The entire hotel is lit up so beautifully, making it even more stunning at night. My favorite part of the hotel was the pool with the beautiful views and perfect water temperature. I also really enjoyed having a drink in the presidential lounge (so many presidents have stayed in that lounge)! There are several restaurants inside the hotel to choose from so you won't be left hungry! Best part was the staff. Front desk & restaurant staff were so friendly & welcoming. I'd love to return for another night here.

She worked the early evening shift, young heavy set Hispanic girl, who had the nastiest attitude. She got an attitude when I told the lady checking me in that the room should already be paid for. She said something in Spanish to the girl checking me in and checked the computer, as if I was lying, so was just nasty. The day we checked out, I had an issue with the machine to open the gate to leave, she came out with an attitude scanned her badge thing to open the gate and said "it's right here" which she was referring to were I would scan my room key to open the gate. Had to tell her we checked out and the machine wasn't working, all she said was "oh ". If you are that unhappy in your life or hate your job, please do us a favor and move on and stay away from customers service. Bathroom could use a better cleaning, sink had yucky stuff on the inside of the sink, and the shower edges needed a scrub, looked a bit slimy. The bed spread what appeared to be dry blood. Did have it replaced and staff tried to say it was nail polish, I know the difference. I did fail by not taking pictures.

When we reached our room, we noticed how poorly noise proofed it was, whenever a truck or loud car drove by, the room became particularly loud, which did not help with sleeping. The room itself was also somewhat dated. When we went to bed, I was looking forward to sleeping in, but unfortunately this did not happen. The fan in the room turned on at roughly 5:20am, and it was probably around 65 decibels. Needless to say, I was awoken. The breakfast selection was also not great, with not many kid friendly options, and cold coffee. The only reason this hotel did not receive 1 star, is all the staff we interacted with were very polite, and made us feel welcome, even if the customer service was not the best. Overall, I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you are in the area, and I will not be returning.

But it's probably good that they did that because other locations of America's Best were pretty icky the last I noticed. THIS LOCATION was ALWAYS by far the BEST in their lineup. And it's still GREAT. It's different. The rooms are smaller but it's still always been one of my favorite hotels. The BEDS ARE AWESOME and the BEDDING is AWESOME. They double sheet with a comforter in the middle. These beds are simple luxury and the pillows are great & the towels are soft. The only downside is none of the rooms have bathtubs if that's important. Yup they have waffles and a little more for breakfast but don't come for the breakfast, come for the BEDS! Location wise it's an easy walk to the Mission Inn so you can stay here and enjoy all the fun at the Mission Inn. Take the TOURS there. The whole downtown area has really improved over the years. The lobby has cute, welcoming décor that feels especially fitting for a hotel near campus. The location is excellent, with easy access to UCR, plenty of parking, and lots of food options nearby. The on-site food was average, but it was convenient to have available. Unfortunately, we experienced several issues during our stay. Construction was going on throughout the day and was extremely loud. Our toilet also flooded the bathroom, although the staff responded quickly and fixed it. The ice machine on our floor wasn't working for most of our visit, and we struggled with the room temperature--it was either too stuffy or freezing. Although we had quite a few issues, I think this hotel has a lot of potential. Hopefully, once the construction is finished and the other issues are addressed, it will be a much better experience. We'll probably come back and give it another try.

The girl at the front desk was super nice and friendly and checked us in very quickly. She offered us water and snacks. The room was very nice too. We had a queen bed with a tv in the room, coffee machine and fridge. No smell or anything in the room. Here were the problems however. The bed was lumpy along with the pillows. I woke up the following morning with back pain. They had told us breakfast was included so we went downstairs and again were disappointed. There were scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, cereal and fruit. Juice and coffee as well. The only good thing was probably the coffee. The eggs tasted like they were out of a carton and watered down. So my advice would be skip the breakfast and go somewhere else, which we later did.

The…read morehotel only has one washer and one dryer for the entire property, and as you can see, the dryer was completely broken front panel off, clearly out of service. What made it worse wasn't just the inconvenience, but the response from staff. When I brought it up, there was no urgency, no apology, and no effort to provide a solution or alternative. For a hotel that caters to travelers who often rely on laundry during longer stays, this is a pretty basic amenity to neglect. Not to mention it's COIN OPERATED. Marriott has gone WAY down hill. Hilton would NEVER LOL. If you're planning to stay here for more than a night or two, don't count on being able to do laundry. Between the lack of functional equipment and the indifferent staff response, it's just not reliable.

Then an older man came out to give me my key and loudly said my room number. There was only one other lady there but you never know who is listening. I did not like that but as the room was the closest to the lobby available I did not request a swap. The room is very outdated and desperately in need of basic maintenance. The remote for the TV did not work and the room is very simply lit even with all the lights on. The outlets are a HAZARD. I could not charge any of my devices in the room as the outlets are very loose and even coming off the wall. The prongs just slide out. Then on my last night, I switched on the light that is also the fan for the restroom and it started making a jarring, metallic sound. I genuinely was worried it would start smoking. It was past midnight and decided I would not be switching it on after taking a video. I had to go to work, so when I checked out I asked for the managers card but was informed he did not have one and asked if I would like to wait for him. I couldn't wait as I had work but I would not recommend staying here for more than one night.

The room is filthy, there's hair in the tub that definitely looks like it needs a good bleach scrubbing too. The floor is tore up and also dirty. The bed is okay, not super comfortable but still probably the cleanest thing in this room. We do have a window, and outside is a broken down wall with a ton on trash and filth outside. The curtains have cigarette burns and a possible blood stain. The door to the bathroom doesn't latch and looks like it was busted into. And the couch is broken and at a slant. Also roach infestation! The room is probably the best part of this place. Outside is tons of homeless and druggies. I watched one vomit in front of reception and the poor cleaning lady had to chase him away with a mop and clean it up. Also, the reception is a window that a movie theater or fast food restaurant would have. You don't go inside. Sketchy. However the lady who helped me check in was very nice and the staff I have met so far has been rather helpful and friendly. Can't say the same for the people staying here. The people in the room next to us loudly fight and have a dog that barks loudly. Only reason I am giving 2 stars is because friendly staff and the free coffee is decent. But don't stay here if you have a choice.
