Great downtown location. The hotel is walking distance to diverse restaurant offerings. and shops to browse. It is also home to the Cheech Marin Museum. The hotel is super clean and maintained with a pool, and a wonderful staff. It also offers a decent free breakfast with a variety of self serve options. Our room had a full sofa bed, coffee maker, safe, and a refrigerator. Housekeeping staff needs to be aware of bath towels as we had none in our room but we had hand towels. Our sink was draining real slow creating a mess after it drained. My 2 concerns can be corrected with minor undertakings but nevertheless these issues should have been addressed by the hotel. You must pay a nightly fee for parking, but it is a well secured parking area worth every cent. The rooms are comfy and well furnished. I highly recommend this particular affordable Hyatt brand. read more

When we arrived, around 30 minutes passed check in time, we were told our room was not ready, and that it would be another 40 minutes. It turned out to be another hour. When we reached our room, we noticed how poorly noise proofed it was, whenever a truck or loud car drove by, the room became particularly loud, which did not help with sleeping. The room itself was also somewhat dated. When we went to bed, I was looking forward to sleeping in, but unfortunately this did not happen. The fan in the room turned on at roughly 5:20am, and it was probably around 65 decibels. Needless to say, I was awoken. The breakfast selection was also not great, with not many kid friendly options, and cold coffee. The only reason this hotel did not receive 1 star, is all the staff we interacted with were very polite, and made us feel welcome, even if the customer service was not the best. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area, and I will not be returning. read more

This is one of the nicest hired places we have ever stayed at breakfast was top-notch bacon was extra crispy and well played well stocked and always replenished they even have a food area where you can grab and go and a bar area where you can order drinks yes right at the front desk area it was very neat parking is open not gated so it's park at your own risk especially in this part of town I wish there was a parking structure or gated parking or something a little bit more secure but that's maybe out of their control this property is very nice it's very new lots of areas to sit and did I mention the breakfast was amazing and the front desk check in the people there were very friendly and welcoming read more

The parking is unbelievable. The attendant pushes paying with cash but does not have any way to give you a receipt. If you pay with a credit card you get charged an additional fee of around 14% by the app company, which is not publicized anywhere. It just shows up on your charge. Pretty sneaky. The hotel itself is pretty nice but our experience with the parking over shadowed everything else. read more

Wonderful staff and crew but... We stayed here last night and there was a Cheerleader workshop/ Competition going on. During late hours in the evening and early in the AM you could hear young girls screaming and yelling outside of our room. I called the front desk and let them know I have a young child who was sleeping at 11 PM at night and also at 630 AM only to be woken up by these screaming Cheerleading girls. We did call the front and complain about the noise but they had no concern for other's at the hotel. I believe they could have handled this better, but we paid good money to stay at this hotel and I am now wishing we would have stayed at the Marriott instead. You pay for a hotel to rest and not disturb other Patrons. I do also see this as a parenting issue but I wasn't the only person at the hotel experiencing this frustration read more

This was a great place to stay for 1 night while attending an event in town. The staff was super customer service oriented. The parking lot is conveniently located behind the hotel, and the access to the luggage carts was good. The whole place was clean and well maintained. We were told by the front desk that they recently remodeled the lobby and some rooms. It was nice. They have a small bar next to the front desk, and it doubles as a coffee shop with Starbucks products. There is a refrigerated case with sandwiches, meals, canned beverages, and other items that you can purchase from the front desk as well. There is 1 microwave in the dining room for after hours usage. Rooms have 1 mini fridge and no microwave. The decor is updated and the hard floors is a plus. I enjoyed the setup of our room because it had a sofa, large TV, coffee table, full length mirror for dressing up, and a separate business desk for working. The bathroom has large pump containers of: body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. The towels are clean, plush, and great. I would stay here again for an event in the area, maybe only 1-2 nights. They also have complimentary breakfast. They serve tortillas, salsa, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and toast, muffins, pancakes, bagels, yogurt, berry compote, and boiled eggs. There is apple and orange juice available. There are pump stations of coffee and hot water for tea. The tortillas were not fresh but everything else was decent. The Hyatt Place Riverside/Downtown offered a pleasant stay. Priced reasonably with large renovated rooms and a breakfast buffet, I recommend it. Their team is friendly and dedicated. I liked being able to text for assistance and they responded promptly when I requested business services. The little bar and beverage and snack options supported by the front desk staff were convenient. Not spectacularly cool or anything. But more hotel should have such offerings. Good art in the rooms too. That's rare! I think the Hyatt Place was a value at the price. Our business group stayed there and there were zero complaints. The WiFi worked well. Because of the price, we could afford a fancy group dinner over at the Mission Inn. That place is fancier if you have big money. But this is exactly what our group needed. read more

