The Space Needle

The rooms are nice and spacious and the complementary breakfast is decent. The hotel is conveniently located next to drugstore in case you've forgotten anything and within walking distance of a number of restaurants.

Inside Room 316. Space Needle view.

My wife and I were very happy with this hotel, Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown. I give it a solid four Yelp stars. We stayed one night, a Wednesday, in a "King Bed (with Sofa Bed)" room for $248.75. The nightly rate was $210.80 before $33.20 occupancy tax and a $4.85 "Seattle tourism" surcharge. I booked and prepaid online directly through Hyatt's website, only three days in advance. If I recall correctly, a "King Bed Space Needle View (with Sofa Bed)" room was about $10-20 extra per night. I didn't think a Space Needle view was worth an extra $10-20, so I booked a standard King room. We got Room 316. It turned out to have a Space Needle view, so we lucked out and got the view without the extra cost. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. There were plenty of power outlets for our devices, the Wi-Fi was fast enough (not that we spent much time on it), the AC worked well, and the ice machine wasn't far away. It was pretty much everything we wanted in a basic hotel room. The floor plan was also to our liking. My wife likes to spend her downtime on the sofa and this room had a sizable living room area with a clean, comfy sofa, coffee table, and end tables. Photo: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hyatt-place-seattle-downtown-seattle?select=gIgnAvyCDbY8PxHrjGm1ug&userid=j14WgRoU_-2ZE1aw1dXrJg We had a good view of the Space Needle from our third-floor room. The hotel has nine floors. It opened in 2010 and was renovated in 2018. Our room and the building overall had a good design and looked modern enough. Breakfast is served 6:30am to 9:30am, daily. It was included with our stay, but we slept in and missed it. We did get hot coffee in the lobby and brought it back to our room. It satisfied us. On my reservation confirmation email, the checkout time was listed as 11:00am. When we checked in, we asked for a later checkout time. Hyatt employee Lydia was able to give us a late checkout at 2:00pm, which we appreciated. Lydia was fantastic. She was super friendly and helpful. The customer service was five stars and she was the main reason why. The lady working the front desk the next day when we checked out was friendly and efficient too. She was very busy helping other customers, both on the phone and in person, and she still checked us out with a smile. Before she helped us, I saw her helping another party, who had just checked out, move their luggage temporarily into a storage room. Both online and in-person check-in and checkout were a breeze. Hyatt was very communicative via email. I chose this hotel because of its terrific location. It's central to Seattle Downtown, Lower Queen Anne (Uptown), and South Lake Union. It's only a six-minute walk to Seattle Center, which has the Space Needle, museums, theaters, and arenas (e.g., Climate Pledge Arena where the WNBA's Seattle Storm and NHL's Seattle Kraken play).

Look at that view. If you want a view of the Needle, just ask for room 920 or adjacent. I'm sure the rooms below it are just as nice. Got two rooms (another for adult kids) on the top floor which is great for the view. Rooms were clean and well maintained. No drawer space and thin space for closet but as a business hotel like Hyatt Places are set up for, this is the highest rating I would dare give a Hyatt Place. Came in June and what most will notice is that this hotel serves as a pre-cruise hotel full of people spending a couple pre-cruise days before getting on a ship to Alaska. What that means for you if not on a cruise is potentially early morning noise, long lines at the elevator, and a sea of humanity in the lobby during breakfast....but wait...that view...lol! Easily walkable to Belltown, the Public Market, and the Space Needle, the hotel is centrally located and has secure underground parking for those renting a car. It is also in a very safe area with easy access to the highway. The morning breakfasts have something for everyone and can be quite crowded during cruise season, but it is extremely clean and well maintained. Our room had a king-size bed with a seating area for 4, a wet bar with coffeemaker and a desk working area. Private toilet and shower tub behind closed door. Sink and mirror located outside the shower area.

This is a great option in downtown Seattle! Super close to the needle and a lot of great food! It was maybe a 20 minute walk to the pike place market as well. The room was spacious, comfy and clean. The continental breakfast was ok. Good, not great, but did the job! And they offer 24/7 coffee which is always a perk. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We booked our stay using Hyatt points. The location is very handy - near downtown, the space needle, etc. Pros - location, free breakfast (big spread), breakfast staff (very friendly), fitness room (used to be the pool - it's big!), Cons - front desk staff weren't friendly, I asked to have my room cleaned but it wasn't done, cost of parking ($55 including tax per night!), and an overflowing sewer pump in the basement parking garage - ew!

Overall 3.5 stars. But their Asst. Mgr - Harrington is 5 stars all the way. My 1st night there, I was disturbed b/c of the lighting and furniture (TOO DIM). He went out of his way to buy me a camping lamp at Walgreens to brighten up my room! It was seriously the best part of my stay at the Hyatt Place. They give you an orientation flyer with nearby restaurants. They are right across from Walgreens. They have 24/7 ice water, hot water & tea, and coffee. They also provide bags of chips in case you get the muchies. I was told they are due for a major renovation beginning in November (much needed update to lobby, eating areas, and the rooms). - Everything was dimly lit in my room (as mentioned above), especially annoying was that the bathroom had only 1 light kind of near toilet, there needs to be a canned light in the shower too. - The room is poorly designed. Their pocket closet door was really annoying, you had to dig deep to get to your stuff. - The HVAC / Heating worked well, and the service to get you extra sheets, comforter, toiletries, was on point - The chair for the desk was bad for my back, hard to study, not ergonomic Just pls be aware that they don't do beds on Weekends. So I was misled to believe housekeeping would tidy up. But they got it all resolved on Monday, no problem. Their pool is permanently closed. No jacuzzi either. Their business center needs better lighting and furniture. Breakfast was hit and miss. They weren't prepared by 6:30am. Sometimes the eggs come out way later than other items (challenging when on a tight schedule). There were only whole apples at the first few days of my stay. Then they started to served bagged fruit (imagine a XXL fruit salad) that had decent pineapples and cantaloupe here and there. They have too many sweet options. Pls some sugar free or no sugar options would be great for bkfast. Each room has a mini fridge. Overall my stay was decent. I was just disappointed b/c I had just stayed in a well designed, well furnished, and abundant breakfast buffet at Hyatt Place in Las Vegas. I was expecting the same. Oh well, live and learn.

