He provided detailed explanations about the various systems he had to offer, highlighting the pros and cons of each. I verified the information he shared with us, and it was spot-on accurate. He also told us about our old system and how it was good back when we purchased it, and how the new systems outperform it. He explained what items were good and useful on a new system and things he would stay away from and not waste money on. We are very pleased with the service, price, value for the work and response of Cassell Brothers. This was our second unit total replacement, the last being in 2020. Reading recent reviews one could be scared away. That is not our opinion. Justin identified the inoperable problem in our 40-year old unit, got us in immediate contact with Doug (who came out on a Saturday). The replacement team of Dave, Carl, Donnie, Walter and Favian removed the old system (including ductwork) and installed the new system in less than 6 hours (in an attic over 95 degrees). They cleaned everything, went through the operations steps with us, and followed up two days later to complete one task. I would have given them a five-star but for one item still not resolved with our Trane unit from 2020--requires another Trane specialist. On 12/31/2025, I contracted and financed $6,280 for a top-of-the-line, high-efficiency Rinnai SENSEI RX (0.98 UEF) condensing tankless water heater. Instead, they installed a much cheaper, standard-efficiency RE199e (~0.81 UEF) unit. The unit they installed is a base-model, non-condensing unit that typically costs $1,000 less than what I paid for. Because it's the wrong unit, I also lost out on a $350 Dominion Energy rebate and have a $600 Federal Tax Credit liability. I brought this to the manager's attention three weeks ago. Since then, I have been repeatedly ghosted and ignored. They are happy to take premium prices for builder-grade equipment, but they refuse to answer the phone when caught. I have officially opened a merchant dispute with GreenSky and filed formal complaints with the SC Residential Builders Commission (LLR) and the SC Department of Consumer Affairs. Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually installs what they invoice you for. Check your model numbers! ***UPDATE*** finally after I reached out to the BBB, the Department of consumer affairs, wrote a yelp review and a google review, I finally got a phone call back. funny how that works. They called my brother and he declined their phone call because it was a New York number. So they called my wife to get ahold of me. Somehow they think they can say they tried reaching out to me "multiple times". if that is the case Robbie, show a screenshot showing where you tried to get ahold of me? I will post all of my evidence showing you bait and switched units on me. Funny how I did not even get an apology or explanation of what happened when your manager James called me this morning, he just said, " instead of trying to the math, we will swap out for the correct unit" and wanted to schedule a time. ***UPDATE*** I have reached a settlement with Cassell Brothers. In the end they did the right thing and corrected the situation. Even though there was a lot of back and forth in the end, everyone stayed professional and I am grateful for that. I appreciate that management stepped up to make it right. I Consider this matter fully resolved and appreciate the company taking the necessary steps to endure I was taken care of as a customer.
