Mack Heating & Cooling installed our system in 2016 and we have always had great service until recently. I paid for the Yearly Service Agreement in 2023. A technician visited on 02/07/2023 and did everything except he was "unable to run heat mode at this time." It was noted on the invoice the technician "Will need to stop back by to verify refrigerant levels and initiate defrost mode" they never did! Honestly I forget all about until I received a call from MACK, I wanted to check my records so I let it go to voice mail. A week later (03/29/2024) Mack called again asking if I wanted to renew the yearly service agreement and when I pointed out that they never returned to complete the previous service call all she said was "That's on us". She made no mention of sending a tech out, only asking if I wanted to renew the yearly service agreement. She repeated "That's on us" several times but never tried to resolve the issue. Invoice Number 13140-1 Edited to reply to response ... Yes you did call and leave voice mail messages. They were to see if I wanted to renew the yearly service agreement. No one ever called to schedule the return visit to "verify refrigerant levels and initiate defrost mode" ... and you still haven't completed the service for which I already paid you to do! We tried to call and left 3 voice mails after the 2nd pm visit in 2023. We always strive to give the best service to our customers.

Midstate's follow up and service after the install is poor though. And the quality of the install itself was average. Midstate provides fair value overall considering the local competition. Just do not expect proactive service or any extra effort beyond the basic. Would be nice to receive reminders for annual maintenance. Would be nice to have someone call to schedule six month maintenance prepaid in service agreement. Just know its on you to track and make contact with them or risk the warranty on your equipment not being honored.

He sent his son Josh and co-worker Steve. They came immediately after finishing the job they were on (after regular business hours). They immediately diagnosed the problem and provided a reasonable estimate for parts and labor. While Steve cleaned and prepped the AC unit, Josh went to get the part (compressor). After getting bids from three companies, I went with Carolina Conditions. They were the lowest cost ($4,500 under my highest bid) and could do it in the most timely manner. The install crew, lead by CJ Van Etten arrived on time and got right to work. I did tell CJ how I wanted a neat appearing installation. Of course during the day I had numerous questions, and each one was answered with easy to understand replies. I was very impressed with their attention to details during the install, while always being aware of my property and plants surrounding the generator site. I have never reviewed any other company but I feel I must warn people about this company. They did…read morea terrible job at my home in Lexington, S.C. I had to have all the work redone by another company and it cost a lot of money. The county inspectors, Dominion Energy and two master electricians from other companies looked at their work and were shocked at the poor workmanship. They left the outside meter box in an unsafe condition with exposed wires and dangling master on/off switch. They used the wrong wiring and the wrong sized breaker in the inside breaker boxes. They destroyed every surge protector in the house as well as several appliances. They offered to fix some of it, but after seeing the quality of their work, I was not willing to trust them again. They were also way too dismissive of the scope of the problems they had caused; arguing that it wasn't going to require much to fix things. I felt like they focused on the need to avoid costs of repair rather than how to make things right in what was clearly a major screwup by a new employee who was way in over his head on this job. Add to all this, they said they would compensate me for some of the cost of fixing their mess and I never saw a cent. The company may be okay for HVAC work but I sure don't recommend them for electrical work.
