the 6th floor) wasn't bad at all. The bed was comfortable, we had a good view, and everything was clean. That morning we had breakfast and I was expecting the usual small breakfast I receive at most hotels. This place had a fairly large buffet with a couple types of eggs, sausage, bacon, grits, hash browns, a variety of breads and cereals, and fruit. You could also get pancakes, waffles, and french toast by request as well. We got the bill and it looks like if you were to just walk in the buffet is around $13/person. I was impressed. My only complaint was when we were checking out. We were on the 6th floor of a 22 floor building, and they were having issues with the elevators. After waiting about 10 minutes for an elevator we finally decided to take the stairs. I was a bit aggravated about that fact since we had several bags but overall a good stay. read more

We had a newly "renovated" room. Disappointing as it looked cheap and not to the same standards of other Hyatt Regency hotels. The room looked more like a 2 star hotel than a major business one. No lobby to speak of as the renovations were well underway. Also, the swimming pool was closed; the fitness center was moved to a small suite and was poorly equipped. Restaurants were closed for renovations. We paid $120 per night plus $26 parking. Too much for what was offered. The staff was helpful, professional and polite. Not impressed at all, check in was okay but the clerk ignored my question three times then finally answered me at the end of the process. For some reason the elevators are always a 10 minute wait and room service is over a hour...maybe they are just really busy but come on you know when your going to need more staff for crying crying out loud your in the hospitality business! Spend a few more dollars and go to another hotel in this price range. The double room we are in needs some TLC. In the bathroom, grout in the shower pretty dirty, the AC/heater makes a huge bang every 15 minutes so it makes it kinda hard to sleep. The bed made my back hurt (not sure why some beds do that to me). Will not return to this hotel to many other choices in the area. Well just checked out and to top it off valet lost our car! The wait was 40 minutes for valet, the excuse again was they are busy (yikes what happens when they are really busy) So I went to get my car instead of just waiting surprise its lost!!!! I've stayed in this hotel twice a year for the last 9 years. Our last stay, we were greeted with 2 inch cockroaches in our bathroom. After an argument with the front desk about how we should just kill them ourselves, Maintenance finally came to get rid of them for us. We felt uncomfortable leaving our belongings in the room-- in fear of taking them home with us-- so we drug our luggage to the parking garage after midnight. The next morning, the manager, ZACK, promised a refund for our trouble. Since we booked the room through Orbitz, we had to call them, and they would call the hotel and verify the refund. After 6 months of back and forth, ZACK lied to us and Orbitz is rejecting our refund!!! Absolutely ridiculous and will never return. read more

Great place to stay overnight in the downtown Cincinnati area. Within walking distance of many restaurants and bars along with being just a few blocks away from Great American Ballpark and Paul Brown Stadium. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, my wife and I were pleased with the accommodations. Also, the complimentary breakfast the next morning was a delicious buffet with a great food selection. This hotel is a little pricey, but well worth it. I will definitely stay here again during my next visit to see a late night Reds game. read more

When we checked into this Hyatt, I was immediately fearful of the elevators. I'm not a big elevator person to begin with, and have somewhat of an irrational fear of either getting stuck or worse, the thing crashing. Well, the next day when I went to the elevator lobby, there was a repairman working on one of the elevators. Apparently, a woman had gotten stuck between floors - with the door OPEN. They had to call a service company to come get her out! Agh!! This is a really dirty hotel. We actually spoke to the manager, who informed us that the property had been in foreclosure, and that it was sold to new owners. They are supposedly working on making improvements to the hotel. We left our room around noon for lunch, and got back at 3pm to find that our room had not been cleaned. Housekeeping had no real excuse, other than when they had walked by earlier in the day, we had the Privacy sign out. The lobby bar and and restaurant smells like a Fry-Daddy. The second level bar/sungarden is closed, and if you walk over there it smells like a moldy pool. Speaking of mold, if you have any allergies whatsoever, this is not the hotel for you. I could barely breathe when I woke up in the middle of the night, I was so congested. There are plenty of other hotel options in the city - I would never go back to this hotel. read more

