I'm bummed that my long detailed previous review of this place is not available anymore after they changed the name from America's Best Value Inn. But it's probably good that they did that because other locations of America's Best were pretty icky the last I noticed. THIS LOCATION was ALWAYS by far the BEST in their lineup. And it's still GREAT. It's different. The rooms are smaller but it's still always been one of my favorite hotels. The BEDS ARE AWESOME and the BEDDING is AWESOME. They double sheet with a comforter in the middle. These beds are simple luxury and the pillows are great & the towels are soft. The only downside is none of the rooms have bathtubs if that's important. Yup they have waffles and a little more for breakfast but don't come for the breakfast, come for the BEDS! Location wise it's an easy walk to the Mission Inn so you can stay here and enjoy all the fun at the Mission Inn. Take the TOURS there. The whole downtown area has really improved over the years. Lots of nice looking restaurants etc and this hotel is an easy walk to it all. Do NOT miss Tio's Tacos and try to visit when it's daylight. If you find this review helpful please vote! read more

It was a great place for a few nights. The hotel room itself was neat, clean and organized with a big TV. The front desk lady was extremely kind and helpful whenever we needed it! The breakfast options are small but good. Just don't put your key card next to something magnetic. We had to go back to the front desk and get ours activated again! read more

Raincross Hotel was clean, comfortable, well run, staff was friendly, and it's in a downtown neighborhood with a dozen good restaurants within easy walking distance. A grocery store is across the street. Note however, the property is distinctly NOT fancy. The layout is like a traditional motel. Doors open to an outdoor walkway. Rooms are small and somewhat plain. But everything in our room was new or well maintained. There was an iron and iron board, a coffee machine, a hair dryer, and a half-size refrigerator (larger than a mini-fridge). The bed was comfortable. The bedding was excellent. Raincross is ideal for anyone who doesn't need an ornate lobby for meetings or an extravagant hotel restaurant. If you want opulence, look elsewhere. We just needed a comfortable and convenient place to stay while we did stuff in downtown Riverside, so Raincross was a perfect choice for us. read more

Raincross hotel is a place I stay at often given I have family that lives in the area and rather would not stay with them when I come to town lol. They are reasonably priced vs a lot of the hotels in downtown riverside , the weekend staff is always friendly and helpful and treat complaints with care and concern the owners are great as well! But the bald white dude that works over night during the week is rude and needs customer service training . Other than him I recommend staying here . read more

Location was fantastic it is 4 tenth of a mile from The mission Inn the location was quite and clean No elevator if you stay on floor two. The staff was friendly free parking free WiFi. So why did I take away a star The website Sade a free breakfast and they did not have it the first person said machines not working the second said that they have note done breakfast since Covid Either way I was leaving early for a lecture and ended up having to try to find a place that has only a Starbucks and a doughnut shop. This is the worst hotel ever!!!!! There is a cockroach in the tub at Room 217 and more cockroach at the vending machine they're like 180 to 190 ant crawling into our room and they gave us a moldy cheese on breakfast and then they decide to shut down our room and move us to 107 but then when the next room it got even worser because they're like the trashcan was grumpy. The bed was filled with a lot of pee. read more

I stayed here for two nights in July 2023. From the outside, the hotel looks like a pretty basic motel. However, there are some very nice modern upgrades inside. There is crown molding, curved wall corners, recessed lighting, and plantation shutters. The bed was very comfortable. There is a good sized mini fridge, which was a plus. But there was no microwave, which would have been nice since the Hotel did not provide breakfast. Overall, it was a very nice hotel, and I would stay again. read more

Stayed here for two nights during Veteran's Day weekend. Rooms are impressively small. Heating and cooling are provided by a wall mounted unit. The bathroom is tiny....a "low rider" toilet, small corner fiberglass shower with "motel 6" grade fixtures. The bathroom "accessories" were likely the cheapest available...tiny tube of shampoo, small bars of soap, and 60 grit toilet paper. On a positive note, the room was clean and the bed and bedding was extremely comfortable. The bed has a pillow top mattress and was topped by very nice sheets and a weighty comforter. Adjustable shutters covered the windows. The 42" flatscreen had "spectrum" (?) service, which provided an antiquated channel selection system that seemed obstructive for the user. The in room refrigerator kept my drinks very cold, a nice change from many other hotel refrigerators which seem to barely chill items. This is an old motel likely built in the 1950's. There is nothing charming about it. Ownership focuses on keeping lodging customer pricing down. Although the exterior of the hotel and grounds are clean, they are as "f'ugly" as can be imagined. The rooms are tiny and featureless, and the ice machine looked like a military surplus item. The swimming pool looked clean and sparkling. There are no extra perks here, just a clean, compact, no frills place to lay your head down at night. It is not a hotel to "hang out" in your room other than for napping or sleeping. It is close to downtown, which allows guests to walk to the Mission Inn, the nearby shops and outdoor mall, the Cheech Marin Museum, and other attractions. Despite advertising that breakfast is included on a few lodging websites, it was not. A few reviewers critically attributed that failing to "the pandemic", which they described as a sham. One employee told me that it was because "the machines were broken". I would add that the two employees who staffed the front office (which was only accessible by a "tellers" window that forced customers to slide cc's and paperwork through a "moat" beneath the security window) were polite and welcoming. One young woman named "Ila" was extremely helpful and customer service oriented. The business owner(s) quite obviously are focused on providing clean minimalist lodging that will maximize their profits. Most everything provided guests (other than the beds and bedding) screamed "cheap". If I was to visit Riverside again. I might consider staying here again, especially if if I just needed a place to sleep for a reasonable fee. read more

This is a nice, no frills motel. I called them directly to book because I wanted a quiet room. The woman on the phone said she'd give me a room facing away from the main street, but when I arrived, my room faced the main street. However, with the fan/AC running all night I didnt hear street noise. The room overall was extremly clean except for a fake painted fingernail found under the bedskirt! There is a fridge in the room but note it doesn't have a freezer section. The shutters do let in some light. If they added curtains over the shutters it would be perfect to darken the room. Breakfast was fine: good selection. No eggs or pancakes but cereals, sugary yogart, juices, toaster/bread/bagels. If you are seeing a show at the Fox Performing Arts Center, stay here. It is a 5 min walk. If you are counting pennies, get tacos or dinner plate for very cheap across the street at the Mexican market. Much cheaper than the 2 Mexican restaurants that are on either side of the hotel. read more

The rooms are clean and nice but the staff one in particular named Alex is so disrespectful.I checked out the room and received a call saying there was smoking in the room and the room smelled like weed.I was advised there was no smoking in the room I should smoke on balcony or in car which I did so when I was called I was shocked to hear that I was being accused of smoking in the room when they have cameras and can easily be looked at then I was told an inspector was coming out and I asked to be there when they came and was told he's not coming so I was lied to and accused of something I did not do I wonder was it because I'm black? I was very dissatisfied with them I even came back up there to speak face to face with Alex and they said he was not there I came right back to get the run around read more
