Tucked away in the Thoroughbred Village strip mall of Cool Springs (where Office Depot and Trader Joe's are notable tenants), the Tile Shop offers a beautiful array of tiles for your home projects. We visited while planning a massive bathroom and pool renovation at our home. Compared to their competition, options here tend to be more upscale and sophisticated. We appreciated that! However, the selection is much smaller than their competitors. That doesn't impact the beauty of their tile, and many will be thoroughly satisfied with their experience here. The primary annoyance at the Tile Shop is that the names of tiles and their allowed usage (wall only, floor only, allowed in showers, allowed in pools) are written in tiny font and difficult to read. At their largest rival store in Cool Springs, everything is labeled quite clearly in legible font with name, brand, usage, and recommended grout color. With a much larger selection elsewhere, we didn't end up buying from the Tile Shop. Keep in mind that they offer very nice products and expert designers to help with your project. The Tile Shop is not a subpar store by any means. It just wasn't for us as we needed a larger store with a more efficient experience scouring through aisles of tiles. read more

This place is overwhelmingly amazing! They have so many selections that it is hard to know where to start. Luckily, they also have great employees who know their stuff! Just looking around is fascinating, but to know you have so many choices is simply fun. I only needed a small amount of tile, but I was treated as if I was ordering a much larger amount. We worked with Sr. Designer, Samuel Lands, to select a backsplash for our newly remodeled kitchen. Working from a picture of our new granite countertop, Samuel selected a matching tile backsplash and stone accent for behind the cooktop. Nice, clean store with plenty of items on display. Samuel sold us a complete package with grout, sealant and caulking along with the tiles and stones. Our installer was pleased that everything he needed was ready and available. The tile shop is a great place to find unique tiles. Four stars is simply due to the fact that tiles can be pricey and returns are full box only. I would give Five stars to sales associate Samuel Landings. Ask for Sam you will not regret, he is amazing when it come to designing around your unique needs, ours being design for a log home. The Tile Shop is extremely busy, so I believe appointments are preferred and appreciated. Doing a little research beforehand, I knew this and was assisted promptly each of the three times that I visited. Once to explore, once to order, and another to pickup my tile. I'm sure walk-ins are still welcome, but if the entire staff is waiting on a client with an appointment, you can't really get upset. If you had an appointment, you wouldn't want to be bumped for a walk-in. Samuel did a great job helping me pick out tile that suited my countertops, appliances, and cabinets. Everyone has raved about how well it turned out. You can't get expertise like this at Lowe's or Home Depot. If you are like me, and need a little help with making sure you are picking the right colors to compliment your project, this is the right place to go. Manager Leigh Ann was an extremely vital part of my A+++ rating as well. She really cares about her customers and this store. I highly recommend them to help you with your next project. read more

Went in here to look at tile with my husband. Not one employee asks us if we needed help. Poor customer service. One guy finished with a woman then asked a couple who came in after us if they needed help completely ignoring us. We bought tile at Lowes for our back splash in our kitchen. One star only because the tile is lovely. The only way the customer service could be worse is if they slapped you when you came through the door. If you want to beg for the tile already paid for and then be gaslighted, by all means ... check this place out. Otherwise, save some $$ and go somewhere else. It took about 30 minutes of wandering around to finally see employee. I was wondering if anyone is actually showed up to work that day. Walking around did show how unbelievably expensive their tile is compared to anywhere else I had been for the same tile. When the employees did show up they were less than helpful to say the least. Horrible experience with these guys. Long story short, we had a water intrusion in our kitchen and have to have our floors redone. The first tile they sent us was of such poor quality (chips, cracks, irregular sizes) that it couldn't be used. We reordered a different tile and were promised that it would be in last Friday. When my contractor showed up on Friday to pick it up, we were told that the warehouse was doing inventory and that they didn't ship the order. I understand that things happen, but why did we find this out only when they were at the store to pick up the tile at the time it was promised! So then we were promised that they would personally go to the shipping terminal and get the tile so that they could pick it up first thing Monday morning. Well, here I sit on Monday morning and I find out that that didn't happen either, but only after we called them to check on it. Their communication is non-existent. I now have made arrangements to take the day off from work to be here for the tile installation that is not going to happen today. I will never again do business with this store! read more

I agree with customer service based on the other reviews definitely not their strong points here. They help one at a time and if you're standing around you don't exist until you wait long enough and they're done doing what they're doing with another customer. They don't acknowledge you might as well be invisible. They have a decent selection of tile but it's just so overpriced very very expensive. My biggest issue here was their list they gave me when I asked for installers. I picked out a porcelain tile from my garage and it would all come down to how much the installation cost so I got a list of approximately 7 people from the tile shop. They gave me all of the contractors on a piece of paper I called all 7 and three returned my call. I have a new four year old house very simple install standard two car garage 450 feet. Nothing overly wrong simple cuts with the concrete except for the usual stains in minor cracking. So the first guy told me to put down this porcelain tile 12 x 24 which are big pieces of tile requiring less time so he gives me a quote of $5500 for a standard install in a garage. Second guy wanted 7300 and the third guy wanted nearly 8000. He said 1600 to diamond cut the garage when they were just laying fabric over it which made no sense. These guys are crazy with their prices all around this is not the place to go if you value your dollar it's only for people who couldn't care less and have money to burn. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Joe Mangiaracina at the Franklin TN store. He has help my pick out the tile for my shower over a period of months. I would constantly pick something, go home and think about it, then change my mind. He has been incredibly patient and found the humor in all my indecision. NOPE! Before you even bother with this place just take the drive to Floor & Decor ( about 35 minutes from this place, you get great help & the prices are way better). WE walked into the tile shop- we were looking around for a while (several salesppl there but only 2 other customers in store) , Joe approaches and asks if we need help- we say YES- we show him samples of our cabinet & counters & explain we need back splash. We liked some that were too high and some that were affordable and decided to take home 2 samples .... where was Joe?? the moment another customer walked in he abandoned us even tho there were 4 other ppl in store who could have helped them and basically never came back- we tried to flag down another person to get samples which looked NOTHING like the tile up on display & were told thats an old display the light may have discolored it, & then ww were told we had to wait for Joe- we said ok - we waited a while, seeing he wasn't going to come back to us, we walked out! YES, The Tile Shop you let hundreds of dollars in sales walk right out your door! read more

I think The Tile Shop is a great alternative to the much more expensive boutique tile shops in Berry Hill. If you want something classic or something on trend, they'll have it. If you want something that only you will have, and you can afford it, go to the more expensive boutique shops. The Tile Shop has a nice showroom with a lot of products available at a wide range of price points, from marble and glass mosaic at the high end, to really attractive porcelain and ceramic tile as more budget friendly options. I've had good experience with sales people, several of whom have laid tile professionally before taking the sales position, which is really helpful. They have almost always been readily available and not pushy. The manager, LuAnn Robinson, is also a great person and a great resource. When I ran into a problem with my tile job over the weekend, she dropped what she was doing to help me solve the problem in a way that was extremely helpful, and much appreciated. You can get less expensive tile at Lowe's or Home Depot, but you can't get this level of service and you can't get this many options of really attractive tile. read more
