Not only did Todd replace the one damaged door panel, but he also identified, adjusted and retested the track assembly so it now operates *smooth as silk* and better than new. Todd even handled the foul language from an abusive neighbor as he helped them navigate our shared drive... I called GarageWorks after my DIY attempts to troubleshoot our garage door opener failed miserably. They were happy to advise me on the phone in the hopes that I could resolve it on my own. When it became obvious that I wasn't going to be able to fix the problem on my own (a jammed trolley), they set up an appointment for the very next morning to come out and fix it. We used to have a weird garage door. "Weird" as in being able to tell people who were visiting for the first time they just had to look for the house on top of the hill with the strange, barn-style garage door. A previous owner of the house installed the door (or had it installed). Not only did it look bizarre (out of place with our other normal garage door and every other normal garage door in the neighborhood), but it didn't work. The door was so heavy that it was pulling the hinges out of the frame and it dragged along the driveway whenever we tried to open or close it. It was a mess. Oh and did I mention that in order to install this odd door, the previous owner had ripped out and enlarged part of the opening so that a standard normal overhead-opening garage door would not fit in the space? Did Garage Works flinch when we asked them to remedy this problem? They did not. Casey provided what I thought was a very fair estimate. They could have gotten started pronto, but we wanted to get special inserts for the garage door windows and it took a couple of weeks to custom order them. Once they were in stock, Abbey called and got us scheduled for the install right away. Luke and Trent worked very hard on an extremely hot day to get most of the work done. When the job took a little longer than anticipated, Luke kept me in the loop with regular phone calls so that I knew when he would be returning. As promised, he showed up and worked through a severe thunderstorm to get the job finished. It sounds silly, but it feels really good to have a functional, attractive garage door now. I feel like it's made a huge difference in the curb appeal of our home -- not to mention the functionality of being able to roll open that door and access all of the yard equipment that I store on that side of the garage. Do NOT just walk away...RUN.. I believe all the "great" reviews are fake! 1) I choose the door I wanted and I'm sent an invoice with no descriptors of what I was paying for, only "complete door". Not one word of the type or name of door I chose. Very shady practice right there and should have been a "tell" of what was to come! 2) I was told it would be 4 - 8 weeks since the door I wanted wasn't in stock. There was NO contact from anyone until I asked about the door, 4 weeks later! I was told it would be another 4 weeks. 3) Again, no communication from anyone until I sent another message a month later asking what was going on. Now it was going to be 10 more days. 4) No communication or "keep you in the loop" so I sent another message on a few days before it was due asking that since the date would be the upcoming Monday, would my door be coming in? I was told "We won't know for sure if it comes in until they unload the truck. I will call them Monday afternoon to check". I'm sorry, but in today's world, I just have a hard time believing that companies do not know exactly what is on a truck and when. 5) After a week of no one getting back to me on where things were I received an email on Friday that said it could be another 3 weeks! I called that day and asked if there was a door on hand that could be installed. I was told that someone would call me on Monday with what choices I had. 6) I was NEVER told of any choices I had, only a call to get on the schedule for installation! Nothing was provided on what my choices were or the kind of door that was being installed! So, I was NOT given the opportunity to choose what I wanted; the company made that decision for me! UNACCEPTABLE! 7) On the 80TH day after ordering a garage door, the installer showed up with the lowest level of door available, no insulation, not even close to what I originally ordered! After waiting for 11 weeks to get a door for a garage I couldn't get into from outside, I certainly wasn't going to turn him away! He could not have tested the door to see if it worked or if he did and left it in such disarray, add that to this list! The work was sloppy, leaving glue all over the door! Now, I have had someone else install my opener. The door doesn't work well because the installer did NOT replace the down track! I sure paid for it, that's for sure! So now I get to pay someone to fix that! The installer told me that Garageworks had really overcharged me for the level of door I received! Yeah, I already knew that.. Hopefully this saves someone else from having to take this from this scam of an operation! read more

