What a difference between same brand pharmacies! The pharmacy at the Hy-Vee in Florence is excellent. The one on 90th and Center doesn't even come close. For one thing, every employee was masked. At the one on 90th and Center, the only two people wearing masks appeared to be taking patients to a little room for probable immunizations. At least four others were were working in the pharmacy and interacting with patients without masks. The Florence pharmacy had plexiglass barriers up to limit air/droplet contamination. So this is two ways to protect patients and employees. You would think the pharmacy at 90th and Center would at least have plexiglass barriers, but they did not. The person speaking to me actually leaned towards me to make a point. It seems like patient welfare is not high on the priority list here. Additionally, when I called there for clarification about my meds, either no one answered or the recorded message said someone would get back to me but no one did. That's why I had to go there in person to straighten out a problem they had made with my medications. At the Florence location, an elderly gentleman who is apparently 94 years old, is known by his name when he comes in. Now that is customer service and exemplifies the great attitude at the Hy-Vee Pharmacy in Florence. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. This is one of the most expensive pharmacy in the area. Had it not been because my husband was already out of his prescription I would have had it transferred to Bakers down the street. I ended up paying much more. They don't blink an eye or try to save the consumers money. Most of the time I go ahead and use good RX and even with them their price is higher. Their attitude leaves a lot to be desired from as well. They don't give you heads up. I came to pick up a prescription and they said 600 dollars! Never said, let's call doctor to see if there's a lower cost option. We ended up calling doctor and he ordered directly from other pharmacy for us and we paid 99.00. read more

This is not a full fledged grocery store, but it is nice to have in the Florence area. I have used the pharmacy numerous times without issue, they have been friendly and helpful. The 'grocery' section of the store has your basic selections (though more 'store' brand items than usual) and while not a full fledged grocery store, they cover all the basics. They do however carry a good selection of wine and in my opinion, especially for Florence, a great selection of beer. The staff is very friendly. It would be great if it was a full fledged super market, as it is much cleaner and nicer than the other offerings nearby. read more

Have tried to give drugstore benefit of a doubt for last two years but the service here leaves a lot to be desired of. We had a colonoscopy scheduled a couple of years ago and they just couldn't get the prescription ready. Came by to pick up and they claimed they didn't have. I had facility call it back in, called the drugstore to verify it had been received and next day they claimed they wouldn't have it delivered until the actual day of procedure. Four days later not until I became upset did they tell me they would have it ready in an half hour! Another time same thing with my moms prescription. They claimed it was coming next day but when I complained it suddenly appeared. On another occasion I was picking up my prescriptions and wanted to use the GoodRx coupon. The lady checking us out got upset because she would have to redo the order. On top of that many customers are allowed to use the same register to pay for groceries and the cashier and customer sit there and chat while others wait! I have found out how much better Bakers pharmacy is just down the street. They fill prescription on the same day! Never have to wait and they have no problem with the GoodRx coupons read more

This review is only for their Wine and Spirits department, well, the beer selection of that as it is... I actually was surprised at the selection they did have, coming here after seeing Shelby's review. If I really needed some good beers I could probably make up a 6 pack, or find something decent here, props to Hy-Vee... yet not up to other Hy-Vee selections in town, but again props to Hy-Vee for building here! read more

Growing up north of town, Florence Drug was the neighborhood pharmacy you went to. That's just how it was. When Corporate America came knocking, and replaced the pharmacy that stood on 30th and state for as long as many of us could remember, we were skeptical. I'm glad that there really was no need. the Hy-Vee itself is small, carrying only the basics in grocery. There are Hy-Vee liquor stores like the one attached that carry a broader range of products in town. And having to drive a couple block up 30th to get to the Shell station to use your fuel points isn't the most convenient. Thing is though, it's the staff that make this place. I've had long conversations with the off duty OPD officer that moonlights in the liquor department. The staff in the pharmacy remember me when I come in to pick something up. We joke about the addictive properties of Dot's pretzels, and how they're going to need to see some ID to sell me more than 2 bags. Once, on a slow night about 20 minutes before closing, the lady behind the counter pulled me aside. She wanted to thank me for the previous time I had been in, which was weeks prior, when I was patient and understanding of the longer than usual wait time. They were very busy, and if I remember, right, short staffed. She wanted me to know that they appreciated that, and it didn't go unnoticed by the other customers either. After I'd left that day, a gentleman who had previously been blustery and short came to the counter to pay for his medications, hat in hand. He thanked them for their work, and told them he appreciated them. Now, the pharmacy employee didn't have to tell me any of this. The world would have gone on turning. I'd have still kept getting my medications there. But she took the time to tell me she remembered me, I mattered, made a difference in her day, and that she wanted me to know she appreciated it. That's human. That's personal. That's the North Omaha I love, and the reason I moved back. This store honors the mom and pop pharmacy it replaced, and has become a part of the Florence community. I love having Hyvee in the Florence neighborhood. It's not a full grocery store but it's nice to be able to pick up a few things.