The HP Riverside is centrally located right in downtown Riverside. It is a block from the convention center and also a block from the Riverside food lab. Also its just two blocks the Mission Inn historical district. So if you stay at the HPR you are easy walking distance to everything. On check in we were helped by Taron who was friendly, welcoming and cheerful. He found us a very nice room. The room was spotlessly clean. It is outstanding staff like Taron that convince me of the value of Hyatt Globalist status. The HPR has a good breakfast. I like that they had tortillas and guacamole in addition to the typical HP breakfast. HPR also has better coffee than most HPs. Overall highly recommend. read more

We stayed at this location many times due to my kid went to UCR. The service has been consistently great! It was a bit dated but after the renovation the rooms are lovely. Location is in downtown so there are plenty of food in walkable distance. The only downside is that Parking is a bit tight and sometimes when they let the public park there for a fee, it's harder for hotel guests to get parking. Although there is overflow across the street, it would be better if they kept the lot to the guests. read more

I wanted to bring attention to an issue that has yet to be resolved from a booking I recently had this month from Aug 6-8. The room was booked through my company as was there were multiple rooms booked for a company event on the 7th. Despite being out into a handicap accessible room my stay was pleasant and enjoyed the recommended places to eat nearby. I left the room in excellent condition with trash bagged up and had be forgotten an unopened drink in the mini fridge. I enjoyed the room and even decided to book another stay next week and was checking my credit card statement and saw a charge from the Hyatt. I called the hotel directly and inquired with David what the charge was for and he stated it was due to damage and that his supervisor was gone for the day and that I should call back the next morning to get better details. I called this morning and spoke with David again along with the supervisor Michelle and she stated it was due to a stain on the mattress and as a result my credit card was charged for the deep cleaning. She said she would confirm the details and reach back out to me today and I left my personal cell phone number. She did not reach out despite saying she would by today. I did not spill anything on either of the two beds which were in the room as all eating and drinking was done at the coffee table. I am disappointed in the lack of service and communication for the charge of something that I didn't even do. Does the hotel staff have any evidence of the damage such as pictures or videos? Am I supposed to bring hotel staff into the room at checkout to ensure I won't get charged for future visits if I even decide to go back? Stay away or deal with the stress and anxiety of taking pictures/videos of the condition of your room so you can chargeback for their false claims. read more

Pet owners beware. They failed to disclose that there would be a $100 pet fee charged for a 1 night stay until it was time to check out. Even when requesting a pet friendly room, at the time of making my reservation, confirming it the day before or when checking in with my dog at my side, they never mentioned this rediculas fee. They said it was because all rooms where dogs stayed needed to be hypoallergenically cleaned because some guests are allergic. I challenged it at the time of checkout when the fee was presented even asking how many additional hours it took to clean a room after a one-night dog stay the manager who was very mean said "it's our policy there's nothing you can do about it." read more

Hyatt Place Downtown has the ideal location for someone who's new to Riverside to quickly sample the sights and "eats" of the City. Its service is impeccable - and I have to give a shout out to David, at the front desk who helped check me in that evening, after a tiring day at work! He cheerily gave me two bottles of water, free-of-charge as his way of personally welcoming me to the hotel! I will never forget his simple gesture of kindness to a weary traveler. Breakfast is complimentary and satisfying, but could do with a little more variety in terms of the hot dishes (it was just scrambled eggs, bacon, and French Toast when I stayed there). Self-parking at $29 per night for guests, is a bit expensive for the area. Hyatt Place deserves a solid 5 stars nonetheless. Nicely done! read more

This hotel is functional. No more. No less. There are cards in the room that say, "we know our rooms have seen better days." It's brown. The shower works. Any more than one night and I might have complained. Front desk staff: the guy who checked us in was very nice. The one that I got a parking pass from later that night, not so much. Name brand cereal and ele tric car charging available. Direct TV is horrid. No streaming. It's whatever. read more

Customer service was great. Greeted so warmly at check-in and at breakfast. Parking is $29/night, but the lot gets full easily I dont know where overflow is, but i think it's a bit of a walk away. Breakfast buffet has meat, eggs, a starch like waffle sticks, and the typical foods and also has guac, cheese, and mixed fruit salad. One of my favorite breakfasts offered at a hotel. Rooms are updated, but do not include a microwave or smart tv. Tv has direct tv/cable. Wish the hotel would let us book a double queen bed with points. Saturday morning farmers market behind the hotel is a nice plus. read more

