He was up front about costs and totally reasonable. He replaced the bent track on my left garage door quickly and efficiently. I could not be more pleased with the service he provided. Bottom line: The garage door is fixed and there was no upselling! I'm also impressed with the communication and method that Precision uses to arrange and confirm appointments. Over charged me $1,600 because their software had a problem. Company could have easily refunded my money via ACH, instead wants to issue a refund that will take up to four business days to receive - wanted their money immediately upon finishing the work but the customer waits for a refund on their mistake. Shows a total lack of concern for the customer - just get the card and charge it. I would look elsewhere. read more

In May 2015 Precision Garage Door Service of Nashville installed a "top of the line" insulated garage door with windows and the LiftMaster #8550 Elite Series 3/4HP with built-in battery and MyQ Technology. Since the install this garage door and system has performed flawlessly with me doing the maintenance. I decided to engage Precision to do a check-up of my door and system seeing as it has been in use for seven years and they sent out Robert Barnett to take care of me. To use Robert's words...the "door and equipment still look and operate like they are new". Robert went through the entire system, ran tests, and didn't even see the need to lubricate the system. He provided me some tips on maintaining my system in good condition and even showed me a diagnostic tip on the MyQ App. Overall...an exceptional experience and Robert took great care of me. Jonathan Lane was awesome to work with. We had a nearly 20-yr old chain driven opener on its last leg with an awfully squeaky door and parts that were just about worn out. We had a cable that was badly frayed and in danger of popping on us. Jon quickly saw everything we needed and offered 3 different packages in a "good-better-best" type scenario. He estimated 3 hours to completely overhaul our existing door mechanics & install the new belt-driven opener (that is also wifi-capable through the MyQ app - which has been awesome!) but worked so efficiently that he was out in just over 1.5 hours. Tons of quality work done, everything looks great, sounds MUCH better, most things with a LIFETIME warranty, and Jon couldn't have been more of a pleasure to work with. While the prices aren't what I'd call cheap, and yes, if you call them they WILL ASK for the sale while they're at your house, what we received in quality parts, equipment and workmanship we believe are worth it. Called the main number for Davidson county and asked Jasmine if they could copy a gate remote for domestic use. Jasmine said this would not be a problem. I confirmed the address with her. Drove 25 minutes to the 7200 Westbelt address to find an office complex and a locked door. Called again, and Julia (who was very nice) informed me that they do not do retail work or sales out of this address. Incredibly frustrated and disappointed with this company. I understand that training your people about what you do is an investment of time and capital resources, but it is also how you acquire and maintain customers. read more

We have used Precision Door twice now once for the operator and once for the door. They did not install the door nor did they decide to strike to operator by lightening, so the reason for the calls were not to fix work originally done by them. I really appreciated their great customer service they have an answering service who answers nights and weekends. The last phone call took place on Easter morning. They were able to have a technician out the next day at a time that worked for us. They sent a great confirmation email telling you and showing a picture of who would be at your house. I truly appreciated that part. Both times the technicians were friendly, gave options and explained things fully. We have been fortunate enough to work with Brandon and Thomas and highly recommend both! read more

Problem with our garage door was with the manufacturer so we were not charged for even the Service Call; the unit was quickly replaced with the guarantee that the unit will be replaced with a Lift Master if any problems occur in the future.They have become exceedingly pro-active by calling on all customers whose unit was installed around the time as ours and replacing their units, too. read more

I would not recommend Precision Door Service. Our garage door was not closing when using our garage door openers. Precision sent out a Tech (& trainee?) the next day. The Tech entered the garage, looked around, and instantly said we needed to replace several parts. When we said what the problem was, he reset the release cord to the opener & track (I released it originally to close the door manually). The door was now closing properly but the CAUSE of the original problem was never addressed. I ultimately agreed to the $700 package for the "needed" new parts (although thinking this was outrageously high ). Nonetheless, the garage door was now operating properly---a "fix"which lasted only a few days!! When the original problem returned, I called Precision the next morning & was told the manager would review the file and call me back. When he didn't call back that day, I called again the next morning (always politely) and my wife called again the end of the day. The person taking her call said that they would put "urgent" on their note to the manager. When another day passed & still no return call from Precision, I called another garage door company. The Tech immediately questioned the need for all these new parts & tried to FIND THE CAUSE of our recurring problem. He thought he found it & made the repair for a total charge of under $100. read more