Stayed here 1 night. It was clean, comfortable and within walking disrance of the arena and many decent bars and eateries. The staff were friendly to me and helped me get my bearings when needed. The bed was perhaps the most comfortable I'd ever had in a hotel.

Gorgeous new place on the block!!…read more Stunning new event space right in south lake union/ downtown with sweeping lake union views. Views alone were worth a trip or 4!! Came for the opening of this shiny new spot yesterday. A gorgeous 3,000 square foot event space that was completely remodeled: with in house catering, vendors, event planners, photo booths, musician! And the food. It was like going to a super fun wedding minus the formality of it. The owner was there as well: super passionate and shared the story of how she bought this space sight unseen: took a long process in turning this into a gorgeous space that it is now. It was super cool! And the food!! They allow outside catering too but the in-house catering: Kaspar catering : baos topped with micro greens and mint. Steamed to serve! Poke rolls :delicious! Panna cotta : in a cup! Lisa Dupar catering: this one was fantastic as I've had a chance to taste their food in the past at a wedding. The gorgeous cupcakes, macarons, molasses cookies and stunning cake. All were so pretty! Mark ryan wine! I mean, what's not to love as it's one of the wineries I frequent in Woodinville wine country. My pup baci's favorite too. Luxe Photo Booth: this one was so fun! The 360 Photo Booth!! I've seen them in Time Squares recently as well as at a valentines event. But this one was so much more fun as I didn't have to wait in line or fight the crowd for it. The person that was running it was super friendly and helpful too. The jazz musician was pretty rad too. And they had valet!! Butler Valet: All the friendly guys in uniform waiting for you as you arrived during rush hour in downtown: pretty darn cool. All events should be this cool. I'm only going to events with valet from now on! Ok thanks. Overall, this was such a fun place.I came to check out the space: left with all the food and fun.The space, the team, the design, the music!! And that Photo Booth: all are essential part of throwing an epic event. All events should be this fun!! I guess they will be if you throw them here: weddings, birthdays, corporate events, sweet 16th. I wouldn't mind coming here for a photoshoot: hello contents!!Or just a fun anything event.Did I mention the views?? Ahh the possibilities!!!

It was a simple process to make a reservation on their website, and I was even able to make a note that I was celebrating my birthday. Aerlume is right next to Pike's Place, so finding parking may be a challenge but don't let that discourage you from trying it out. Service was amazing and the food was really good too. While waiting for my appetizer, the chef brought me a steak sashimi amuse bouche that was absolutely delicious!! My mouth is watering thinking about it. I kept it light with the citrus marinated beets as my appetizer. Although I don't usually eat beets, I thought this dish was so good! For my main course, I got the C.A.B. filet mignon. The steak was cooked perfectly and everything tasted so good together. I was amazed by the how thick the asparagus was! I did inhale my food quite fast so I passed on dessert in favor of hot tea, but their dessert selection also sounded yum. I regret not getting the carrot cake. I had a great experience dining here and would love to eat outside in the future! Also, if you're wondering, I don't believe there's a dress code. Their website doesn't make note of one and I was ok to dine in my jeans and Gazelles.

We had the chance to photograph a summer wedding there, and I was absolutely blown away by the space, the staff, and the overall experience. The couple we worked with had gotten engaged in Paris and wanted their wedding to reflect that romantic, European flair. The Ruins, with its opulent, maximalist style and stunning hand-painted ballroom, was the perfect fit. Every room felt like stepping into a different storybook, and the attention to detail in the decor made for the most magical, photo-ready moments. Their guests were wow'd at every turn--it was truly an experience, not just an event. From a vendor perspective, the staff couldn't have been better. Friendly, helpful, and incredibly accommodating. The on-site coordinator, Ruby, is a total gem! Even when a few minor hiccups popped up (as they always do), she handled everything with grace and efficiency, keeping the day running smoothly and stress-free for everyone involved. If you're a couple looking for a unique, visually rich venue that feels intimate, whimsical, and timeless all at once--The Ruins is it. He made some useful recommendations as to where I should have my tables and accommodated all of my guests upon entry. During the day of my event, David, who was one of the VIP hosts was so generous to connect with me and allowed me to be first to enter the main floor upon opening. David and my servers, Natalie and Blossom were so respectful and kind - they truly helped make my special celebration a memorable one. I'm so happy to see the successes and growth of Vue since they've opened in 2018. Their security team was also very kind! Vue brings to life an artistic concept for nightlife that is inclusive of all communities. Their 4 different rooms and main floor creates space for every kind of guest. I appreciated their various table packages as it is inclusive of minimums and gratuity with tax later being added on at the end of the night. They make the booking experience very easy.