I'm a first-time homeowner of a house built in 1980 with the original wooden garage door. The door got off track and my car became stuck in the garage, so I did what anyone would do -- I called my dad who lives 400 miles away to complain, failed to coerce him to drive here and deal with it himself, and finally dug around Yelp to find a repair company. I called GarageWorks, and Abbey was very accommodating to my bizarre situation. She scheduled Andy to come out before the weekend to assess what got the door off its track. Andy quickly realized that the shoddy weatherproofing installed by the previous owners was torn, and that's what was causing the malfunction. He greased the track, explained what was wrong, how they would fix it, and setup a follow appointment to do the repair. If all of my home repairs were this simple, my house wouldn't look like it's perpetually stuck in a Brady Bunch era of popcorn ceilings, floor to ceiling vertical blinds, end enough wood panelling to build the ark twice BUT I DIGRESS. Things I liked! Great communication: Abbey patiently answered all of my questions when I booked my initial appointment. They gave me a 2 hour window for both appointments (that they stayed within!), and each time Andy and Casey called when they were on their way. #TAKENOTESCOMCAST The price: What they charged was VERY fair, and they were up front on that price from my very first phone call. They didn't take advantage of a desperate situation. They didn't suggest a bunch of unnecessary repairs. They gave me a quote, and it was maybe $5 off, if at all, by the time I paid. They're nice looking guys: I mean this in the least creepy way I can -- we have a bit of a fixer upper, and I deal with a lot of repair guys coming in and out of our house while my husband is at work. There have been times where I've felt preeeetty uncomfortable. This was not the case. They looked like nice, professional guys that you'd want to grab a burger with or have fix your garage door - you know, whatever you need! The work: The previous weatherproofing on our garage door was an absolute eyesore. It was stained, cracked, and had giant nails in it every few inches around the perimeter of the door. Casey removed all of the nails and weatherstripping and replaced it with a thin piece of vinyl with matching nails (talk about luxury!) that sits flush with the door and is virtually invisible compared to the previous "fix". He also replaced the wheels on the track so none of us go deaf from excessive squeaking. What a guy! When he finished, he cleaned up after himself and ran the track a few times to be sure everything was functioning properly. We've had no issues since, and again, I can't comment enough on what a completely painless and affordable process this was. I can see why GarageWorks has so many stellar reviews, and I'm happy to add another one! I will definitely recommend them to my friends in the area looking for this type of service! read more

When we heard what we thought was an explosion in our garage, we didn't know what to think. BUT, the next morning when the garage door wouldn't open, the cause (a broken spring) became apparent. I was referred to Garage Works by a friend who happens to assist lots of folks with various home repair issues in her work as a Realtor. She said these guys were top notch and the only folks she trusts. I know the gods were smiling as Abbie (who answered the phone) and after hearing my story, almost immediately said she had to check on something and call me back in five minutes. In a flash she called back to say a tech was on the way. Mark (the tech) called while enroute. I drove my truck through my garage door and was not anxious to buy a new garage door. Garage works made the whole process as painless as it gets, i got the best deal that i could find in town and was beyond satisfied with the service and the quality of the door i had put in for the price i paid. This company will not cut you a break. I was charged a 75.00 dollar service fee for the guy simply flipping a switch. He was there for less than 5 minutes. I would not recommend them to anymore. I felt taken advantage of and ripped off! read more

This is the second time we have used garageworks. Last year they installed two new openers and today they replaced the springs on one of our doors. I cannot say enough good things about their service from start to finish. I sent them a text on Saturday expecting to hear back on Monday. 10 minutes later I had an appointment with a technician for Monday to repair my door. As with last time the service was right on point. Excellent quality work done by a very courteous technician who knew what he was doing and made sure the job was done right. The garage door openers they recommend last year are whisper quiet and continue to perform above and beyond my expectations. I wouldn't recommend this company if you need a new garage. The installation process has been a headache with many hiccups along the way and they still wanted to charge us full price. A good company with good customer service should refund the customer a portion of the cost and offer some discount when the company messes up. That was not offered to us and during the process I have had to wait while they fixed the mistakes on their end (ordering incorrect and defective parts). Still in the process of waiting to get our final product. This whole process has taken way too long. We should have gone with someone else. read more

They responded within minutes to my request on Yelp and saved me a lot of effort trying to figure out who could help fix the spring.