I typically stay at the Hilton next door but stayed here this time. Solid hotel. Bigger rooms and newer than the Hilton. Only had two concerns. There are door tags that say "do not disturb" in purple and one that states "service now" in gray. I put out the service now and got a letter under my door that service wasn't provided because of the note in the door. The other thing was my room had a clogged bathroom sink that water went down a bit slowly. Neither was a big deal. Rooms were nice and service was great. read more

Not a great experience. Check-in process was pretty friendly and efficient. I reserved a suite and my room was ready early for check-in at 10:30 am. Unfortunately it was downhill from there. The suite can best be described as tired. The furniture was a little beat up and the room appeared to be poorly maintained. The countertop in the bathroom was broken and the sink was cracked. The handle on the glass shower door was loose and the rotting seal around the glass door allowed water to leak all over the floor. The room was poorly lit and there were no power outlets available at the desk. I'm not sure how business travelers are supposed to plug in a laptop or charger for a phone or other electronics with no power outlets near the desk. The sofa in the room is in desperate need of cushions on the back of the couch. The barstools look as though they need to be replaced and have seen better days. There was a power strip on top of the bar area that was pretty unsightly and didn't seem safe with a multitude of appliances plugged in. I called in-room dining for lunch, only to have my call bounced all over the hotel multiple times. I was finally connected to the hotel restaurant who informed me that they do not offer room service at lunch. Hard to believe a Hyatt Regency has no lunch service for room service. Not a great experience for business travelers who often need to work in their rooms during the day. Overall, the experience was not what I expected from a Hyatt Regency. I will not stay here again and will explore other options. read more

We arrived at 6:30pm to find that our room was not ready. The excuse given was that there wasn't sufficient housekeeping staff to clean the rooms due to an unusually high percentage of late checkouts. At about 7:30pm we were called and offered a room with two full beds instead of the single king bed we'd reserved. We declined. At 9pm we received our room and found it to be clean except for an obviously used Q-tip on the bathroom floor and a yellow rag left by housekeeping on the bathroom counter. The amenities were fine but the TV in our room appeared to have been purchased sometime in the late 90's. When we reported these issues we were given a sales pitch of their rewards program and promised a call by a manager that has yet to come. The coup de grace came when we got home and found that we were charged twice for our stay; once by Priceline though whom we booked the stay and again by Hyatt. read more

We stayed with the Hyatt for 2 nights-Friday 11/13 and Saturday 11/14. Positives: Valet and bellhop were great-very friendly. Our room was very clean-we stayed in 2201. I sat at the bar with Rose-sweetest bartender ever-on Saturday morning and watched the OSU game. The Hyatt has an awesome bar and the restaurant food is great! The chicken soup is smokey and just amazing. When checking out we called down and they pulled the car up-no waiting around at all. Very organized. Downsides: Very tiny and very cramped room. The bathroom was awkward for 1 person to use. The ice machine wasn't working so we had to call for ice a few times and the vending machine was not working either. read more

Great location but the room is extremely small and not as luxury as you think. Forget about the luxury, it is just economical. We are passport platinum member. We don't get any special recognition. Prefer Marriott totally. We get recognized and treated better. I went into the shower this morning and was shocked the fungus on the shower wall. Disgusting. I will never stay in this Hyatt ever again. read more

Courteous service and definitely the hotel with the comfiest rooms and beds of all the hotels I have stayed at over the years in downtown Cincinnati. Housekeeping may come in later in the afternoon instead of in the morning, but other than that (which is not really much of an issue), this place has the Hyatt high standards I have experienced elsewhere. There is a skywalk to the Duke Energy Center. Walgreens, CVS, and Fountain Square a hop away. read more

Wow! This hotel was gorgeous and the staff was so friendly and helpful! The bedroom was a corner room with a super comfortable bed and the room was beautifully designed. The hotel looks to be new or recently renovated, I would 100% stay here again when in Cincinnati. read more
