I was pretty underwhelmed when visiting Hurts Donut. I had suggested to meet a friend there who was visiting from out of town. I hadn't been in this particular space in probably about three years but unfortunately, this location has gone downhill. The donuts that we ordered were fairly stale and we were cautioned not to order, one of our choices because we were told that they were going to be thrown out soon (which I suppose was nice to warn us). The dining space was very disheveled and there were crumbs and bits of trash on the floor and tables. Employees didn't come out at all to clean up the area. There was no coffee available and the soft drink machine was out of order. The women's bathroom wasn't in the best condition either. Such a bummer because I really have loved Hurts Donut in the past, especially when I was in my undergrad in Lincoln and it opened there.

They have a lot of choices and very unique doughnuts. They tasted awesome and fresh. Really cool atmosphere with indoor chair swings.

My new book may be the only weight loss book with a donut on the cover. So of course, we celebrated at Hurts.

Donuts are rad. Hurts donuts are among the raddest. I recently wrote a book about losing weight which I suspect is the only book on weight loss that goes into great detail about donut consumption. Not that donuts helped me to lose weight, but without them there would literally be no book. By the way, you can check it out and get it here: https://amzn.to/43B5SUU Or anywhere books are sold! (but not donut shops)

Great selection of unique doughnut flavors and open 24/7! Pricing can be a little steep, however the selection, quality, and variety make up for that. Additionally, while the exterior of the strip mall might be a bit off-putting the ambience inside is neat with bright colors and old school swing seats!

Dozen donuts. Apple pie was the best one!

Good donuts! Some are hit and miss, I really didn't enjoy any of the chocolate base ones, but the normal white dough doughnuts are really good! Especially loved apple pie. Worth checking out for some unique doughnuts!

    Just turn back now.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a symphony of out-of-order signs. Seriously, it's like a treasure hunt to find something that actually works. The floor? Filthy. The trash? Piled high. The coolers? Barely any drinks in sight, like they've been raided by a pack of thirsty zombies. Speaking of zombies, let's talk about the guy behind the counter. Poor soul looks like he's seen the end of days and is just waiting for the sweet release of... anything else. His customer service skills are on par with a rock. "How many doughnuts you want?" he asks me while gazing longingly at the ceiling, probably dreaming of a life far away from this doughnut purgatory. The best part? When I tried to tip him, he practically begged me not to. "Keep it," he said, dead inside. For the price they charge for a doughnut here, they could at least invest in some therapy sessions for this guy. Needless to say, I'm off to Winchell's Doughnuts. At least there, the employees manage to zone out while still pretending to help customers. Cheers to slightly better indifference!

I'm shocked these guys have such low ratings, because these donuts are the best in Omaha. We've gone twice now, trying out the Oreo cheesecake, Andes mint, Oreo crumble, and the coconut key lime. Each had the flavor perfectly captured and didn't leave that overly sweet aftertaste. Highly recommend for all donut lovers!

Randomly closes for staffing. Only had handwritten sign on door- no way of knowing the actual hours of store.

I recommend trying everything, there's not one thing over that I'd suggest. The scones are huge, they're moist, they're flavorful, and there are so many great flavors to try. The lemon bar is divine! The decorated shortbread cookies are favorites for Christmas and Valentine's Day. The little rainbow cake slices are perfect for birthdays. I've yet to taste it, but got Nutella hand pies for valentines treats! The cinnamon rolls are heavenly, the cream cheese frosting is lovely. They had a pistachio roll that looked amazing today, so I'll have to come back to try that. This location gets a little difficult with parking, so you may have to park a block or so away if it's a busy time (mornings and weekends). There's always many different treats available but the earlier you get there, the more there are. There's usually a line of a few people but it goes quickly. They have pre-orders online, vegan, and gluten free options also! I want to say they also have custom cakes, but don't quote me on that.

I'm so proud to support Sweet Magnolias because they go beyond just serving delicious baked goods! Today, I tried the S'mores bar, and I was blown away! It was so good and I can't wait to come back for more!

Just plain and simple (and good!) donuts. We have been to Pettit's a lot over the years obviously, but I never thought to review them until now, on our last visit. The interior is simple, just like classic bakeries from my childhood. You can smell the baking donuts and treats and it brings you right back to those memories. Katie was the attendant behind the glass case on our last visit and she was super nice and took care of us even though we didn't know exactly what we wanted when we came in. It was close to closing time when we decided to pop in, so I did have some concerns about freshness. But that was no issue! They were all still super fresh and delicious. We got about 8 donuts and rolls and each and every one was fabulous. Their classic cake donuts are my favorite, with the white, chocolate, or maple frosting. They remind me of the little donuts you'd get after church with your parents, when they serve coffee and donuts in the parish center - LOL! The filled/long John donuts are my husband's favorite, and they are also super tasty. The white fluff that Pettit's uses in those is heavenly. Super sweet but not cloying so much that you couldn't finish one. Next time you're on the hunt for something sweet and want a good quality, affordable option that may give you a bit of nostalgia, definitely hit up Pettit's Pastry!

From the beginning, the staff was incredibly helpful and creative. We had a pretty ambitious idea--a 3D cake shaped like a Blanton's Bourbon bottle--and they were completely on board. The attention to detail was amazing. They even recreated the iconic horse topper, and the finished product looked so real the retiree actually thought it was an actual bottle at first. They also helped us select from a wide variety of cake flavors and cupcakes. The main cake was the retiree's favorite flavor, and we added an assortment of cupcakes so guests could try different options. Every single one was delicious--some of the best cupcakes I've ever had, and a lot of guests were asking where they came from. One of the biggest lifesavers: they delivered the cake to The Drover and made sure it was safely stored in a fridge for us. We were all tied up with work and couldn't get there in person, so that extra step meant a lot. If you're looking for a cake that's both a showstopper and genuinely delicious, I can't recommend Sugared Ledge enough. Their talent and service really made the event feel special.
