First off, the consult was great, super quick, clear info about what was needed and easy…read morescheduling with zero issues. The guy who did the consultation, Dylan, told me that because of the height of our windows (18 ft) scaffolding would be required and that alone was $300 and they had a company minimum of $399 for any job so the scaffolding would help make minimum. Total job came out to $500 initially but when the guys who did the actual job came out, they took one look and was like "let's just use a ladder" after we cleared everything out for scaffolding. They used a ladder, I pointed out to the company that had scaffolding not been needed I would have just gone with maybe 2 more windows at that height up top getting film to make the minimum rather than be charged for something they didn't actually even use. They told me they understood and going forward would make sure they took that into account for future consults (great for future customers?) and knocked like $100 off, less than what it would have cost me to just get those 2 windows treated minus the scaffolding. Either come back and say "you're right, here are the two windows done for you" or just make an exception for the minimum because you didn't give me the option to choose additional work over scaffolding to make the minimum since the latter was apparently a "requirement" due to the height of those windows. They are lucky they have Dylan as an employee who was just following regulation requirements and is an asset to that company, otherwise I would have taken off more stars. With regards to the work itself, I am happy with the work itself, they do good work. Just, get your story straight about how you charge people to ensure they get the best "bang for their buck" as Savannah mentioned.

First off, I have nothing but good to say about the quality of their work. They even did my job…read moreover from scratch because of a mistake on the install. However, I was blind sided by their terms and financing.. I was told they had 12 month no interest financing. What they did not tell me was that the financing was not through them. It was through a company called Regions financing. We had a 7,500.00 job and we paid half up front. They also did not tell me that it would involve a a hard inquiry on my credit report. This lowered my FICO score by 30 points. My wife and i have a combined income of 200,000.00 and the company wanted pay stubs and rewards letters from my SS and School board retirement account. Screw this, I said. I talked to manager Dylan Gammons who understood my frustration and gave me till the end of the month to pay the balance. They did good work but I felt this financing offer was deceptive. I urged him to inform perspective new customers what was going to happen with the hard inquiry. Once it happens, you cannot take it off and i feel I was had.

Kenwood…read moreDMX809S Excelon flush-mount install with Maestro harness, backup camera, front and rear dashcams, parking sensors, and license plate camera. Everything looks factory-installed -- zero visible wiring, clean bezel fit, OEM stealth look. You would never guess this is aftermarket. They used a Maestro iDatalink harness to preserve all factory wiring so nothing was cut. 500+ Kenwood installs and it shows. The attention to detail on cable routing and trim reassembly is excellent. They also stand behind their work -- told me to come back anytime if anything needs adjustment or fixing. That kind of warranty and after-install support is rare in this industry. Knowing they've got my back long-term gives me full confidence in the install. My wife drove the car the next day and thought it came from the factory like that. Planning to keep this car to 300K miles and pass it down to my son. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a professional clean install in the Austin area.

This is one of those times I wished 6 stars was an option…read more Wanted to give my daughter and her husband an upgrade for their 2017 Forrester infotainment system that had been rendered near useless by the Texas heat. Her Subaru dealer wanted a fortune to just replace it with the OEM unit with its 8-year-old technology that even when new was behind the technology curve compared to other carmakers (a lingering issue for Subaru). I reached out to a couple well-reviewed shops but was so impressed by Sohail at Pro Car Audio. He runs the place and knows his stuff up and down. I called him 5 minutes before closing one evening and he spent the next half hour walking me through the pros and cons of mid-priced options for that vehicle. In that conversation he explained the unique considerations for that model of Subaru and why a Kenwood model would be far superior to the Sony unit I'd been looking at somewhere else. We struck a deal, booked the install, and it all went down yesterday. It was a great experience. Sohail and his team installed the unit in precisely four hours--exactly what he estimated. The unit and its trim kit are seamlessly integrated into the vehicle and have none of that "aftermarket" look you used to see in non-factory stereos. And the team at Pro Car Audio integrated the steering wheel controls with the unit so you almost never have to touch the screen on the new unit. What's more, the unit now displays car status info that her original head unit never did, including tire pressure and battery charge level. When my wife and I get fed up with the head unit in our own Subaru, we'll call Sohail again. I know just the unit to have them install. (PRO TIP: If like me you decide to wait for your car vs doing a drop-off, check out two phenomenal spots a half-mile's walk from the shop. The first is Marimbas Guatemalan Bakery (great baked goods and coffee and wonderful people). I stopped there for coffee and a treat. Then when it was time for lunch, I walked down four doors to Peace Bakery and Deli, a Mediterranean spot that serves a badass veggie schwarma and crazy-good tabouli. And don't even get me started on its many, many baklava varieties. Both places are located in the same strip center at Braker and N. Lamar. It's like a 10-minute walk at most from Pro Car Audio. I posted up at these places to get some work done but I mostly just ate.)

777 Towing and Recovery Leander

This Super Bowl Sunday, I had a horrible time trying to arrange a tow for my toolbox, this changed…read moreonce I started talking to Freddy with 777 Towing. I had called nearly 10 different tow companies, and of the three that had answered, Freddy was the only one who gave me an actual price estimate (that wasn't outrageous) and an approximate arrival time. Although he was busy with another customer at the time I called, we exchanged info and he got back to me shortly after. Once Freddy arrived, my day continued to improve. Worryingly, I had my toolbox stored in a relatively tight storage unit complex, but Freddy managed to maneuver his truck in without a problem. As he began to load up my toolbox, I could see (and appreciate) how careful he was being both loading and securing it on the flatbed. The unloading process went smoothly as well, Freddy again backed into my precarious driveway with ease, then proceeded to use the same skill and care to unload my toolbox without even a mark to either my driveway or toolbox. If you're looking for a skilled tow for your precious cargo, Freddy is the one to call, he was on-time, friendly, straightforward, communicative and damn good at what he does. He will be the first one I call the next time I need a tow.

Avoid This Towing Company - They Damaged My Truck!…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. I trusted 777 Towing and Recovery Leander to tow my truck, and they ended up causing damage instead. They were careless with handling, and when I pointed out the damage, they stopped responding. Now I'm stuck with expensive repairs that could've been avoided if they had done their job properly. If you care about your vehicle, do yourself a favor and call someone else. This company clearly doesn't care about their customers or their property.
