Instacart is a joke, hyvee should do away with otherwise it's a huge liability, I know I'm not the only one fed up. Had to call the store before because they gave me $5 expired milk. Today the shopper was messaging me back to back, I didn't get a chance to respond to replacement items and I only ordered two drinks so what does it mean "sorry we only had two avail." Classic case of you want it done right, you have to do it yourself, just annoying and irritating, supposed to be a convenience and just ends up being a bigger hassle. read more

Your normal salads. Pretty good lunch portions. My only suggestion would be to serve them on a plate rather than a bowl. The bowl had items falling out while you stuck your fork in. Serves was very efficient. read more

Really good location right off of 25th and E Euclid ave. It needs a bit of a good deep cleaning, but overall a decent store. Meat department/Butcher shop was great, and made sure we knew of the specials. The butcher shop associates were very friendly. Staff was kinda friendly, not overly like some of the other Hy-Vee's. Customer service lady was a bit unfriendly, and the checker was pre-occupied with other things. So not up to the service I'm used to with Hy-Vee. read more

I love this store. Friendly staff, great produce quality, quick service. The quality of the fruit here is vastly superior to that of other food stores in Des Moines. I don't know why it's consistently this way, but it keeps me coming back. When it comes to meats, Fareway stores still carry the torch. While Hy-Vee isn't that far behind, Fareway manages to have almost unbeatable service and quality. Overall, though, Hy-Vee has some of the lowest prices (and constant GREAT clearance deals) and best employees you'll find at a central Iowa grocery store. read more

I feel like I can normally count on Hyvee Chinese, especially Euclid. It's usually great but today I went and all the food was hours old and the lo mein noodles were crunchy and dried out. The wontons tasted very old. I am extremely disappointed when i normally receive good service from this Hyvee. The girl that took my order didn't mix up the food before she gave it to me so you could see I was getting the food that was old. I couldn't even eat it. and the egg rolls taste like cigarettes. read more

While no store is perfect, this one is pretty darn good. Even when they are very busy, somehow I find my groceries, and then end up in a line that is maybe 3 people deep. But the checkers do a good job, and my wait is never excessively long. The checker will ask if I found everything all right. some of the stockers will be polite and smile. they really seem to try at this store, and for that I give them two thumbs up. I have been a lifelong customer of HY VEE on East Euclid. I still remember walking in the back door on the store located across the street and smelling the donuts being made right in the window of the Cafe. It used to be "Helpful Smile In Every Aisle" However Hy-Vee as changed.... Gone is the local grocery store with friendly staff and outstanding customer service. Gone is the Helpful Smile In Every Aisle. Gone is genuine care and concern for helping customers and it has been replaced with corporate greed. I was in the store the last week in March 2018. I was looking for some water that was on sale. The shelf was empty and the store director Mike Kueny was on the phone at the end of the aisle. So I approached him to ask if there was anymore of this water available. He paged a coke representative to the aisle. I waited 15 mins and noone came to help me. So I went up to check out. I was asked if I found everything today. I said NO i asked your store director for help and I waited 15 min and noone showed up. She said sorry and there was nothing she could do because he is the boss and I can't really tell my boss what to do. I said no problem and I vowed to never return. Unfortunately I went back last 4/4/2018 to buy some groceries for my best friends family due to a death in the family. I went to buy a Hormel Cure 81 ham. I went to the meat department to ask if there was anymore hams in the store because there was none on the shelves. The hourly employee in the meat department didn't seem to know where to look and was more interested in filling meat orders for people at the counter than helping me. So I was continuing my shopping when I came across Larry Zahm. I asked him if you had anymore Cure 81 Hams or any ham period? He said let me go check. I again waited 15 minutes at the entrance to the back room next to the meat department. No One ever showed up. So I proceeded to the front of the store to leave and purchase my groceries elsewhere. As I am leaving Larry Zahm was standing in the front of the store. I approached him and he just looked at me. I said I waited 15 minutes for you by the warehouse. He said "Oh yeah we don't have any!" No apology or anything! I asked to get a phone number to the corporate office and he said why? I said cause I need to let someone know how you are treating your customers. Making me feel as if I was a burden on his job he started saying all kinds of excuses like well your not the only customer here, I also have employees to handle and other situations that arise. Hy-Vee will not see one more dime from me or my family! No One I mean no one should be treated like that especially after you address the situation to the manager on duty. I will make sure I share my experience with everyone I meet. It's time this cooperation starts respecting why they are in business! You can see I spent my money at Fareway!!! read more

This Hy-Vee is just as great as the other ones in the state. I am usually buying my groceries from a Hy-Vee if I'm not close to a Walmart. Even after hours you can stop by here and grab their premade food and just heat it up. Hy-Vee is very community oriented and has their store be accommodating to everyone. Will never set foot in the East Euclid Hy Vee ever again. I get groceries as the cab came and I get falsely accused of theft. Not only that but I wasn't given my money back. I have to go through the humiliation of taken upstairs and the police called. Thanks to the young man for getting the receipt to prove my innocence and making me loose my cab. Now I know to keep any Hy Vee receipts so I don't get wrongly accused of theft again. read more

