I would strongly discourage anyone from using this company for interior or exterior doors…read more We spent a significant amount of time detailing exactly what we needed. The salesperson who handled our order clearly did not have the experience required to properly measure, specify, or advise on door selections. He visited our site multiple times to measure and confirm details, and we went over everything thoroughly and very specifically. Despite that, critical information about material variations, sizing differences, and height changes were never disclosed, even when directly relevant to the doors we selected. When the order finally arrived, multiple doors were wrong, sizes were incorrect, and several items were damaged. Instead of taking responsibility, the salesperson attempted to shift the blame onto us--despite the fact that we clearly communicated our requirements and relied on his supposed expertise to ensure they were met. It is not the customer's job to know door construction standards and material tolerances. That is the company's responsibility. The situation required multiple escalations to management. There has been poor communication, ongoing delays, and additional costs on our end to repair and correct issues that should never have occurred in the first place. Weeks later, we are still waiting on replacement doors and resolution. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. The level of disorganization, lack of accountability, and overall incompetence we encountered was unacceptable. I would highly recommend choosing another company if you want your order handled correctly the first time.

In addition, they do the sweetest things for our local community, including an annual CHRISTMAS arts and crafts for children, a local dinner to say Thank You for shopping with them over the years (it was open to the public), the lovely koi pond out front that we visit regularly, and so many more ways they support our hometown. Bug infestation a week after moving in....called customer service redirected my call to warranty dept. Warranty dept said we have a lot of bugs in Tennessee....well hey, there is great quote. I have lived in TN more than 20 yrs. , owned 4 different houses....the Summertown Barndo build is the very first house I have owned which had bug infestation issues. Stink bugs in almost every light dome (about 30 of them in my house), each had to be removed by hand on a 12 ft ladder and cleaned. I work as a nurse (since 2004) and have heard and read about several patients falling from ladders. Before my Barndo build started I was contacted and assigned to 4 different building supervisors -- I did hear the one who oversaw my build is no longer there. The contract at Summertown is basically after move in they are hardly responsible for anything in the first yr. warranty. They offer "arbitration" in said contract I signed....I have asked about arbitration to receive a "we don't need arbitration" or no reply at all. My wrong floor color and wainscoting was corrected by Summertown. These guys are lock step in the wrong direction of what's good and has integrity. I was asked twice for more money after I had already signed my mortgage contract -- as if they were pan handling of things not mentioned until after I was close to moving date. It used to be here in TN and man's word was his bond. My building supervisor at the time told me everything could be corrected after I move in. The warranty dept. said no even to a light fixture installed by their hires (has no purpose), I kindly asked STM to remove it after I moved in, they said it's not our responsibility.

In a few days she emailed a plan and made some suggestions which we agreed to and the project was underway. We went to the showroom to choose style and accessories. We weren't sold on the colors available but Jennifer quickly came up with a resolution. She was able to match a sherwin williams color we loved and have applied to cabinets. The cabinets arrived, were installed in a day. We were truly happy for the extreme facelift they gave to this faceless kitchen. They were able to add functionality and space without compromising the age and style of an older home. The sales staff was gracious, knowledgeable and extremely helpful.