I stayed here recently and had a pretty frustrating experience. When I checked in, the fire alarm in my room was beeping nonstop because the battery was dying. I told staff around 4:30 PM and was told it would be fixed by the time I got back from dinner. When I returned later that evening, the alarm was still going, so I called the front desk. The person on the phone could actually hear the beeping through the call and said he understood how annoying it was. I asked if I could switch rooms since maintenance wasn't going to be there for several hours and we had just driven in from San Francisco and wanted to knock out, but I was told the hotel was completely sold out. He also said a manager would be notified and that compensation would be taken care of. Maintenance didn't end up arriving until around 11 PM--almost seven hours after I first reported it--so the whole evening was pretty much a wash. The follow-up afterward was honestly just as disappointing. The next morning, I went to the front desk to check on the compensation I was told would be handled, and they said they'd loop in a manager, but I never heard back. That evening, I asked again in person and got the same response with no follow-through. On checkout day, I checked one more time and still got nothing. The day after I left, I even called the hotel, and the front desk told me a manager would reach out to me. It's now been days and I still haven't heard from anyone. I get that maintenance issues happen, but the lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability from both staff and management was really disappointing. This whole experience was far below what I expect from Hyatt, and I won't be staying at this property again. read more

We stayed here for a night when we were going to see the Festival of Lights. It's an easy walk to the Mission Inn and Main Street without paying $500/night, so we were very happy. Check in was a breeze and staff was very friendly. It was pretty busy in the area, but luckily we were able to find parking in the lot. We weren't aware of the parking fee in advance, but maybe it's just during the event. The room was clean--other than an old stain on one of the sheets--and it's a decent size. I saw some people mention that it was dated or worn, but I've seen way worse, so I thought it was fine. The main draw for us was the proximity to the Festival of Lights. It was an easy walk to see all the festivities and light displays. We were also able to request a later check out, so we were able to enjoy their breakfast buffet in the morning and walk around a bit before hitting the road. If you want to be close to this area, but don't want to pay absorbent prices, I'd recommend the Hyatt Place. read more

Very ordinary place, not up to the Hyatt name. The room itself was wonderful, very big, but there was no maid service the next day. I had to call at dinner time just to get fresh towels and coffee stuff. Also, I really needed early check-in, which good hotels are happy to provide. I called in my request twice prior to arriving, explaining my situation. Housekeeping at hotels starts early and by 8:30 or 9 there are clean rooms available. The unhelpful front desk did not seem to realize this and the room wasn't ready until 3:10 p.m. This property could come up to a four or five star rating if they would fix the front desk and housekeeping departments. read more

Offered a slightly different room type than what I'd reserved to accommodate my requests (top floor away from elevator and ice/soda machines). Comfortable and sizable room with a nice view of the mountains. Only down side was that my room was a little musty smelling, but nothing terrible. Just like it hadn't been aired out for a while. I mentioned it upon checkout and the front desk team thanked me for letting them know. Would certainly stay here again if I find myself needing to be in downtown Riverside. read more

Crappy lumpy bed, crappy soft pillows, gaps in the front door, lazy housekeepers, weak air conditioner that is as loud as a forklift, intermittently working refrigerator that is gasping for more refrigerant, noisy central pool; all next to Riverside's alcoholics' avenue! Added bonus: You'll be greeted at parking by the most passive aggressive woman they could find. On my last morning there was a false fire alarm at around 6AM. Then there was an earthquake. Seriously. It's date stamped. I know how to read multiple signals. The earthquake was NOT the worst part of my stay. The room was. You get a bird bath, it takes forever to shower because the water flow sprinkles, no microwave in the room breakfast bar is very good. I'm currently staying here and because there's a street fair near by, they opened their parking lot and are charging $60 so filling up the already small pkg lot with outsiders. Leave hotel guests to go to an overflow lot! my husband is handicap and expected to park our car across the street. I feel like I can't even leave the property because there won't be parking available for us. Not ok! Especially with a 6 night room ticket price and being charged for parking on top of the room stay. This not ok for paying guest to this hotel. The parking attendant lied and said he was about to stop and from desk says it's city law! Who's making that $60??? City or hotel. I'm not a dumb kid, lies to your paying guests is wrong on every level. If tonight wasn't last night here dealing with this, I would have left less s this situation is so disappointing. Good place clean rooms breakfast was decent for all you can eat. Limited bar they didn't have hard liquor.... you had to buy the premade drinks. They didn't have a full bar. Like most Hyatt places have . Food was limited. They didn't have as much that was on the menu, but the staff is super nice about it. overall the services is great. Was able to get them checked in early, take their overnight bag to their room so they could leave the wedding venue and enjoy the rest of their evening walking around Downtown Riverside with their friends and not worry about driving. Freshly renovated and very personable staff. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The only issue i have is tbe hidden parking fee of 25 per night. This is not the LA convention center. Even the riverside convention center doesnt charge that much for the day. read more