SCAM ARTISTS! Tech showed up and immediately said the motor was shot and I needed to replace everything. Quoted me $700! Even told me the machine was "old", i bought the house new 18 months ago. I was able to get someone from the manufacturer on the line and he was able to fix the problem in 3 minutes over the phone! Experience was perfect from the initial phone call through the time our service person, Brandon, left. Called in, made the appointment for the next day, then received a confirmation email. The next morning Brandon called asking if he could arrive 30 minutes early, which was great. Brandon was professional, very polite and pleasant. He immediately identified the problem and went to work. Garage door now opens flawlessly. No stars! BEWARE this company's idea of "service" because what they really mean is "sales". Made my appt, stated the model garage that I have and the problem is door won't stay down. Austin comes and immediately tries to frighten me about exposed wiring that could cause a fire and burn up my cars. Oh ok. Then he goes into units are built to last 10 to 15 years and mine is old. Oh ok. Then whoever put my door up did a really bad job. Oh ok. Since he wasn't doing ANYTHING to DIAGNOSE the problem, I began telling him about youtube videos I'd watched and what people were doing to fix the SAME problem. I may as well have talked to a plant. He couldn't even articulate any method of diagnosing a problem, nothing remotely close to first we'll VERIFY the sensors are working properly then check this or check that. NOPE NOPE NOPE. Got on his ipad and presented me with three packages I could purchase, the cheapest being $174, the next over $500, all were about replacing and there's been no attempt at diagnosing the problem- he even said the $174 pkg was not a guarantee it would fix the problem. Be careful with this company. Their prices are astronomical and they constantly try to upsell you instead of just doing the job they were asked. After a quote of almost $1000 for a motor replacement, I called the company that originally installed it 20 years ago and they replaced it with a brand new unit for $300. My garage spring decided it didn't want to work the 2 Saturdays ago. I tried to do the responsible thing and contact 3 garage door opener repair companies for estimates and NONE of them called me back. When I was at work, I just happened to open a ValPak envelope and lo and behold, it had a coupon. I called them that day and they were able to set up an appointment for me for the following Saturday morning between 8-11. Well, Tod, came to my house at 8:45 a.m., and explained to me the problem and provided three different estimates of the repair job. In addition, I asked him if he could put in a new lightbulb and he did. All in all, he was finished by 9:15 a.m. You should definitely contact them!! They have several different timeframes available so you don't have to take time off work. They are open on weekends and won't charge you extra! I would definitely call them again!!! read more

I spend three days installing our new garage door opener, but could never figure out why the floor sensors would not stop blinking, resulting in the garage door not closing. Shane Follis, after some trail and error, solved the problem. Eventually, it turned out to be clip in the overhead which was lose resulting in unsecured wire connection. do NOT use. phone scheduler asked me make and model. i told them our cables were intact but off the track. She said it would be a $65 service charge, but that it probably wouldnt be anything more if no broken parts had to be ordered and replaced. the tech arrived, looked at it, and said they weren't allowed to work on those cables and he's have to install all new ones of a different kind.... totaling $341. now, if the scheduler asked all the details on our unit and brand, and asked about my cables, why would she have not disclosed there is a "type" of cable they don't work on and would have to start with a new kind? scam. read more

Precision totally ripped us off regarding our garage door repair. We had them out twice, to the total of almost $1800. Then, it malfunctioned again. On the recommendation of a neighbor I called a local company. Fixed it for $129. Have to admit, I did not call Precision about a refund or anything, but I highly doubt they would have been interested in talking with me. Just wanted to get my garage door working. For what they have charged me, I could have gotten a completely new door. read more

Service tech was curteous and helpful. I had a genie door opener that was under warranty for parts, after talking with genie support, it was determined that I needed a new circut board, which they ship to me for free 3-4 business days. Tech was told by supervisor to charge a service fee for this visit and a second service fee to install the part after it arrives instead of stopping by when they are in the area and popping it in, it will take 5 minutes. Also got hit with a $5 fuel surcharge at the last minute which was not previously disclosed. Definitely not a business that values repeat clients. read more