I have shopped at this HyVee for many years. I won't be going back again. The store has gotten dirty, the produce questionable at best, the prices are just shy of criminal. I have come to actually hate this store. The bakery needs a heavy cleaning too. I'm taking my business to Fareway in Pleasant Hill - a bit further from home, however the store is very clean, their prices are very reasonable - especially the meat counter, produce is clean as well. HyVee you need all new management at your Euclid store - and please please quit being so high on your prices. Ridiculous! read more

I do love getting my munchies from here and I do love the doughnuts!!! They sometimes run specials when your in the store and that is an added delight!!!! My favorite cashier of all time is Jarrel I think thats how his name is spelled! He is deaf, and I get a warm an happy feeling when he is cashiering!!! If you're shopping in the store, everything is great but if you use online ordering beware. After picking up my online order we drove home only to find two sodas busted opened in its box, ok no big deal but i went to cook the package of pork chops n they were rotten, stunk! Had to throw them away. Ok again I was patient but i went to use the buns we bought and they are moldy! I purchased my groceries on June 11th, the buns expired on the 13th! Oranges were moldy after 1 day and had to throw them away. Don't you think the employees would take a little more care rather than giving customers expired or soon expired food? No more online shopping from Hy-Vee! My advice, shop in store never use aisle online. read more

So sad on the current state of Hy-vee here on the east side for as long as I can remember HyVee is always had guarantee that if the item did not match what was on the Shelf to what was rung at the register the item was free. today there is a difference of 4.00 (charged 19.99 instead of 15.99) plus the promised 20 cents perks wasn't on there. The on duty front area Manager said all she could do was change to sale price, not honor old hy-vee guarantees. With the numerous expired Foods I've been finding and meat department sandwiches Dairy here at the East Euclid Hy-Vee I think I'm going to have to start going to Southeast 14th or Pleasant Hill especially since they refused to get a Eastside Hy-Vee gas when a prime spot opened up at the interstate were quick trip was. This was never a store I went to while Dahls was here. Now I am a loyal customer. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. I love the guys at the meat counter. They will get you exactly what you want and keep working with you until you have it. The bakery is great as well as the deli and Chinese. If you don't see what you want from the Chinese selections they will make it for you (within reason ). The only complaint is not enough sacker/baggers. They tend to open new lanes rather than add someone to sack so things can move faster. Overall a nice friendly place to shop. read more

I would not spend my money here as this store takes advantage of its customers by the prices they charge. I am very ashamed that this store operates the way that they do. When Dahl's closed, this was the only grocery store around here and HyVee knew that and when you need groceries, you will pay whatever is being charged because where else are you going to go for food? Have you ever taken a look at their prices? An aluminum pan of cornbread they wanted $4.99 and for brownies $6.99. Wow! That is really ripping their customers off. HyVee needs to be investigated for their prices. I have stopped shopping at HyVee and only came in for stamps which I do not anymore either. I can go to Walgreens for stamps. There are only a couple of employees who are friendly and who I have known for years but the rest are very unfriendly. The salad bar needs to be moved away from a door that opens to a room that is by the recycling center and you can smell the stink and that stink makes you want to throw up. I would not eat from the salad bar knowing that germs from this stink are flying around. The prices that they charge for their hot and cold foods are outrageous. When you buy anything and ask for a specific amount like a pound or half pound, they never give you what you ask for, why would I pay for more than what I ask for. I do understand that weight is hard to be precise with but they can ask you if going over by a little bit is ok. I am not paying more than a few cents but these people go over by almost two dollars. The employees get angry when you point out that you asked for a specific amount and not what they slopped in a container or a plastic bag that exceeds what you want. I have many times refused the items and walked away. When I asked for a book of stamps, the lady said ten stamps. These people really need to listen and start by cleaning their ears so they hear you. The are tons of employees running around the store but when you need help with something they do not even hear you as they keep on doing what they are doing or just walk on. Very sad. There is no helpful smile in every aisle. There are employees who do not even know where some items are and need to ask other employees. And many do not know if they sell what you are asking for. HyVee is great at pushing their products especially at the checkout. If someone says no thanks once, do not ask me again. I will not donate to a local pantry as there many who that are well off and abuse the system and go to food pantries and pretend they need assistance and they get so much but those who really need the assistance get cheated and get very little compared to those gov't and state assistance abusers. HyVee is a very unwelcoming store and they prove that every single day. The employees are here just for a paycheck, they really do not care about you as customer and you can tell that. I am glad that I do not shop here anymore as this store makes me mad at what I have seen over the years. I am not interested in contributing to making HyVee even more rich than they already are. HyVee needs to remember that the customers bring the money and our money makes it possible for them to make huge dollar amount donations to charities. HyVee needs to stop saying these donations come from them as it is the customers money that makes these donations possible. If you get coupons in mail, do not bother using them as the items are usually sold out and they will give you a raincheck so you come back and spend some more money in there store while getting that coupon item. Nice trick! The items advertised in their ads or coupons need to be available until the last day of the sale or coupon. If you run out, you need to order more so there is plenty available until that time. Chinese food is just ok. The prices for the portions are too much. If they open up at 11 am, then all the food needs to be out and be ready to serve and not that you have to wait for it. The kitchen food is nothing special but they charge like it is. I am not giving $10 out for a scoop of this and that and a slice of something or a dried out chicken leg that does not have any meat on it. They keep taking away many customer favorite side dishes and replacing them with cheaper items. Who is going to pay up to seven dollars a pound for something that comes out of can or a salad you can make yourself? Not me. Shame on them for this. read more
